It's all going to HELL
I stopped caring a long time ago.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 ty sir. I believe you will share this, here's your Undisputable truth about money.......... it begins with the human condition called duality. Money is a measurement of so called wealth, and in order to have, you create the condition of have not. So therefore, "zero" would have to be "absolutely nothing" in order to measure anything, + or - respectively. With that outta the way, its nonsense to think a 1000 dollars would be greater than 100, 10, or 1, because it doesn't matter how much nothing you put in front or behind something, it's still nothing. people = wealth.
That's why America's letting every1 in, and china's technically richer than us lol. Your ssn is like the sticker they put in a cows ear, and they use that to compare wealth or financial stability, with other countries. MAN POWER = POWER OF MAN. @@deanbutler3264 Nothing except the permanent. Everything that is changing cannot be real. Everything that appears out of me, distinct from me cannot be true.
'...to play fair with each other.'
Well that's never going to happen.
I do believe that most basic humans are honest people I think we've been programmed into not being that way. After all it's greed that runs our world.
Not under the conditions of a survival system that is perpetuating the worst conditions that trigger the worst behaviors for self-preservation reasons, selfishness, competitiveness and greed, hoarding, property.
Playing fair is against the nature of having possession's, or else we would be in mud huts. I would say that infrastructure equates to money where the land can be made productive. Civilization's are successful or not based on land quality, and connectivity. Limit one or both then extraction, or the lack of it is all you have left which is temporary, and cannot be sustained so becomes the same thing. A desert has to be paired with good land to make capital.
Supply and demand are all that matter. People will charge as high a price as they can. Money is just a medium of exchange and has no value.
The Venus Project from Years ago has some interesting ideas.
A tool of greed, yes, because it doesn't spoil like everything else and so allows hoarding into infinity and beyond. And greed is a self-preservation mechanism, a reaction to scarcity, which the (monetary) market system is based on and perpetuates, greed is hoarding and the result of hoarding is property, which again is causing scarcity, because what one has too much of is missing for others to survive, it is bad enough by nature, but money increased it to such a level that individuals hoard basically the entire planet and so control all of humanity with systematic blackmailing which they call "money incentive".
The (monetary) market system evolved from a system of self-preservation to an anti-economy and finally to a cancer ideology, because to try to overcome artificial scarcity created by property and the contract law, exponential growth of consumption is required for artificial demand for labor, which means overproduction and extremely wasteful production, consumerism, planned obsolescence, etc., turning limited means into exponentially growing waste mountains, while the non-ideological definition of "economizing" is to make the most use of limited means while avoiding and reducing waste. Unfortunately Watts didn't get it and got stuck in that "energy" nonsense, while energy is actually a great example for how to know value, energy is expressed in SI units, like every real value, this is what is required instead of the absurd abstract token money that represents nothing but itself. He made some valid points here, but completely failed on the the underlying ideology, the actual system that is based on scarcity and inefficiency, abundance, sustainably, longevity, peace, health.... is the death of the market religion, no problems can be solved but more must be created to preserve and create jobs, it is a war on progress and freedom aka. unemployment.
Spread this truth.
How can $1000 be greater than 100, or less than 100,000? It truly doesnt matter how much "nothing" you put in front or behind something, its still "nothing"...
But spread is time, and time is another illusion. And spread is still believe in false valuation. The faster the information propagate the faster the effect appears the more people are stressed. Economy is for machines.
@33beatzmusik yes but in our reality it will take 15 years to dsae 100,000 and alpt less for 1000 so it is very real in our reality. Trust me I was homeless for 4 years

What happened in 1971? It's a long story, but fundamentally what happened was that the U.S. Dollar was no longer guaranteed by the government as being worth $35.00 in gold.
Say what?
Your currency represents the wealth labour produces and that which lies in the natural resources of the borders of the political State you live in. Gold has been used down the centuries by humans as a money commodity representing a more or less stable amount of socially necessary labour time. Stick a pin there.
"August 1971. With inflation on the rise and a gold run looming, President Richard Nixon's team enacted a plan that ended dollar convertibility to gold and implemented wage and price controls, which soon brought an end to the Bretton Woods System." In other words, the value (value as understood by Aristotle, Smith, Ricardo and Marx i.e. the socially necessary labour time embodied in the commodity known as the U.S. Dollar) was not being reflected in the price set by the U.S. government. Floating the U.S. money commodity in the world market led to a big surprise for "consumers", the price of everything rose and rose a lot to meet their values as expressed in U.S. dollars. Price usually fluctuates around value with the winds of supply and demand. Today the U.S. dollar is more in tune with its market value (the socially necessary labour time it represents in wealth produced within the U.S. by workers), to wit: $ 1,846.94 per ounce of gold.
Meanwhile between 1971 and now, all sorts of hanky panky went on in repricing the value of labour power i.e. wages in a stagnant or downward way. The capitalist class saw an opportunity to deal with declining rates of profit by unhooking wages from the surplus value which was being produced by labour. You'll see this decoupling, if you pay close attention to all the graphs in the link below. Productivity is essentially measured as output per hour of labour. While real wages (wages adjusted for inflation) stagnated, productivity increased, leaving workers less and less of the social product of their labour to use, even as taxes for the capitalists were cut, along with cuts to the social wage i.e. public health, education and welfare all in order "to balance the budget".
Interestingly enough, while these graphs are mostly centred on the situation of the U.S. working class, the ACTU in Australia published a study which came to a similar conclusion about productivity of wealth and workers' share, to wit: that the Australian working class have 13% less of a share of the real Gross Domestic Product now than they did in 1975.
There are lots of graphs here, not just the one pictured below. Take a look, read 'em and weep. Workers have been taken to the cleaners by the buyers of their labour power, the employing capitalist class.

We're already in a depression. No one wants to admit it. But when you cant buy with money, then your effectively in a depression whether you know it or not. The only real question is how deep will this depression take us. Will it cost us our homes? Will it cost us our jobs? Will it cost us our family members? Will we, ourselves live to see the end of it? Its a real concern. I think Ive seen where 12 million Americans died of starvation during the great depression of the 1930s. Ive not heard of how many lost their homes. Its been estimated that only 25% of the population became unemployed during that time. I have heard some people say that this depression will be worse than the 1930s depression. And I try to encourage everyone to get a small partial of land to grow food on. Trucking companies will go bankrupt and no one will be bringing imported food to your grocery stores because of run away inflation. Hang onto your land and learn to grow your own food. Your life may depend on it. Sorry about the doom and gloom, but preparing for the worst and hoping for the best is all we really have as things deteriorate further. Help your neighbors. This will build bonds that will help to sustain you. It is the wisdom my grandfather passed down to me and now I'm passing it on to you. What actually happened during the Great Depression, any good suggestions?
General Market Saturation, the point when people have enough of everything that is not used up and reduce consumption and so demand for labor, increased by technical efficiency through technology.
The Great Depression was the natural end of the (monetary) market system, because market saturation means abundance and abundance can't be sold, there is no point in trading if abundance is given. But it counts only for those who had money to satisfy their needs, to reach global abundance a global UBI is needed, which cause a consumption boom like never before, business would move and expand and this way the missing infrastructure would be built, meanwhile data could be collected to use it for feedback loops, efficiency protocols and production and distribution algorithms for Cybernetics, a self-adjusting adaptive system that makes sure that there is always enough but never too much and is reducing waste this way, a true economic system by the definition of economizing, making the most use of limited resources while avoiding and reducing waste.

Money is used as a measure of value. It is never an accurate measure of value because value is constantly being determined by the economic relations between people. If all the paper money disappeared and people returned to using precious metals or other materials that are scarce that would still represent a store of value. Everything is a store of value to the degree it is valued. That is why money is an illusion. Its value could disappear if no one valued it. In a nuclear war paper money would revert to the value that paper has. Food would be used as a form of money. Money is inert. It is not the problem. Peoples relationship to the problem of survival is where the difficulties with money arise. People blame externalities for the corruption but do not see that the source of corruption arises out of the inner self's relationship with externalities. Money is not the problem. Humanity is the problem, or more specifically humanities relationship with Pain & Pleasure, Suffering and Death.
The only way to measure value are SI units, money doesn't represent anything but money, it can't represent anything alone because of the fact that money doesn't spoil, but this fact makes money to a tool of greed, it allows hoarding into infinity and beyond.
It is impossible to stop something that can't be replaced. What does the world do?
Watts did not get to the nitty gritty of things, but rather made it seem more mystical .It is not complicated at all to change and the world was not always like this. Clue : Andrew Jackson's greatest accomplishment. And it lasted until 1913.
Sometimes I wonder, does the channel creator actually give AF with all the moving music and is doing something good themselves since obviously they are making “money” off these videos from someone else’s mind and thoughts. Some would call in the comedy world a hack but it’s not that you see, it takes time and effort to assemble this content, to which maybe the creator feels deserving of their “money” for his/her sustenance. Who’s worse, the homeless guy with endless excuses or the billionaire with his explanation in his deposition and congress spiel for destroying the world is necessary. Which one are you.
In a system where your survival is not dependent on existing resources and productivity but on some absurd abstract token like money, you need to get money to survive, just look at reality at what people are forced to do to get money to survive in a world of extreme abundance. Pretty simple thing actually, might spend some serious time on education to train your brain to logical thinking.

I love how this talk exposed the status quo bias that exists around our relationship with work and money. It’s so true-people cling to outdated systems and resist change, even when technology can eliminate drudgery and improve lives. A family member of mine worked in manufacturing for years, but as automation took over, he struggled to find meaning because of that deeply ingrained belief that work equals worth. This conversation opens the door to rethinking what labor and wealth really mean in the modern age
Alan Watts says what I tell everyone. Money has no actual value...it CAN'T, as it does nothing beneficial.
Fascinating, of course, but knowing all this doesn't help with real life.
This life isn't even real. Think about that.
The hoarding of wealth and the pervasive nature of greed are fundamental contributors to the world's challenges. Humanity often prioritizes money over the well-being of individuals and society as a whole. This is not a complex issue; money is a human invention, not a divine gift. The pursuit of wealth has created a vicious cycle that enables manipulation and control over others. In this context, power and money become potent weapons, distorting values and undermining the greater good.

Absolutely, overdue since the first Great Depression which was caused eGeneral Market Saturation, the point when people have enough of everything that is not used up and reduce consumption and so demand for labor, increased by technical efficiency through technology.
@audiobookfull8 When UBI comes it will cost our freedom!

He was so ahead of his time, it's crazy.. The greed of elite & corporations is/has taken this process away from the people.
3d printers are cool in that they can make anything of any shape only limited by size. One product slows in sales just change the program for a bit and print something else.. no machinery to change just filament. 3d printers to will get better... they never did make it out of that reprap stage of production.... it's still open source stuff. Patents stagnat advancement.
