Imagine you're getting married, this is to be one of the most important days of your entire life. You're on your way to where the wedding is going to be held and there's some short bloke with what looks like a cross between a car and a tank in the worst possible way blocking the road.
the caterham was the MVP of that episode. Also James we in australia would call that "road" a "track" as in a dirt track or a 4wd track sooo, technically it was doing fine on the "track"
I wish these 3 stop ageing and stay energetic , young for centuries to come , entertaining us with such a great content. Never seen a Genius like Clarkson A legendary Crasher like Hammond And a Slow mo like James .
Seeing thumbnail: "This is gonna be mad." Seeing the video: "Please spare me the horrible road." Seriously, Hammond made a huge mistake by uninventing the wheel with his caterpillars.
If they bought sensible things the show wouldnt be entertaining. Even in the African special James sensible car was chosen for its history in the region and being so bloody heavy.
Hammond's car using tracks instead of wheels would've been a good idea in Wales: cold weather and muddy paths, but with heat and rocks, the wheels of those tracks were doomed.
As someone of Malagasy descent (living elsewhere, unfortunately), this is just embarrassing and sad. Between tough terrain, colonialism, and corruption, many of our roads are in shambles. We can never develop our economy without infrastructure reform and modernization. This is sad, but true from an economic standpoint.
Bentley SERIOUSLY needs to turn the MFB into a real car. The Continental has proven Time and time AGAIN that it’s main hidden party piece is just how good it is as Off-Roading
These roads would put modern Ford Raptors and Broncos and Jeep Wranglers and Chevy Colorado ZR2s through their paces. It’s amazing that the only car that broke was the car that was built by the most off road person of the 3
the road wheels were too small for off road use, those tracks were for snow-like conditions. Earlier in the show when theyre on a potholed road you see the little roadwheels flying off everytime he hit a pothole, as in literally being ejected away
Do you think this is the worst road in the world?
Totally.
Yes anyways
Yea it's an off-road road.
1:48 Well, Amazon paying for the restoration would be a descent thing to do. I at least hope Amazon compensated the people you guys blocked.... 😏

James' Caterham is just the coolest thing ever. I want one so bad, and modify it like that.
Except when driving through mud pools in rural areas. Some of them even had turds and smell way bad.

I know, right? I thought the Caterham was already dead.
In this scenario the Caterham was in essence a dune buggy. So it doing so well, was to be expected.

It do looks good tho, really satisfies his 17yo taste
It also didn't help that Hammond was losing parts when he was on the road.
i blame the ford it was on
so wait let me get this straight James told everyone that his friend Mary told that Madagascar has the worst roads ever and turned up in a Caterham
If you watched it, he bought Caterham for Reunion in the first place, not for Madagascar
If they bought sensible things the show wouldnt be entertaining. Even in the African special James sensible car was chosen for its history in the region and being so bloody heavy.
Browny points for James though, the Caterham didn't actually break down the entire journey.
When the idea of the comment goes woosh
In it's defense it handled the terrain surprisingly well. What it failed to do was protect James as it did so 😂

the bentley broke too, plus they don't actually build their cars
The Bentley had problems only because mud filled the radiators. Other than that, nothing went wrong with it.
yes, that broke the radiator hose, it still broke

That's gold I tell ya
Real question is, how did Hammond rescue his Tank Ford - that is, of course if he survived an angry wedding procession
With boring old normal wheels, from a random truck
The wedding party helped out actually. Ended up being very friendly people
Because it's all scripted, and the wedding party (if there actually was a wedding) were locals paid by the production team.
