Bless his heart! He was a darling, rare man. I can feel his inner warmth glow out of his countenance.
Iman had a handsome, sweet, nurturing, intelligent, sexy husband. Hungry for life and shared it
      with others so generously.

They were soo much in love with each other! They were so blessed to have one another, and that they were together to the very end further shows how it was all destiny. Bless them both.

Vanessa Clark I know. He seemed to be high on life ever since he quit his bad habits and married Iman. He made a very good choice being sober, and Iman just helped bring out the real him, I suppose.

We lost our last true genius in this lifetime. Since he left us, it’s as if time is now described as B.B. and A.B. reference.😢

He was such an awesome artist and lovely man. Ironically, I have truly discovered him through the eyes of my teenage daughter. He probably would have been shocked at his influence in some of the younger generations.

Its such a shame that he died, he wasn't ready to go just yet, he wanted to do so much more, he said this to people closest to him in the end of his life. But his work will definitely be remembered and live on. Thank u for all the great genres of music u gave us major tom. R.I.P. David Bowie.v

Slow Burn was a great song. One of his best. The albun, Heathen, also is up there with his best. When I watch this it makes me sad because in a few years after Bowie would have his heart attack scare that changed his career and his health forever. For the next 10 years we would wonder if he had petmanently retired from music.

Jan Roberts Me too, he’s been in my life since 1972. Can’t and won’t let go. He’s not an artist you can just dismiss when he’s been the backdrop to your life. Some days are very painful and heart wrenching, the knowledge he’s not part of this World. His music and legacy lives on thankfully.

A timeless artist. Great interview & great video. But.... The narration mentions Space Oddity being his big break in 1967? Although there was an earlier recording of it with Hutch from Feathers providing some of the vocals, the retooled recording that we all know & love was from 1969. Just saying...

Is there more to this? Shame 60 mins just can't release or broadcast the whole thing (There's some other clips on their website if I remember correctly)
I couldn't find anymore, that was the complete 2002 aired broadcast, but there must have been outtakes ?.
Stop the presses, this bit in the transcript is edited out of the interview. :(
"DAVID BOWIE: I'd rather you didn't. (Laughs)
CHARLES WOOLEY: Just for a moment.
DAVID BOWIE: I've only just got here.
CHARLES WOOLEY: You shocked parents and they were disturbed about their kids watching the trans-gender thing. Now, those same kids have kids and they're worried by the antics of Marilyn Manson.
DAVID BOWIE: Yeah, I think actually the worries are slightly different these days. I think they're not so ... You know, rock-'n'-roll doesn't have the same currency now as it had then. I think the biggest frightener now is the disturbing lack of interest in ... among a certain proportion of younger people, a lack of interest in ... no curiosity in what's going on. Kind of a ... the idea, the fashion, the fashionable dumbing down of a generation, I think, is more of a worry. Because I remember - it's not like that's an old fuddy duddy way of thinking - but I remember when I was a teenager I felt much the same. I mean, I used to get really pissed off when people were just like purposefully dumb, it seemed, and didn't have an interest in this. And I fell out with many musicians for the same reason. "Oh, I don't need to, don't want to." You know, and it was like then, "Well, go away.""
