In a hundred years time when you and me are nothing more than a few words on a memorial website, these two will still be spoken about, still being watched and still being praised for their work.
Great show from a truly golden time in British comedy, ...Steptoe & Son was one this country's finest ever sitcoms, great writing and wonderful character acting......classic
Couldn't have said it better myself, mate! Galton and Simpsons writing is legendary and was shamefully plagiarised by John Sullivan for 'Only Fools and Horses'.
THE WAY HE SCOOPS THAT EGG UP AND PUTS IT ON HAROLDS PLATE PRICELESS I DONT NO HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE WATCHED THESE TWO LOVE THEM WHAT ABOUT ME LOL IN THE SERISE THEY DIDNT HAVE AN INSIDE BOG YET IN THE FILM THEY HAVE ALBERT EVEN GOES ON HONEY MOON WITH THEM LOL LOOK AT THE STATE OF THE KITCHEN , YET ALBERT GETS FOOD POISONING IN SPAIN FROM A ULTRA CLEAN KITCHEN LOVE IT
@@adrianridgway4333 In fact the second film wasn't as popular as the first one, this was the reason why a planned third film to be made in 1974 was not done.

This is not only a golden comedy but really a tragic movie Albert's selfishness ended up driving a wedge between Zita and Harold. The poor girl knew he'd never let them be happy and she thought to hell with this. Poor Harold then ended up looking after a baby that probably wasn't his briefly, and finding out Zita got pregnant and a child just not to him. Albert does love Harold but it's a really selfish love, where as Harold loves him and hates him but still won't walk out on him. But there was obviously apart of Harold that was never gonna trust Zita but I think she really did care for Harold, and wanted to make a go of it.
Great acting from 2 fine fellas who supposedly didnt get on.the twist and turns of situations down at oil drum lane shepherds bush love it and mike reid on stand up in the movie as well saying dont forget to shake it will ya.priceless and timeless classic of the golden age of comedy 😂
Morecambe n ....a think they cut the " bleeding wise " out , I definitely seen it on the pictures years ago and he said . " Morecambe and bleeding wise " ...
Galton and Simpson, the creators/writers wrote the first movie as being more darker than the television stories, and the reaction from the public was very good, but they commented that the second movie should be much more lighter in tone. The writers did this, and the second movie was not as successful.
It was a brilliant series; I remember it fondly, but it did destroy Harry's serious acting career as no one would give him any serious parts after Steptoe
The best episode for me was when Harold got married and they brought the ould fellow on the honeymoon to Spain , him on the beach with the top coat on , Harold im’e to warm .😀
@@tonyluxton3726 Thats right but this wasn't the second movie Steptoe and Son Ride Again was about them losing the horse and getting the dog and owning the local mobster money

1.51. The fried egg being scraped up off the floor and onto the plate was classic Steptoe.

Wilfred bramble was the best actor the uk ever had
Yes both of them were
that is probably a bit of an exaggeration .
Best British comedy ever !
Rare that a tv sitcom translates to the big screen but the two Steptoe movies could stand alone even without the tv series
I think the second did a better job than the first
Well, it seems kind of common for british sitcoms. Giving how many shows got made in to a movie.

Albert's voice is much softer than in the TV show..mustve been something to do with being able to be understood by overseas viewers
He married the chick out of survivors
Was brilliant In only fools and horses , bit of a coincidence in the name right enough , actually being fools with horses .
What are you talking about neither of them was in only fools and horses????
What's the small photo on the right of Norman Bates that appears at beginning of this, from the film Psycho about?
