HHS Proposes Rule to Establish Disincentives for Providers that have Committed Information Blocking

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a proposed rule on October 30, 2023 for public comment that would establish disincentives for health care providers found by the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) to have committed information blocking.
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and CMS will host an information session about the proposed rule in the coming weeks.
