Correct me if I am wrong, but horses have 4 types of locomotion, walk, trot, canter and gallop. In wild west movies, horses are galloped for hours, when in reality they struggle to do a mile in a gallop. For long distance purposes, they would canter and could do 20 to 30 miles a day, and one must remember that this was the only way to transfer news before the 19th century.
there are 4 basic gaits. but some breeds have extras on top of that. standardbred are known for pacing (which is shown in this video) and many other breeds do a sort of fast walk/flying walk that is excellent for fast travel, and very smooth, that is known by various names. tolt, running walk, rack, foxtrot, paso, etc. horses that were ridden long distances like the "wild west" typically cantered or loped (same beat pattern as canter, but a bit slower, and VERY smooth), OR you had a gaited horse, and it was prized because the ride would be more pleasant than other breeds.
This is excellent thank you!!! It’s so helpful being able to see is slowed down yet still be anatomically relevant to compare with actual horses. Thank you ☺️
@@nicolemelo8994 if you know how real horse do their gaits because you’ve seen it on videos or in real life then you would know that is not how they do it

Pace is a gait specific to icelandic horses. They also also have a gait called tölt, so they have six gaits in total

They do not canter 20-40 miles non-stop. They never have.
Brilliant and so helpful!

It was so helpful. Thanks🐎
thanks
the canter and gallops the only more or less realistic thing on here tho💀
Thank you for this!
trot is opposite legs move. pace is same side two legs move in sequence.
Exactly. They had both pace and trot correct
its really stiff but a good way to show how the feet move
nice
Amazing, till now i knew trotting and galloping
Thank you! Very helpful for us quadrobics and therians!
Head quite high
some trot here looks pacer.
Nope. It was a trot, you can tell the difference if you pay attention to their legs
Мы будем эту лошадь завидовать конюшню😊
They don't really look like that irl
The flashing border hurts, but otherwise really good!
i wish i could do this
Is this blender3D animation?
This is so cool.
Is there one for dogs??
This is amazing for my daughter and me, who are both learning to ride!
Just saying by what I know: Pace's are slightly faster than trots :D
And tölt is even faster than that, but much more comfortable to ride than any of the other gaits imo. :)
@@Alucard45000 At least in Icelandic horses the flying pace is a lot faster than tölt.
@@yasunagiri yes but we're talking about a regular pace, not the flying pace
The horses back knees are a little low but other than that it's a pretty good reference
The hocks? They were fine compared to the rest of the horse.. 😅
What app😊
Wait im so confused isnt trot the left front leg and back right leg up the other two down then they switch?
Yes. That’s what happened
@@thatcrazy_equestrian275 mb I was looking at the pace
Can you do cat gaits please?
❤
Where's the amble?
Tölt?
❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Ну не все же лошади с таким аллюром! Есть разные породы лошадей и в каждой свой аллюр . Например Пасо Фино. Или Перуанский Пасо
So where is loping?
Loping has the same 3 beat foot placement as the canter, it’s just usually slower and western instead of English
No mate- that's not how horses walk trot canter gallop or jump
it is
@@Kiwi_Wcue no it ain't
Fr
Go ahead and explain what's wrong then
@@nicolemelo8994 if you know how real horse do their gaits because you’ve seen it on videos or in real life then you would know that is not how they do it
