InanDante I think that's more to do with the quality of the mastering or the mic that was used to record her. Her voice is definitely too quiet - there's a huge difference between her and the growler. Sometimes as well, if you have a powerful voice but a lot of that gets lost in the mic, or in mixing, that can affect the sound when it's done.
saw them live a few times, and her voice is powerful enough ;)

I feel like the gutterals don't really work, probably just that the smaller guy tries to force it to be deeper than his physique would allow naturally. Screaming is good though, I'd stick with more of it, and maybe experiment with some "mid-range" growls. The female vocalist definitely sounds and looks tasty) And the music in general, well, as someone who listens to female fronted sympho/power/gothic stuff all the time, I must say it was surprisingly refreshing, like, the perfect balance between using the cliches of the genre, but also experimenting a little bit. Well done, guys!
Holy shit this band kicks ass with the operatic female vocalist over the male death metal vocalist. They remind me of Novembers Doom in their mid-period as they had a female operatic vocalist in the 1990s. She sounds like Sarah Jezebel Deva but a lot higher range than Sarah (Sarah's subject matter mirrors the American Nu-Metal movement.) They remind me of Tourniquet and Dimensions era Believer as they were the second thrash metal band to use cellos as Anthrax was the first with Be All End All with the classical attack as the keyboards sound like a 19th century harpsicord. This band floored Pastor Bob Beeman as they have innocent lyrics like Arven.

At last I found what I was always wondering. Without having the idea to just look for it. I just stumbled upon it by looking a video from another Swiss Symphonic Metal Band. It's a real pleasure to listen to her voice again. And the music, so much energy. It charged my batteries for the day.

Found this sound on school, now bring so many memories
well I just spend an hour with clicking myself through at least 100 female fronted bands, and not a singe one of those bands was as interesting as this one. great drums, song writing in genereal perfect, clean vocals great because not overly operainfluenced (yes this is a word now), and the gutturals were a nice suprise aswell. Just the bridge was a little too progressive for me. but in genereal 7 out of 10!

Great production on the video. Really wish they had stayed on one lighting style, because the bright parts are too bright and break the initial dark, contrasty, dreamy setting.

Sehr schön der Song! Das Video speziell finde ich leider nicht so toll, musste die kalte, helle Halle sein? Das kann man besser machen auch mit wenig Aufwand, die Atmosphäre geht leider flöten!

I started listening to Epica yesterday, and it sent me down a really deep youtube hole trying to find other bands with female leads and honestly after 15 hours of searching i can honestly say that you guys are the best i've heard, keep it up.

This is really good! I really can't get into most symphonic metal. Maybe it's the progessive elements, but for some reason this works for me. Don't even mind the death growls. For some reason this doesn't come across as incredibly cheesy white music, which a lot of music in this general genre ends up sounding like to me. Cello, keyboard and guitars are great. I think the vocals could be better. Obviously if they had a more attractive front woman it'd probably help their popularity, and I think her vocals could be better. But I prefer them to Epica and all that stuff. Perhaps it's because it's more down key. Not over egged.

Whats happened to metal after the 90ies. All those soprano girls sprouting everywhere, thinking they are Kari... Dont tell me "Things go on"... Keyboards everywhere, trust me in 25 years you wont recognize what the coming generations make of metal, either. It happens that way. You got something you love, and time perverts it into unrecognizeable stuff. All the years when I wanted to do metal I wanted to sing like either Lita Ford, Sabrina Claasen or better yet Dana Duffey, I dont ask the generation that started in the end 90ies but those from before, why do you listen to this stuff and in the 90ies said keyboards dont belong into metal...? god, even the clothes...
+Pahansisuinen well there are many types of metal, in this kind there are guitars, keyboards, drums, bass, cellos, violins, gutural singers and sopranos, but there are metal bands like Arch Enemy that have female vocals very gutural and are bands like Lullacry with female vocasl like MASTER QUEEN LITA, I lik emany styles of metal even this and Lita, from glam to hard core. Abou the clothes I remembered Lita with her clothes in Out for Blood album, is not quite different from this, I love the 80´s cause it was youth era those days, but I listen many kinds of metal as I said.

Sometimes I just let youtube roll. The last three vids had guys with a 6 string bass just strumming the B. lame. The rest is good, sounds like Epica had an influence in their writing.
Great guitar solo performed in keyboard, and the keybordist sings with fry scream. While the female singer plays cello. Great musicians.

You guys don't know this, but I, now and again, just pick like ten random (and I mean really random, I just finished listening to some chinese pop song that I hope was satire but it probably wasn't) songs to listen to. I am always super critical when it comes to these sessions because I do tend to uncoved a lot of crap.

Great Mix,Of heavy,and light vocals on this.
Not that something is wrong with the band. Vocals is not bad and music is ok. Overall its just too generic. Seems indistinguishable from at least 10 others bands in similar genre. And why EVERY female vocal just have to be this "angelic voice". They all sound just the same. Without any character.
Listen to the bands Mortillery and Destiny Potato.
They are also female fronted.
You'll notice that their vocals will be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from this.
And WHY?
Because Mortillery is Thrash Metal and Destiny Potato is Progressive Metal!
Vocals, especially female vocals, are very genre-based.
Dysrider is Symphonic Death Metal; the guy growls (Death Metal) and she is singing with this "angelic voice" (Symphonic Metal). Result: Symphonic Death Metal.

It's all genre-based!
That doesn't mean it is bad in any way!

+Metal Addicted So how come its different for male vocals. Take Power Metal or Heavy or Progressive - each voice of each band has its own individuality despite being in the same genre ! But all women voices just had to be the same. Can you really say that you can hear voice of that woman and recognize it among other similar bands ? I say - no way ! There are exceptional bands like Epica or Dark Moor and maybe couple more. But that's it ! It's worse than POP, actually. There, you can at least distinguish Lady Gaga from Sia by their voices

However, I'm very surprised with this song. In the beginning up to the middle, a symphonical piece of cake sounds. A bit of Neoclassical Power Metal behind. Close after the middle, modern Metal paired with Symphonic shines brighter than anything. This is truly awesome.
The last time I was so much impressed, was with the Band "Barren Earth" with "The Rains Begin", where the same concept like here was used, to show a great show in the beginning, but then astonishes the listener with a new theme.
