Today, Tech N9ne joined us for the second time in 7 days and world premiered his new hit, Speedom featuring one the greatest MCs of our time, Eminem -- who also happened to be with us via phone line.
The last time these two came together for a record was in 1998 for Sway and King Tech's The Anthem.
Years later, they're back together and Tech explained his vision and concept for the song. It was inspired by Richie Havens' hit "Freedom" triggering a new thought in Tech's mind.
"The freedom to speed," Tech tells us. Hence their song title, 'Speedom.'
While in-studio, these word-craftsmen explain their writing process and how they piece words together -- "like a jigsaw puzzle." And Em admits to always have his finger on the pulse of what's going on in hip-hop. He's always watching!

Bizzy Bone is one of the best speed rappers of all time. Check pit Bone Thugs Body Rott, Bizzy comes in @ 1:45 in the song, he starts rapping at 1:52. Yes, I have the damn times memorized lol its that good!!!

regardless of how you feel about Eminem's flow and lyricism nowadays, you have to be happy that he's healthy now and doing good. He's such a great guy, and it would be terrible for him to be slowly killing himself on pills still. props to both of these amazing rappers.
Word, I'm definitely one of those that like his older flow but saying that, I'm more excited to see what genius he comes up with next, same with tech man, been a fan of his since way back too. Happy they finally got together to do this collab, i mean, at the end of the day, we, the audience are winners to see such a great track and its so insane

His style is much more about alliteration and assonance much more than stories like it used to be in the past but again I attribute that to the drugs. I think Eminem & Tech should make a collab album. I like the new tracked they dropped, fast and powerful. I'd love to see them try another track with more focus on flow and delivery tho.

When he said through the sadness he feels the light, that got to me because I've been going through A dark period of my life & hope I can see the light to. Tech n9ne worked his butt off. They came up to me in a parking lot in burbank at a circut city I think and gave me a cd. I think it was for Anghellic. Which I'd have to go through my stuff. Seems about right since I was living by studio city at the time. I saved it and I thought that was such a cool thing and very nice. I had no idea who he was. He made a fan just on that.

I really enjoyed this a lot. It's interesting to finally hear a little more into how eminem creates his lyrics. It's cool that when he hears other people's music and even tries to rap it, it's no different than you and I. We all appreciate hip hop in our own way.

Half the reason im a tech fan (and eminem fan) is because he is a real person, I feel good supporting him because I like him as a person and respect him. You can take an ultra talented artist, give me a catalog of dope songs they made, but if I dont like them as a person I will never be a big fan. So yes I prefer alot of techs older music but i want him to continue to blow up bigger and bigger even if It means less songs that I like. Because he fuckin deserves it at this point. And I respect eminem for jumping on speedom free of charge. The only thing Em asked in return is that tech would give Em a free verse later on. And thats dope.
