Hi Jess, When you are dealing with tiny seeds, try spreading a thin layer of vermiculite over them instead of soil. And mist well. You should get better germination. Once they germinate they can see the light through the vermiculite and it will make them come up quicker. Have you tried the yellow strawberry yet? I never heard of it before but I ordered 4 plants and I'm growing them now. I will save the seeds 😊 Have a great day and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗🥰 LUV U 👹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
i use vermiculite and perlite, but im going to try this and add a bit more when I am doing it. Thankyou so much for this tip, I really appreciate it! happy gardening
You have to snip the tie between the mother plant and the runner once the runner has roots (I’ve had best success rooting them in those thin fabric pots with a little soil tied onto the runner. Once its got little roots snip it off the runner and plant it in its own pot
Great video Jessie!! I learned that I probably need to clean a bunch of strawberries with your method. I bought a bunch that were on sale. I freeze them for my smoothies. Next time I'll soak them and clean them first like that. I also learned more about your plant journey beginnings along with your strawberry challenges. I really enjoy your long form videos along with your shorts.
Man, I gotta try planting strawberries. Maybe next year, I'll make another raised garden bed just for strawberries. This is my first year gardening and so far my plants are looking good. Aside from my potatoes, I'm not sure if they'll grow. I live in a very sandy part of Manitoba and I decided to see if I could grow potatoes like everyone was telling me I could. Every other one of my plants are in a raised bed with peat moss and soil.
Honestly, plants (or fruits) are easier to plant accidentally than intentionally... Like one time, my dad threw his mango seed on his garden as fertilizer, months later, very lil mango tree grew. Had to take it off (bcs we already have the big one) and idk what happened to the tree next. The other time, my dad tried to grow some melons, well it did become melons, but it was horrible~ then the plant died. Currently my dad has eggplants, bell peppers, okras, pineapple tree?? and some other plants that I forgot it's even there
your video made me want to try this out! I used a vegetable peeler to peel off the skin then put those skins seed side up on a plate then let those skins dry out for a day or two. After they dried out the fruit was stuck to the plate but all the seeds were loosely attached and came off just by running my finger over them. doing this i managed to get all the seeds off of a pack of strawberries. literally thousands.
the white jewel strawberries! they are really rare because they are bred in japan only. but if you succeded, you have bred a rare strawberry if you continue to grow them!
I live in tropical country and hot climate, ever luck to sprout my own strawberry from seed but they don't even last 1 week before died, I put them in Coco peat perlite mix and it stay moisturizered and cool throughout the day ,not sure what's going wrong
heyy just wanna say that im so sorry bcs ive once hated on you just bcs i thought you were going to grow millions of what you tryna plant, but in fact just a little. but i LOVEEE watching you videos, you voice is just so soothing for me to hear. so im so sorry againn and hope your journey of planting goes well🌷😾
@@growithjessie thanks, i've always wanted to try growing fruit (though my country's climate may not be the best for it, maybe when I go north I can try.)
First, don't use a blender, it can damage the seeds LOL! Second The "red strawberry" is pineberry (just scrolled back in the video, it even says pineberry on the container), not a strawberry. its the result of a crossbreed between a white strawberry from south America, and the traditional north American strawberry. It's called a pineberry because the taste is similar to a pineapple, though there's some debate on that. Japan has nothing to do with it.....
yah!!!!! there is one that lives in a park called Trinity Bellwoods. It's famous. a coffee shop is even named after it! if you see it, you are deemed lucky!
What on the holy heck??? White squirrel?? ❤❤❤ never seen in my life. We grew white strawberries ftom costco too. ',,pinespple strawberry ' fruit came later thsn my evergreen, and regular reds. And tasted nasty. Like 3 day ripe window, then ...mush. Costco...smh
Ha! If I was 30 years younger I'd be asking the same thing. She's a darling isn't she? Good luck. She's also very inspiring. I think I grew both dill and sage from seed because of her.
Can you like just talk normally? Why do you constantly do a high pitched sped up voice? Are you trying to be funny or cute or something? Cause you are overdoing it.
The fact that her mom said to "plant the plants" and she understood after she died and made growing plants a part of herself is so heartwarming ❤
Thank you so much 🥹🥰💚🌱
@@growithjessie keep on growin'! (Literally)

We would love to send you fig seeds from our rare Fig Trees
Do you have to have more than 1 fig tree in order for them to cross pollinate? Or do they have all they need?
omg. i would love that. are you in canada? msg me on insta!
they can get pollinated by wasps!

yes they are
Putting the seeds in a ziploc bag and tape on the window is such a great idea
One strain of the white strawberry is actually called a “pineapple strawberry” because the flavor is reminiscent of the pineapple flavor.
no wayyyyy. i love pineapple, and i love strawberries. so i definitely want to get my hands on that
They call them pineberries here. I’ve been looking for some to plant.
they are supposed to be a hybrid of pineapples and strawberrys , look like strawbs tastes like pine.. Apples hence the name pineberries 🌿
I LEARNED THAT HERE FROM THE COMMENTS, HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!

make sure it has a lot of sun, and in turn it will also need a lot of water, and then the sprouts should sprout up in 4-8 weeks after planting
i absolutely love you and your videos!!!!!!!!!
Girl you are hilarious 😂
I tried to grow strawberry from seed it won't sprout like how long does it take for the seeds to grow
Not only you who have an obsession with strawberries

How come once in a while when you are speaking you all of a sudden turn into a southerner?
Im living for lathe berry puns.
HAHAH
Do you have to water daily?
Im doing both!
Btw i love you❤
it depends on how much sun you have. if you have a ton, water daily. if only a little, water 2-3 times a week
}Those white strawberries are actually pineberries!!! :D
You should try the cotton candy Grapes
i've made a few vids about those before, they are so awesome
