It's always refreshing walkin into your first day of your class and your professor goes, "You need to buy the book for the class. But just get an older edition. It's the same thing as the newest one and you'll pay 20 bucks instead of 80." I work extra hard in those classes 😂
The changes from the older edition include moving 1 paragraph before another, a chapter before another, removing The, etc
A classmate I knew just got the whole older book off the bay of pirates and thought I was stupid for buying even an older version
I was a fafsa student and wanted to save EVEN MORE money. So I ended up scanning EVERY CHAPTER of the book and printed it in the library 😂😂 printed 2-3 chapters a week. It was great. SAVED SO MUCH MONEY.
Hell yeah on college books. They sell it to you for $200 but only give you $20 on the buy back. Sometimes, they won't even buy it back because there's a "new edition" coming out, and that new edition really was just one spelling correction on one single word in the entire book.
I still blame the students. None of you rebel against this. You all just accepted it as if it were a normal thing then if you were to ever work in a college, you do the exact same thing to the students who come after you.
When I went to college, the bookstore sells photocopied-laminated "books" with a plastic binder to hold all the pages for like $200
The price of health care in america still shocks me. At least in the UK when you're sick and end up in hospital you aren't given a huge bill when you leave

But procedures more complicated than broken arm like surgery might have a long waitlist. That's one reason many Canadians come to US to healthcare from time to time
This needs to be talked about waaaay more from many platforms. For the healthcare one, one of my medicines cost almost $2500 a month! With most insurances that you still are paying for, it goes down to maybe $800. Who the hell can afford that?! And it's your life! I HAVE to have this medicine! I was able to qualify for a state program and I only pay $3 per each of my medicines. Like... How does that even make sense!! The markup is ridiculous!
Text books are the same way. Either the teachers were selling them at between 150-300 typically, or a class would say you must have a particular new edition and then they never even use the book for class.
Can you imagine if we all or the majority of us boycotted colleges and universities?

Yes! I don't like digital copy of games. The gamers always get screwed because some company puts a certain feature or necessity behind a pay wall. Not to mention they can take permissions away or just out right delete the digital game and you have to buy that over priced copy again... winking at you Microsoft/Xbox and EA sports. Its stupid, health insurance costs, because health is the umbrella twrm for mental health, dental health, and vision health. Because if you had poor dental health, that effects your overall physical health too. Which then effects your mental health. There shouldnt be extra charges.
Also, in network doctors/dentists vs out of network doctors/dentists. My dad has been seeing his dentist for years, yet the dentist is considered out of network with the insurance company. So they only pay for a small amount and the rest is out of pocket. My dad is 81 yrs old. Seems stupid to have to find a new dentist now just to find on deemed in network by the insurance company.

I’m glad Ryan brought up digital vs physical games. I refuse to buy a game at full price if it’s digital only, (I’m a console gamer btw) even my most anticipated game of the year came out digital only, and it was only 10 bucks cheaper then the regular retail price (which is just the old retail price so it still feels full price). Once shit goes full digital I’m just gonna be waiting for everything to be 10-20 bucks because that is a HUGE scam, especially when I bought a DISC DRIVE ps5 for an extra $100 for a reasonnnnn.

I think the banking system is also a scam, like here in the Philippines the bank gives you 0.06% for your savings annually, but charges you 6-7% interest rate per term when you do a loan (using savers money like yours) and of course with collateral.

But pay day loans are all on the people who needed them to start with.. its not impossible to pay them off and if the person isnt smart enough to do the math than they shoulda stayed in school or done the work first to realize the apr and their own financial status. But then again if they did that to begin with than they probably wouldnt need the loan in the first place.. given there are a lot of crap that can pop up on somebody that are unpredictable..
