  • June 20-23, 2024. North Cascades National Park, Chelan County, Washington.
Started at Bridge Creek Trailhead on Washington State Route 20, traveled south on the Pacific Crest Trail to Twisp Pass Trail, then east to near Twisp Pass where an off-trail ascent was made to Stiletto Lake.
Overnight camps were at Fireweed Camp, Dagger Lake, and the Stiletto Cross-Country Zone (which is a small area at Stiletto Lake).
Round trip distance was approximately 18 miles (3 of which were cross-country), with an elevation change of about 4000 feet.
Permits are required to camp here, and there are no dogs allowed within the backcountry areas of the National Park.
The cost for backcountry permits at the time of this video was a $6 reservation fee, plus $10 per person. So for this trip it was $16 at the NPS Ranger Station in Marblemount.

I was up there 40 years ago. Larch time around the first of October is the best.
