- I recently had an amazing opportunity. I was chosen as an #AmtrakTakeMeThere Social Media Resident! #Amtrak sponsored me on a train trip from Orlando, Florida to Washington DC. We traveled on the Silver Meteor and stayed in a bedroom on the sleeper car. I honestly was pretty nervous to try this new experience, away from my routine, but excited at the same time. Jan, I want to tell you I am 79 years old but when I was six years old, my mother and got on a train in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and took it clear to San Francisco California. Then we got on a big ship and took it clear to Okinawa.

I liked riding the train because you have no responsibilities; there's nothing you have to do. The train and the crew handle everything. All you have to do is ride. It's very peaceful. I was glad to get to my destination, though.
I agree, it's very relaxing and you don't have to worry about loading your things or getting the beds ready or what you will eat

Oh Jen, that looks so comfortable. Now I've got to make this come true on my bucket list one way or another. Granny from Kentucky is a widow. But I'm going to be checking into Amtrak when I wake up sometime this morning. It's already 3 a.m. I spend the last couple hours watching you. I felt like I was with you. Love Amtrack. I LOVE train rides if not going to work lol. I took it from NYC to Baltimore once. I even think somewhere in Jersey but I can't remember because it was when I used phone booths.😜

I love this. You are so happy and sweet. I am a mother of an 11 year old mainly nonverbal daughter who has autism. My daughter got to go on her first car ride out of state a couple months ago. She love it. My question is at night if I fall asleep on a train is there anyway of locking the doors so she does not wander off when I am asleep. Or should I stick to car riding for her?

We lost leon and lori early in their lives but they are where they are okay and happy.
I rode Amtrak with my grandmother and dad to new York City to see a Broadway show for a day

I've never spent the night on a train, would love to be able to afford 1st class, that would be so AWEsome to try, but for now, I will just dream, wink... When a person goes 1st class do the meals come with 1st class or did you have to pay extra please? Hugs & C ya... 😘 🌹🌈💞🎵🌷🌼🌺💖😆👏👍💫🌟✌ 💛 ☘️
