FYI my JB Caravan has blinds/screens like yours and your chosen orientation. Works well. One is wrinkling on one side which is how I found you. Now, to fix the problem 🤞😊
Many thanks for the video. I need to do some maintenance on mine - some of them are not running smoothly and all the fly screens are dirty - and I wasn’t sure how to do it. So this is great timing. I don’t think you will have any problems with your new orientation as mine, and most vans I’ve seen, are installed that way. I.e. the blind comes out from the bottom and the fly screen from the top. So thanks again and now to get the cordless screwdriver out.
Thank you! This was very useful to get started on my windows! My problem though, is that my window blinds are not complete, the old owner of my RV removed broken blinds and I have some windows with only a fly screen and some with only a blind. I can't figure out how to look for replacement parts because I don't know what the type/make/model of my window is, but it is exactly the same as what you are working on in the video! Can you tell me what to look for please?
@@VanHacks Thank you for your reply! I found out what I needed in the meantime. These windows are called Seitz windows and they are produced by Dometic. That was the information I needed to be able to look for parts. Typing "rv window parts" and "motorhome window parts" did not work for me, and whenever I would find a video like yours it would not mention the make and type of window being worked on because I guess everyone assumes we all already know it :) All the best to you mate ;)
nearly all of my windows have developed the following problem: One or both of the connections between the release handle and the actual bits of plastic that release along the track have become disconnected. and so pinching the handle in the middle does not actually start the blind sliding. The problem is that the connection between when you pinch together and those long arms that connect with the hooks on either side are only very weakly connected. These are old S4 windows. I wonder if the newer S4s have the same problem?

What good, useful, simple clear advice - thankyou!
Glad it was helpful!

thanks - yes i've had no regrets changing the orientation round
yes i can confirm on my 1996 euro mobile, all the blinds are flyscreen on top, light screen on bottom.
Useful and rather unique. Did not find such information on the subject, elsewhere.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks that was very useful. Do you have an advice on the best way to clean very clogged flyscreens (from dusty outback driving)?
No, sorry
Great tips. Have you ever changed the fly screen mesh?
Not yet!
Thank you helpful 👍🏻
Cheers mate. Appreciate the helpful advice
Happy to help
Did you have any issues with your windows losing its seal (leaking)when you removed the screws and frame from the inside??
This was done three years ago and no problems at all.
Good man.

I don't know, I hope someone will chip in about this.
