    Lol Phil is so biased even before hand 😂 these quizzes are designed to help you discover your particular thought patterns so that you can better understand yourself for the sake of improving your interpersonal relationships (and yes, esp within the context of marriage). Sometimes you know how an apology doesn't feel satisfying, or you're having trouble forgiving? Understanding what you were hoping for or expecting can help in that aspect.
    On a side, Taylor, you're hired for the acting job.

    This was a lighthearted episode about a topic that could be quite dark. I think learning to (eventually) forgive is more effective in order to move forward in life than waiting for a specific type of apology. Although depending on the severity of the action, forgiveness is easier said than done even if the apology is sincere.

    • @katyb2793
      @katyb2793 5 років тому +1

      i think too, we need to work towards forgiveness even if we dont have an apology. because unforgiveness only ends up hurting ourselves.
      that doesn't mean we have to necessarily trust that person tho. boundaries can be healthy. (not in the context of marriage anyway)

  • @arie5440

    I got the same thing as Taylor. I got 6 on Genuinely repenting then 4 split between expressing regret and accepting responsibility. I kinda agree as I think apologizing should have a corresponding action afterwards and I also answered some of the questions where both parties can work together to strengthen the relationship. That’s what I thought some of the choices was about.
    I love it. This is a good topic y’all did ❤️

  • @sarahhamdan5470
    @sarahhamdan5470 4 роки тому +1

    I got ecpressing regret ,I think it is because it shows me that that lerson truly cared about what we had, which implaments they will do better in the future, I think (caring) is the most important thing, and I wouldn't ask for anything else if I feel cared for in that way, but it needs to be sinciere.... soooo the result made sense!

    My apology language results were split between accepting responsibility and making restitution. So, for me it would be important for my boyfriend/husband to admit his was wrong and try to find a way to fix the the situation

    Phil: 4:25 when has an Asian mom ever apologise to you.?🤣🤣🤣so true! 100% I feel like I can let go of some anger and resentment after he said it with such humor, like I can start forgiving my parents because everyone’s parents who are Asians behave the same.

    I like this test because with each question, I would automatically link it with a person in my life, and based on their character, I chose which apology I want to hear from them. With that approach, it's really easy for me to choose the answer
    ie: for my parent, I chose the simplest version of apology because I know, simply hear an apology from them is more than enough for me :)) , while with other person, it would be different.

    I feel like a lot the Asian parents' way of apologizing is buying/making the other person's favorite foods for them and just saying "I'm sorry" with their actions. Cuz you know..... our parents will NEVER say "sorry" even thought they genuinely feel bad.

    hello mwf, belated bday cards and holiday cards do exist right - xmas gifts do not have belated merry cards. the problems are the first and second runner ups about on-time gift giving and phone calls with phone calls with call waiting. my older ones they do not know how to call wait and get a call to let us (one of the kids) to wish and say merry or happy - my olders also do not want to say what they opened - this year we got this from this person and this person and that person mailed us this - did you remember to walk out and stroll to a dim sum restaurant. remember to eat with our people and eat shumai or walk to a ramen store and their shumai to be chinese 'child'. they are right first. elle for old is old

    • @elmcloudtt
      @elmcloudtt Рік тому

      my olders truly and madly believes in allowed NO's - you should always take the person out to eat for a simple quick sorry. you should be at the table to eat and pay it. am tired of the parents paying at restroom run.
