That’s a great looking model sir… a very interesting subject and one that I will definitely be having a go at!! Glad to see it ‘completed’ as it were… keep up the good work, love the way you do things. 👍🏼😁
Aussie Matildas were used in pretty extreme jungle environments so the rusting is reasonable. Allied military units from all countries swapped supplies and gear when they could, traded with the locals when they couldn't, and "liberated" stuff when they had to. Your choices of colors for the stowage are therefore creative but not unrealistic. I like them anyway.
The stowage looks a bit too unsecure, maybe a few lengths of thin para cord, bungee cords or thin ropes to tie the loose boxes and other pieces of baggage down would be a good idea? And the placement of some of the equipment might effect the traverse of the turret to the rear of the tank. Not a big issue but in reality, I can imagine how easily the stowage would be lost after driving around through rough terrain.
The explanation can either be the loading isn't yet complete. Or some no good punk has stolen the ropes. I did think about it, but decided modelling ropes and such would be a pain in the rear.
i know its a model but that stowage would be lost in ten minutes in thick vegetation and sitting on engine decks is just an invitation for fire or engine over hating but still i love the finished product
Altough some time went by since you build this tank I remember some thoughts of mine like: "Future-Herbert won't be happy about all that stowage pieces when it comes to painting. Attention: cursing ahead!! 😉 I don't know anything about the amount of curses during the painting process. But even if there were some, in the end it was wortwhile. An excellent paint job. Very well done, mate! 👍

looks good I've been wanting to paint one of these up for a while
Nice results.

Also a lot of modellers and aftermarket companies forget that tanks had engine grills and vents. If they were blocked then the engine would over heat!
The marston mats hold the stowage pretty far off the engine deck. I'd say there's plenty of ventilation.

I think it came out great! My brush painting skills aren’t good enough to pull this off. Nicely done!
