Outgrowing Friendships | The Older I Get

There’s a popular Yoruba proverb that says, twenty children cannot play together for twenty years 😊We will lose friends as we get older, sometimes its not because we’ce had a fight with then, we just outgrow certain behaviors and characters. We develop new morals and values that dont necessarily align with the other persons. It’s okay to move on from such friendships, no hard feelings.

I can absolutely relate. I had a friend that would for no reason give me the silent treatment and I would be left wondering if I did or said anything wrong. It was too much negative energy and it at a point got so draining. I had to peacefully move on.

A lifelong friendship got strained and I felt hurt for a while because I valued what we shared as friends, I later on realised that we are at different places in life and it was time for us to move
We still chat from time to time though
