Same!
I’m really late….but….me too…lol
2 years later and Rick Beat is still bringing us here!
Whaou I am also here after Rick Beato interview !
Literally just heard this existed and came straight here to listen and see what he's done solo
me too, how the heck did I Not know about this?
i guess because ive never gone onto his site & NO one has talked about it on UA-cam or did a Review.
I did a Review for 72 Seasons, so maybe i should do one for this
same here
me too
You can hear the influence he took from satriani and his lessons. Dope. Kirk is awesome, and I freaking love that purple oujia guitar.
It's about time someone says something good about the guitarist that inspired most of us including the haters that break his balls, you will never be half as good Kirk is so cry a river somewhere else with your 8 string guitars and less than impressive "sweeps" that are so gay and useless to real musicianship
Ricky Beato brought me here and I am enjoying!
This really is very good indeed. love the eclectic, creative approach. Its amazing what Kirk is capable of. Such a shame it's not a full album
This is the very best,Kirk... you are the man, best 30 minute listen,...
Didn't know Kirk had done a solo project. Very unique story telling in the writing like Satriani. I like it.
Sooo glad they let Master Kirk off his leash. Love you love this😘🔥
Here after the Rick Beato interview
GRANDE EL MAESTRO KIRK! ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARISTS!❤❤❤❤
Wonderful great job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
This is beautiful musical art
I love I love! !!!!!
This is dope. We get to see whats on this guy's I phone finally!
Lol
wow i miss this sound since master of puppets. Metallica needs more Kirk to get back like they used to be. so deep
Es una maravillosa obra de arte, la que ha realizado Kirk! Una demostración del enorme talento que posee ❤
Awesome!
Really epic and adventure/fairytale vibe!
So easy to spot a Satriani apprentice. You can clearly hear his training and influence even after all these years.
BELLISSIMO !!!!
It’s so awesome that Kirk is finally able to put his own flavor of music out there instead of being stifled by Metallica.
Best basis for new Metallica music since, well since forever ago. Metallica should be using more of Kirk's ideas to work with. Some of this could be high end Metallica music!! No, we will get crap instead.
One can hear most if not all of his influences. I hear so many other artists in this. I read in a recent interview that this is intended to be cinematic/theatrical sound track style. Extreme sports films may very well use some of this. Some of this would work quite well with John Wick.
What's most important is Kirk was able to release this from his mind.
INCREDIBLE
I love that he is having fun and you can hear it ❤😂🎉
Just love this!!!
Piękne, nie umiem wybrać jednej,w każdej mnie cos zachwyca 👌
Fascynujące!
I had no idea this even existed until today. I love it! I love hearing new styles. I don’t want to hear For Whom The Bell Tolls or Master of Puppets for the 10,000th effin’ time.
Dark. Interesting. I like it. Im happy Kirk did this. Not sure who is playing all the instruments, but the cello and guitar on The Jinn REALLY tickled my ear drums.
I only came here because Jon Theodore is on drums. He was amazing with Mars Volta, seems he's just keeping time here though
❤️
Sóoooooo 👏👏👏
MORE!
❤ me encantó imaginé que podían crear kirk y Guillermo del Toro Algo mágico.
I like this album
ótimos solos.
Maiden grows on you, amazing . I love the 3rd one . Very good excellent . 4th is just epic
Correcting myself, this is phantastic.
I know huh 🤔?lol🌹💕💋
This song is amazing 🔥i saw Kurt Hammer at the Peabody Essex museum in Salem Massachusetts he played this one which was unbelievable
🤣😂🤣KURT HAMMER! HAMMERTIME!
Did he "nail" it?
It reminds me a little of Anders Buass, his stuff is amazing too.
Fuck. Yes.
Brabo
Very nice, Kirk making his own thing.
I didn´t want to compare but here we can see what brings Kirk into Metallica´s music. His music has a Death Mmagnetic'esqe vibe.
For me it's something like early Steve Hackett. Great job.
The Metallica songs that could have been , had they utilised his stuff moxe than they have . The Jinn ziff coulda been an all-time classic Metallica song.
I've always considered him in the pantheon of the Titans of guitar!!
It's interesting, although I am having trouble getting through most of the tracks. The last couple tracks seem the best, and the incantation is holding my attention the best.
One of many, dozens of music!
There is no outstanding value in it!
So Jason cant have more projects but... Okey, doesnt matter, i dont know how i didnt listened to this before damn!
I thought the exact same thing 😂
Maybe the therapy changed how controlling James and Lars were
Kirk is an kinky' guitarist, but still great one,potencialist...:P love his rifts, respect:P
🇧🇷💀🤘
Here right after I finished the Beatto interview... surprised pappa Het leg this happen... remember Eco Brain ?
Sounds like a movie soundtrack
Only a few hundred more of these and Kirk can catch up with Buckethead
Kirk doesn't need it though..

Remember when Metallica drove Newsted off for wanting to do side work?
High plains drifter the best. Feel like bull fighting
Ike the way his technique is pretty hard rock blues pre Satruani and Malmsteen even pre Van Halen pyrotechnics.. has a more vocal feel
About time this genius of guitar FINALLY got a solo project!!!🤘🤘
This one The Incantation 19:06 is so extremely cool and well made, my favorite of these four tunes. Put a style on it or category is hard, but if I must: I would say Progressive Metall and Prog is my kind of candy for sure but also Metal as that is what I started with 1974: The Sweet, Rainbow, KISS and also the Beatles. ;) I am also a Metallica fan, bo doubt. They are special and unique. These 4 tunes are unique and cool and I love odd stuff. When I listen to number 4, an old Beatles tune pops up in my mind, well it has the same feeling in some way. Being for the benefit of Mr Kite: ua-cam.com/video/zhB967-AVew/v-deo.html
You can hear the Michael Schenker influence.
but schenker didnt suck beyond belief.
@@albertfish69 you sound pleasant
Norm
on this one i think he sust want to express' Thrash metal..and he did it oswomely:P
wow this is unexpected and very interesting
...if John Williams composed a Metallica concept album!
I'm hanging on every note...
He should have continued his music studies, that way he would have more chance that his music wouldn't have been so predictably dull dull dull.
Who would listen to that without a Kirk Hammett sticker? Sorry Kirk ... I love you anyway! :)
tbh it's part of the deal. it matters who plays for the metal fans I guess. amount of musicians or enthusiasts among the rock/metal/alternative audience is remarkable. this album is pure data for people like me since we never heard them playing anything other than metallica. another similar case is pink floyd's nick mason's solo album, Fictitious Sports. it's not the best but hell you understand what your favourite artists give up to stick to a style and a concept.
I am at work enjoying the music.
every guitarists solo project sounds exactly like this
Dont quit your day job ..... huh?
(His day job pays how much?)
I mean good job then!
It's okay. Why bother getting Jon Theodore if he's not gonna do his inverted paradiddle stuff? Lars could have played this
Howcome he can do this but when Newsted did they didn't like it?
In my point of view in that ocasion they were too selfish, especially Lars and James, however the time goes by and they got mature as a musicians and understand how much is important to let someome show new ideas such as Kirk did in this terrific job .
Not super familiar with dream theater but this has that kinda vibe
I really think this could be more interesting but... Sounded generic... I hope he doesn't stop in this album and bring another for us because to me all of this is very new to him.
Much better than Lulu.
It's time for him to leave Metallica. He has to be free to composed his own music.
17:53 goosebumps!
Fr tho
At 17:53 it just soared and became weightless......awesome feel
Joe Satriani: 😎👏👍
Great music. He finally moved away from Metallica a bit. I'm sorry that Lars and James have been running in circles for a long time and not allowing anyone else different ideas. They keep going back to what they think they should be doing, but unfortunately times have changed. They still have potential, but they will never realize it if they try to go back to the old ways. Stop listening to the old "We've never made a light song" type of duds. You gained popularity with "Nothing else mathers" and why be ashamed of that when it's a phenomenal song... I also love Master of Puppets, Orion, Live and let die ... but they made a leap from the others because of experimentation. I have a feeling that they desperately want to go back to their youth and play clubs where 10 dead drunk dudes worship them.
*to live is to die. Live and let die is an old paul mccartney song that GnR also famously covered.
I'm sorry but this is disappointing as anything. I've been a long time fan of Metallica and Kirk. But this is an awful solo album in my opinion. If you enjoy this that's fine. Im not trying to debate with anyone. Just a boring instrumental album. Not very inspired from what I hear. Kirks guitar solos in Metallica have progressively gotten more and more lazy in my opinion. They don't feel like they play "for the song" as much as it just feels like poorly improvised solos. An as for this solo album, it just sounds like someones running through guitar exercises alot. Idk. Maybe it's just the guitar player in me but if you're a guitar player tell me you haven't practiced patterns that sound similar to a bunch of stuff on this EP. I just wish we got some more melodic an interesting out of him. He's done some nice solos with Metallica in the earlier years. Would of been nice to see a short EP with something more creative. 🤷♂️ Still love Kirk. But please give it another go. Don't let this be your only solo release. The hamster can't let this be the only thing he's done solo.
I agree ,,, I love Kurt and he inspired me to play till I jam . But he has been told yes for a long time
Come on man
@@IanAustin.you mean Kirk
I just can’t get into it. I’ve never found his guitar work to be pleasing to my ear. I’ve tried. This is no different to me. No disrespect intended, but it sounds like an amateur guitarist playing along to UA-cam backing tracks. Guitar playing doesn’t have to be over the top technically, but the melody does need to flow, and this just doesn’t to me. To each his own. The guitar tone sounds awful also. I am glad to see him doing something solo, though I wish I would have liked it better.
Bro he got to do a solo album, he never got to contribute anymore with Lars and James shutting him down. I found this album refreshing. We know he can write full songs by himself and the mixing wasn't that bad
Also, the whole band benefitted from Cliff's guidance, so everyone improved him included. When he died, the band collectively "lost" themselves moreover every decade.
Average at best
14:20 maiden rip off

Yawn...
No vocal. Good lord.
Sing man.
Is kirk a singer?
Kirk has lost so much control in his playing since the early '90.
Kirk is not creative. This clearly shows it. I mean how is he ever gonna stand in front of solo albums of the artists like Jess Loomis and John Petrucci. Both of which are excellent solo musicians and play in bands too. Kirk's music is just meaninglessly playing through scales like a beginner. Not impressed. Not at all.
Sucks
U can cry
Do you play instruments!
So constructive, lame
Boring.
no it’s not. listen to high plains drifter. that’s dope
Yuck
Rick just promoted Kirks solo album..hehe
