Very very well done. We not only need to train visually impaired person but also other persons in sighted guide techniques.

Good information! I'm not a VI person, but I consider it very important to be an informed citizen.

I travelled all over Thailand then to Myanmar and Laos with a bind man. We went on jungle tracks, rode on elephants, waded in the sea and went to countless temples, parks, shops, museums and even traveled down the Mekong river. There were often no sidewalks so it was not easy and in these areas people give strange looks at blind people because they believe that the disability is proof of bad karma. It was an interesting experience and often my friend walked behind me with his hands on my shoulders when the conditions were difficult Thanks for a good video. As I was serving as a guide I also did my bets to describe the things we saw; scenery, people, rivers, temples and so on.

Came to this video through pure accident. I guide a blind runner and I realise I have no idea how to guide him properly. We have shared great adventures while I am his eyes. What a brill video I have learnt so much... Thanks

Good video. It often amazes me how often people will speak to a guide dog and ignore the person using it, or try to push the visually impaired person into seats to "help".

Same applies for us Wheelchair users we are spoken down, and or our carer or guardian is spoken to when in fact the conversion is for the Special Needs person, I prefer this to Disabled. I was out with relative when this happened and this relative realised the conversation was to me not them and said to person the lady, you're wanting to talk to is in her chair in front of you speak to her at her level not over her head and or to me stop being so very rude you be very very surprised how often this happens some are quiet nice at our and accidently realised there mistake and apologise others can be very rude and aggressive about it

Thank you for this video. I’ve often wondered how to help vision impaired people and how to tell if they might need an offer of help.

Well done I do appreciate this video I wish more sighted individuals would take the time to watch something like this
I’m just a few years into being a little vision blind person and it’s been amazing some of the strangest things that people have done like being in a hospital where a person stood behind me grabbed both shoulders and started staring me felt more like a Perc walk then being assisted and I’ve had all too many times people grab my cane and try to help me find things with my king and I politely ask him just tell me which direction the item is in I will be able to find it and sometimes people pass the stupidest things well don’t you see that well no I don’t see that so thank you for the video

I’m blind in my left eye but since it’s not obvious people get annoyed if I ask them to point something out. So I stopped.
