If you get a chance to visit, the Pima Air and Space Museum that provides the tours of the boneyard is also one of the best military aviation museums in the world. Definitely not a "do not touch" museum. Very fun, even if ur not a big aviation buff!

I wonder if you can buy some of the parts, I've always like the metal USAF insignia on the planes.

Gilly ThaFish Davis Monathan Air Force Base still uses some of these planes for spare parts. Most of them still work, they are stored and sealed up here

This is an awesome place to drive by and see. I was stunned in the video where they claimed there are only 4,400 aircraft in the boneyard. If you drive by you would swear there are 40,000.

If you're in the area of the Pima Air and Space museum check out the Titan Missile Silo as well! It's an amazing experience, the missile and control room are in tact and it's not too far of a drive from the Air and Space museum. They've renovated the control room so the actual panels light up to show what it would look like during an actual launch and tour attendees can volunteer to turn the key

Sincu there shouldnt be any problem, its a cargo plane, not a gunship. Besides, the FBI must know my background.

And some planes here are just stored, worked on, and returned to service, but the majority will be used for parts and then scrapped

There has got to be a better use of all that metal sitting in the desert besides storing it. Recycle that crap. Use the recycled material to produce products that promote peace.
