    I can never get enough of this song. Ironically I'm actually dealing with this with my parents right now and it's taken on even more meaning than ever before.

    This is quintessential Larkin Poe. It brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my lips, a melancholy dichotomy of joy and sorrow. This song was my first exposure to your work.     In my opinion, the most honest and very best soulful version of this fantastic Larkin Poe song was recorded in 2015, on a UK Tour, at the "The Convert Club". (Rebecca's voice was on a different level that night) It was recorded or released by Gramophe Armageddom and can be found on UA-cam. All Larkin Poe fans should do themselves a favour and listen to this version

    This is such a beautifully moving song. Achingly sad but this song really captures the hope that our loved ones will never suffer the loss of person that comes with dementia of any kind.

    I discovered my grandfather was suffering from dementia when I found him reading Sports Illustrated, he said he was fine, doing great but was holding the magazine upside-down. He was trying really hard to hang on.. He passed a few years later. Your beautiful song brought back some sad memories. I really loved both versions.

    Well, I wasn't convinced that they could do a version to match The Convent Club performance, which in comparison is a very stripped back sound. Sort of a fearful plea. But the orchestration on this performance really does add something, especially the strings. It's warmer and more of a defiant stand. I'm a bit torn.
    Either way, a brilliantly written song that means a lot to a lot of people.

      My favorite version of this song is "whichever one I am currently listening to", they are all great.
      Being over 60 I find this song both beautiful and terrifying.

    Such a mesmerizing performance of a poignant and beloved Larkin Poe classic. As this is so close to the Lovells hearts, there is such care and gravitas in this arrangement, only heightening the fervour in what is already such an emotionally impactful song. Simply stunning and beautiful. 💞

    Born in 50, I heard and even sang a lot of nice songs. I confess, "Mad as a hatter" touches the heart, your song spins in my head.
    Until now, it is the most precious one I have heard. Megan, Rebecca, you are both simply magical, beautiful."Paint the Roses" is a masterpiece, a jewel.

    I love the little detail of turning slightly away from the mic so that your volume doesn't overpower.
    My favorite version of this song is the Grocery on Home live performance for playing the violin like a guitar (such a unique sound!), but this is epic with the orchestra. 🙂

    As mentioned in another comment the Covent Club performance was immense. This has a whole different dynamic and yet still conveys exactly what was intended! Another stunning performance of a great song

    Really good! Larkin Poe, you just keep getting better and better. This has always been a strong song with meaningful lyrics but the vocals keep getting stronger and Megan's slide matures with every outing. Love the live Ensemble, lifting and moving the arraignment. 10.

    His name is Fraser Scott. He is my father. I expect that he is making up fantasies, but if he really is your father, I'd be proud to have you as sisters!

    Following this band for years. Stumbled on this gem. Some know my situation I went through with my Wife and Alzheimer’s. Also had a friend I met at #prizmanalog Recording Studio that had schizophrenia. Nice nice smart guy on his good days. So this hitting home with me now. Thank you for your wonderful music

    Holy crap. A golden oldie reimagined and stronger than ever. I love all versions so far, but this one feels like a theme song for a film, especially the "off with the heads" part with that melodic drumpart underneath. I love how your voices have grown, and the text still hits home hard and brings me to tears. Thank you for releasing this. Thank you a lot.

    I have been folloeing You and your wonderful music, the music of Larkin Poe, for several years. Your music, wether cover versions or own compositions, and espacially this great song, a very beautiful pEAce of music means a lot to me. I´ve been listen to ´ Mad As A Hatter ´ , since I´ve been here in clinic, "Again and Again Again" ( an instrumental composed by CodonA).
    Especially during my last psychosis your wonderful music gave me a lot of support and Security. ...

    Absolutely magnificent. We feel all the passion in this orchestra. Rebecca and Megan are really great artists. Rebecca is an outstanding singer and her older sister has a great sensitivity in playing her instrument. These two women represent everything I love about music. I really love them a lot.
