They're awesome together. I'd love to hear like a pod of them just talking about whatever they want for an hour on a sunday. Everything from pets to bikes/cars to tech.
Jay's really a natural at this. There are times in some videos that aren't his where he buckles and stuff, but you can really see that the guy was born to host. If anything, this is a testament as to how Jay and Steve work well together.
I mean, for the price they're selling these hardware, reviewers like GN have every right to be overly critical. Hell, everyone should be over critical when it comes to hardware like these.
Hands down two of the coolest and most genuine UA-cam tech reviewers in one vid. I appreciate the content both of you guys put up. Thank you both for your efforts, some might see dollar signs, I see commitment, work ethic, and a genuine care for your subscribers. Seriously thank you, and kudos to you both, it's good too see there's still cool honest dudes our there.
when you are subscribed to all of them... you really get fooled! when i saw Jay talk, nothing felt wrong and i totally got fooled! only when Steve is like "this is my show", i exit full screen and see the channel! lol
That's why I watch Jay ,Steve, linus, paul, Kyle, Sstudio, tech yes, tech deals. Hardware Canucks... you tend to get all the facts.. good or bad and none of them are afraid to dislike and criticize a product..
They all have their own personality. I really do not understand why some people hate some of them. It probably has to do with the ads and people associate ads and sponsors with selling out.
If the rest of the world got along as well as fellow tech tubers do the world would be a way better place. Amazing video and id give up a kidney at minimum to work at that amazing workshop.
It's surprising how you tend to respect even more a UA-camr like JayzTwoCents after seeing where he came from, where/what he's been working with, Etc... Ambition and Hard work, props !
Really cool. I could listen to these two talk about non computer stuff all day! I really like the behind the scenes stuff. I guess my 40 yr old side is kicking in when i'm really interested in work bench material and table tops.
These conversations and tours are better than going there yourself, seriously, I was at LMG today and it was great, a well developed production studio, but the Q&As are more important, you get so much more out of them, thanks GN!

Man I love both you guys and its awesome that neither are playing it up for the camera, just normal people in the same industry working hard and talking shop. I believe after this big UA-cam boom, it will settle down and be more of this. Well I hope, their will always be people going to far
Wow that's so cool, I like how some of the hardware youtubers try to support each other and be friends. Not all are like that, I've seen other youtube communities sabotage and talk crap about each other. Keep it up guys.
For ez to make, very nice sound panels, consider stepping up to rockwool. build a frame with 2"x2" or 2"x4" boards in 2'x4' or 2'x8'ft lengths. fill with the rockwool batts and cover with fabric using staples to hold it tight. Its the same thing as you'd find in the walls of recording studios, its easily movable and fire resistant too. My recording studio started as 4 concrete walls, but theres no reverb or echo now, and outside sounds are absorbed as well. These panels bought from companies are $300 or more, but its $30 in supplies. for more info, search "diy rockwool sound panels"
I loved it when Jay mentioned the plant and Steve was like "Yeah (pulls collar nervously) hahahaha" Great to see both you guys supporting each other's channel, Keep up the good work gentlemen!
You two are some of the best people in this area and you are both honest and have integrity (not that others don't) so it means a lot seeing you guys hang out even.....or do insane PC epeen competitions...or really anything!
The conversation you guys were having about how being an enthusiast should mean that the person is critical, I wouldn't really think of it as critical so much as discerning. The person is more attentive to details that other people don't realize that they actually care about. They have a more clear understanding of how design details that they view as positive or necessary in products translate into key parts of the experience of a product being positive for a larger group of people. I think enthusiasts are usually just more discerning because they take the time to get more information and look more into the details and specs of a product to make sure they are going to be happy. I don't think that is necessarily someone being critical. Maybe this point is pointless, but I like that you guys are discerning.
I always enjoy the collaboration video's. The amount of combined knowledge in this video is mind blowing. Thank you both Steve and Jay for everything you do in our Tech industry.
Its been awesome seeing the two of you guys working together. Two of my 3 favorite tech youtubers (Kyle being the third). These colabs are awesome to watch while I'm just getting some work done. Thanks for taking the time to create this content.
'Humble-brag' - you've worked your ass off to reach the point you are at now. It isn't bragging. It is a freakin' metric-ton of damned hard work. Kudos!
Man i really enjoy these real talk videos like they can be boring but they are great to hear feedback from the hosts about whats going on in their heads
hell yea be critical of components! y'alls' analysis and review is what helps the layperson like myself differentiate quality when all else looks the same. keep up the good work!
Always good times seeing how you guys put together the production areas, and getting to hear what thought processes ran through your mind as designs were considered and decided upon. Thanks for the in depth look into Jay's world GN.
Absolutely loved the creative wiring solution that Jay came up with... Kind of thing I would do. Living in the 'grey area' makes life the most interesting...
Pretty brave of Steve to shake Jay's hand after he has exposed himself! :) Seriously, great piece for both of you gents. It's good to see the camaraderie between people that share similar passions.
Hey Steve! I hope you see this! I appreciate the value that you bring to the eco-system, and respect the hard-ass work you do. While I find your content to be dry, I feel that you bring a super deep dive that no one else is bringing to our hobby. I work my ass off at my 12 hour job, and support my wife and her daughter, so when I have the rare spare dollar to spend on this increasingly expensive passion project, you can bet your ass I invest the time to do research, and when going to your channel, I EXPECT you to nitpick and look at each piece of hardware from multiple angles. I know that you can sometimes feel like you are alone in the desert, so I hope my TwoCents (sorry Jay) can brighten your day.
@gamers nexus and @jayztwocents thank you for this. I'm working on starting a channel making similar content to you guys and others and while I'm working inside my bedroom to start I was still able to take some cues from it for gear and other ideas for the future as well. This is the kind of thing all DIYers should strive toward.
Wow really liked this one! People like seeing you two in the same video, whether it's a casual workspace showcase or RIP-series - which btw, please restart!! Loved watching the back and forth videos of you guys battling it out, episode to episode
Amazing stuff thank you Steve! it's so good to see just what kind of things go into what you all have to do to bring the content for us and it truely is a heck of a lot of work! granted this might all be more related to much bigger production styles once your established but its just amazing seeing all the things that go behind the scenes. Great tour again.
Damn it! I love Linus and you, Jay. If I'm being honest, Linus more until now. But there is a stark difference between GamerzN's tour of both your and Linus's office. I can sum those 'interviews' up with two words 'being humble' which you have in spades. Hope you're on the mend since covid brother! Appreciate these are quite old, however, the narrative (esp during WAN show's), has seemingly not changed 'too much' on Linus's side (but still LOVE him nevertheless and he should be proud, perhaps just more quietly). #idolovehimandfeelbadforsayingtheabovebutitiswhatitis

It is very refreshing to see how well two 'Top' tech You Tubers are willing to work together :) Is that a California factor? Here in New York it seems that cut-throat competition is over the top for everything - the 'Zero-Sum-Gain' philosophy just won't go away :(
I love you both, guys. You guys sum up what`s worth to watch and follow on UA-cam. I can absolutely tell that this is not a Jayz2Cents video. There's a different camera being used to shot this one, and perhaps different lighting?
It's nice to see you 2 together. In some way you have mutual respect to eatch others work but also personally. You look very comfortable together. That's not always the case with other 'YT Celebs' you go to. Nice and easy to listen to and of course informative.
I love these office tours, all of them have these awkward moments were it seems like no one really knows what to say but the have to do something to make it more interesting. Not judging tho, love your content Steve.
"Concrete is an insulator." - Jay, 2019 Ok, I'll gladly provide details :o) : There are three types of heat transfer: convection, radiation and conduction. Convection is indirect heat transfer by some kind of fluid flow. Concrete is mostly air tight and, if sealed, even water-proof. So concrete is indeed very effective at stopping convective heat transfer. Radiation is heat transfer in the form of IR radiation. Concrete absorbs most IR radiation, so it's a pretty good radiative insulator. Now for conduction: This is simple heat transfer between (usually) solids "by touch". Concrete has a fairly low thermal conductivity of about 0.8-2.5 W/Km (Watts per Kelvins and meters) at room temperature. Compared with copper's 401 W/Km, concrete is therefore an amazing thermal insulator. Ok, but copper is one of the worst materials for this purpose, of course. If we compare it to an actual building insulator, let's say glass wool (0.045 W/Km), concrete is total garbage for insulation. That said, because of its high mass, when concrete is used to build walls, it can absorb a lot of thermal energy. This means it can level out temperature fluctuations over the day quite effectively. E.g. if you were to build a house in an extreme desert climate with daily temperature fluctuations from 5-40°C (about 40-100°F), then concrete would be fairly effective at leveling these fluctuations to let's say 20-25°C (about 65-75°F) with the same mean value but much less variance. TL;DR: Concrete is not a good insulator, but it can be effective at leveling daily temperature fluctuations.
The rolling bookshelf wouldn't be a bad idea. If you move it behind the camera and give the room a fourth wall, it would help with the reverb. Give it two sides and it could double as two new backdrops or storage.
This is why I like US/Canadian tech tubers. They are mature enough to know they can be friends or at least colleagues and work together in favor of the consumer. I kid you not, when I tried to watch Tech Tubers from my country in Mexico and Latin America, most of what I found was drama, expose videos and videos of them ripping each other a part.

In California, any commercial building is gonna be concrete or steel. Compared to steel, concrete is a great insulator.
Always love seeing Jay behind the scenes. :)
