I used these in my University labs. The glass of the cassette are hard to separate after electrophoresis. You should include a mini-crowbar to separate them. That small tool doesn't work.
@@VorTexX993 Yeah I definitely agree it's easier to remove it outside of the holder. But my wells still get messed up when removing it. Mostly because it's hard to take out evenly.
When you remove the comb, small pieces of acrylamide can break off the gel and get caught in the wells. If you don't flush them out, the migration of your samples through the gel can be impeded and band resolution becomes compromised.

Thanks you! This helped in lab.
Yeah! Biology!
to the point and clear. thank you!
It's not that easy to remove the comb
Its much easier to remove the comb before the gel is put into the holder... i dont know why its not recommended. Any opinions?

wells tip over or break off using 15 well combs-- such a waste
Whats the rinsing step for ? Aren't the gels already swimming in the buffer ?

Wow this was really helpful thanks using this method for my thesis.
can these pre-cast gels be used for observing nucleic acids?
Hi all, If you Look closer they changed the comb!! Can you please liad Up a Video with the actual comb?? Its super hard to remove
can I run only 1 gel out of 4 spots using this sytem?
Yes, but you need an additional plastic piece that goes in the cassette. Same for if running 3 gels.
can i load one sigle set of plates contating gel and no dummy plate on the other side. Will it cause any problem in gel run
Its called Criterian cell??
Thanks a lot!
How can I open the gels if I don't have the opening lever?
With a flat head screwdriver
That's hot. Lovez it!!
who designed that silly little comb that messes up my wells everytime i remove it 😹
#shameless-selfpromotion 😂
