Thank you so much for posting this, I tried another tutorial and it was super hard combing through the hair without my actual hair showing for my Toy Story Jessie wig, I will definitely try it this way!
OMG this look so good I can't believe U can do that usually people would just use a wig for a frozen look but a yarn wig never seen it in my life!! I love it! 😃👍👍👍👍👍
Pro tip!: if you want it to look more realistic you can get a metal brush (dog brush lice brush etc.) And brush ends to up because if you dont it wont work well then flat iron to style it 😊
I have a question-does the hat need to be the color of the wig or will the yarn cover it all anyway? Also, does the hat need to be loosely crocheted or can it be a tighter crochet and still work? Im having a hard time finding a red hat in the size I need that I will have in time to do the project.
I'm assuming the United States? If so, a plain hat can be found at local discount stores for maybe 2 or 3. And a skein of yarn is about 4. So maybe 6 to 7?
michelle ganbaatar you can! you can use much thinner yarn to also make it look more like actual hair. for this video, we wanted to look more like "characters" as opposed to having normal hair.
Anime Kaur Hi! Aran yarn is slightly thicker than worsted weight yarn, so your finished item should come out slightly larger with aran yarn than with worsted weight yarn. This might not be much of a problem if you are making a blanket, but it could be a problem if you are making something like a sweater where you want it to fit correctly as the pattern states.
Will this also work to make a wig without the braids because I'm trying to make a RWBY cosplay on Ruby Rose and I was wondering if it works the same way but without the braids
+SAO Yuuki Konno Absolutely you can. Most "real wigs" use this very same knotting/weaving technique I show in the video, except they use thin polymer fibers instead of yarn and a thinner wig cap instead of a knit hat. I would think a Ruby Rose wig is relatively easy to do - get a black hat, black yarn and dark red yarn - I would probably get a thinner yarn or thread. Start along the forehead part with the darker red yarn and continue around down through the neck area for a few rows/knots. Then keep going upwards towards the crown with black yarn. The hardest part would be to cut and shape the yarn/thread to make those whispy cuts. But it definitely can be done using the knotting technique I show in the video.

Muito obrigada!
these are so cute!!!! cannot wait to try this!., I love the glass head also. where did you buy the hat by the way?
Thank you so much! I believe Target for the hat. Glass head at Pier 1 imports.
thank you
Pro tip!: if you want it to look more realistic you can get a metal brush (dog brush lice brush etc.) And brush ends to up because if you dont it wont work well then flat iron to style it 😊
You’re better off untangling the yarn by hand since brushing it will break the yarn (and make it too short)
Thanks for the great pattern. Also can you please tell me where you got the glass head?
Shelia Wilson Thanks for the kindness! My local Pier 1 store carries the glass head. About $16.
Ewwwe thanks, I'll check there

This is awesome my daughter will gonna love it for sure, thank you for the knowledge 😍
So let's say I'm making a bun out of this kind of the way you did the anna style, would it work?
amillionflights Absolutely - the yarn wig can act like normal hair. You can tie it up and twirl it into a bun, etc.
amillionflights ERZA
AMAZING WIGS CAN YOU DO MORE
Wow!!
Amazing Video! I am also a Gaint Anime cosplay Nerd on my Channel lol
I am thinking of trying this! Since I am low income and would like to know a ball park figure on how much one would be! Thank you

Would this same process work using a crocheted beanie instead of buying a cap?
DRmakeupgirl Absolutely! You can use a handmade knitted or crocheted beanie instead of a store-bought cap.
thankyou!
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Offgrid Farmsteaders Thanks for stopping by :)
Can this wig also be used as a hat??? Please answer quickly!
Yes
+ naztazia you can untie the twirls and flatten them and comb it looks like real hair
michelle ganbaatar you can! you can use much thinner yarn to also make it look more like actual hair. for this video, we wanted to look more like "characters" as opposed to having normal hair.
حلو كثير وكل اشي بتعمليه بكون سهل نعمله ❤❤
I have a question regarding crotchet. If you use worsted weight yarn when the pattern calls for araan yarn will the product come out different?
Anime Kaur Hi! Aran yarn is slightly thicker than worsted weight yarn, so your finished item should come out slightly larger with aran yarn than with worsted weight yarn. This might not be much of a problem if you are making a blanket, but it could be a problem if you are making something like a sweater where you want it to fit correctly as the pattern states.
naztazia ok thank you very much and keep making great videos!
