They have a bunch of bling to put around them i love mine. The bun thingy is great too
That's great to hear! That was really my only negative. I'm still using and loving mine! 😄
Thank you for a good review, I've been contemplating the purchase of one.
I’ve been contemplating purchasing these! I appreciate your tutorial.
I got one and I love it. My hair is long and it holds all day. But it does leave a crease in your hair if you wear it all day. She didn't have a crease cause she only had it in for 3 minutes.
Hello I have a question, what size is the pony-o?
I think when I bought mine there was only one size, so the "regular", I guess?
I noticed you posted this in September, I was curious if they are still lasting?
I have *extremely* thick hair and i want so DESPERATELY to try these but I'm scared my hair will be too thick. I'm a CNA so I always have my hair up n I break regular elastics just standing still. Also I get migraines and after working 4-5 day stretch it's almost as if my hair follicles hurt from being up..that and regular elastics give out. So far the invisibobble works. How does this last during an "active" day for you
It lasts all day for me, but I do start to get a headache near the end of the day because my hair is so heavy. If your hair is much thicker than mine, you may not be able to even get it through the Pony O, unless they've made a larger size. I've had a lot of success with hair sticks lately. Super comfortable for long, thick hair! Hope that helps! 😊
Would this be too big for fine hair? My hair is a few inches past my shoulders, but is only medium thickness.
Yes, it would definitely work! It all depends on your technique. Just be sure you tighten it the way they show on the website, and you should be good! I've seen lots of videos with women with thin hair wearing them.
Angie Hepp, thanks for this video; it helped. I have a hair-related question for you. Your hair appears to be very similar to mine in texture and thickness, but mine isn't quite as long as yours. What caught my eye is you appear to have no frizzies or flyaways! What is your secret? My hair gets so frizzy or flyaway and everything I've tried just makes it flat or greasy looking. Thanks.
Sure! For the past few years, I've switched over to completely pure, natural hair care, skin care, and makeup, and it's made SUCH a huge difference. I have a few other videos about my skincare and makeup, but everything I use comes from here: www.hopeessentials.org. I use their shampoo and conditioner, but my new favorite is their Mirah hair oil. It's truly amazing, with zero toxic chemicals and only good things for your hair. Because the products I use don't contain any harsh chemicals, parabens, sulfates, etc. I only need to wash my hair about once a week. The products are also SUPER concentrated, so I can usually get three bottles from one by just diluting with water. You can get the best prices on everything by ordering as a wholesale member instead of a retail customer, so definitely check that out. Hope that helps! 😊
I know that this comment is already really old but I believe I understood you were making this video while being highly pregnant right? I think what also helped was the pregnancy. My stepsister is now pregnant and still has only 4 weeks to go. Her hair is more full and beautiful than ever, I have never seen her hair this nice before, not frizzy, no fly aways. But the sole reason for this is the funny fact that during pregnancy you don't lose hair! While every person loses about a 100 hairs on their head a day and also about a 100 new hairs start growing every day, pregnant women don't lose any hairs. By the end of the pregnancy the hair is more beautiful and full than ever. Sadly enough after pregnancy you can also lose all the hairs you should have lost over the course of all those months in no time at all, often causing the hair to go from very full to suddenly really thin all of a sudden with mothers who just had their child. They will grow back obviously. But I think when this happens it's easier to have short hair than long hair because with long hair it takes much longer. While with short hair in a couple of months your hair looks all normal again.
You probably have your hands full with the baby but do you have any updates? The silicone material makes we weary because my iPhone case is silicone and pulls my hair out!
Great question! Maybe silicone is not the right word. I'm not sure exactly what the material is, but I can assure you, it glides right out of my hair! No pulling at all. 😊 I still love it! Hope that helps!
Did it give you a headache?
Not necessarily. Because my hair is so long and thick, I usually get a headache as the day goes on, no matter what I use, so I can't say the Pony-O was any worse.
Was not that impressed. When you squeeze the sides in, they don't stay tight. I would give this a thumbs down for the price.
It could be your technique. I have very heavy hair and it stays tight all day for me. You do have to make sure to fan your hair out so it fills up the squashed "0" from end to end, then fold the ends back. Hopefully that helps! 😊
Same, not impressed. Doesnt work for my long straight thin hair. Did not pass the run test.
If you have thin hair it’s great but thicker hair be warned and the customer service is the worst if you don’t like their product even if you’re nice about it. They will give you the hardest time giving a refund unless you go through PayPal.
Angie Hepp my hair didn’t even fit through the hole I had to go towards the end of my hair (I’m 5’6 and down to my calves just to give an idea) so about towards my butt area to get the Ponyo in and tried to shove it on my head. My hair got tangled and it looked horrible it wouldn’t even barely bend.
My hair is 3-4 times thicker than yours, and is soft, straight, thick strands. Not curly or wavy.
And to add customer service is the worst even if you try to be nice. I asked to be FaceTimed, I tried their Instagram. They responded nice and great when you’re praising them but once you ask them why it isn’t working for you they give you links b/c you’re doing it wrong, I went down those avenues. They stopped responding they read my messages immediately but stopped responding. I contacted them on day one. In August 2018 and didn’t get a refund until Sep 2018 b/c I had enough and went through PayPal. Like I said, if no one believes me contact, I can send screen shots of my entire interaction with this horrible company.
When you’re praising them they’re great, but even if you’re nice about it and try to give them a chance they won’t even bother with you and cast you aside and try to keep your money while they’re at it. And I was only given a partial refund, so I ended up paying for my shipping twice.
Elizabeth oa This is really good to know, that was my concern... That ring looked really small & the diameter of my average pony (w/ all hair pulled back) is close to 2 in. Risk doesn't seem worth the price & hassle.
You were smart not to try it. I tried a friend's and couldn't get my hair through the hole. I think this is great for thin haired people. Dang.
I just got mine today and don’t ask me why but the first thing I did was sniff it.... Smells like pumpkin guts 🤣
But seriously- This didn’t give me the lift/ volume though. Not really different from a regular hair tie as far as that goes. Unless I put it on the very top of my head which is not the look I’m going for. Kinda disappointed 😔
There really is a trick to applying it. Keep practicing. 😊 Make sure to spread your hair out evenly in the squashed O before you bend the ends back, then really bend them until they're as tight as they can go.
How are your eyes now?
Great review! I loved seeing another person with thick and long hair try it! A lot of short thin hair tutorials are out there. Thanks!
Love you Angie 😉
thank you for the tutorial. I have decided to wait still. I need to know what the product is. Period. I a super allergic to metals and if it is metal inside of a silicone or rubber, that will not work for me. Also, if the outside is made of recycled "rubber." Rubber is highly toxic. Tires are toxic, period. You cant grow plants in them as many think and dont think about using it as an herb grower. Rubber is very toxic. I must know what it is made of. I will not put that in my hair unless I know.
Heidi, ask the company, don't rely on a third party reviewer to give the details to you.
just throw a scrunchie on over the thing and it won't be so ugly maybe??
Love your glasses, they look great on you!
