Annie is a spirited positive girl while Britta looks like a doll, so that's why her arc with Jeff is full of natural chemistry. This is the best idea of the showrunners to create such couple and... without happy ending

i agree, but i also feel like at the end of the series made a good point with them discussing how different the stages of their lives are, with annie still needing to explore and jeff figuring out how to settle down. but now i feel like enough time has passed that they could easily get together and be completely satisfied and confident in that choice, without annie having to wonder what could have been. i for one hope that the movie opens with them either getting together immediately or already being together, so that we can get a bunch of long-term-relationship dynamics between them that have never been able to be explored.
