  • The new Garrett AT MAX! EDIT: (10/17) In this video I am using a very early "test" model of the AT Max. Many changes have been made to the detectors software since then. Join me, KG and Ringy from the show Diggers as we journey to Europe as the guests of Garrett Metal Detectors to unveil the new Garrett "AT MAX" metal detector at a large rally in Italy. The new metal detector has the combined characteristics of both the AT Pro and AT Gold detectors with added tweaks. This is the day before the rally and we get to try out the new detectors before anyone else. We all had a great time although I was very tired from the trip over. Listen to the chief engineer from Garrett (Brent) as he explains how the machine works. We all find some coins and other treasures. MOAR to follow...

    I was waiting to see the new machine. The backlight alone is worth the upgrade. Everything else would just be a bonus.

      @vr6muppet 7 років тому +2

      My dad has the teknetics omega 8500 and the only feature it has that really makes me jealous is the backlight. I have the AT pro I use most of the time, and a t2 classic as a backup/ loaner. Might be time to ditch the t2 and pick one of these up, depending on what the actual price ends up being. It's a bummer that the wireless headphones aren't waterproof. For $100 bucks more than their listed msrp on this I could buy two at pro's from my local dealer. : / Wish I could try one out before dropping that much on one. The frequency adjustment would be nice, my brother has an at pro too, and in small yards both machines are going crazy when we cross paths.

    • @vr6muppet
      @vr6muppet 7 років тому +1

      I'm curious about the grip too. That's one thing I have never been wild about on my at pro. On long hunts I notice my wrist cramping up faster with the at pro than with other machines I have used.

    3 of my 4 favorite people on UA-cam, now if we can just add nuggetnoggin😊 The new machine looks good, I'm a little disappointed that they didn't make more exciting with more features and design, I'm sure they would sell more. I don't think people who currently have the AT Gold and AT Pro are going to run right out and buy this machine.......and that is where Garrett's mistake lies. Hey Chigger, I hope you make a video when you get back to the states with the new AT Max, I would like to see what you can do with it here. Have fun in Italy!😊

    I ordered one +Aquachigger, thanks to you and all your great vids. I really enjoy them. I live right across the street from a Lake Michigan beach and are excited to lean coin hunting. After I get educated I want to travel to the south and find some Civil War relics. Some people are knocking the AT Max. If all this is true then why would they be so deeply back ordered and there is a waiting list of weeks to get one?????

      6-9-22, Wenatchee, WA, I just ordered my 1st metal detector,a GARRETT AT MAX.AS far as I'm concerned Garrett is the Cadillac of metal detectors and been around since 1972(I was 15 at the time and just moved to Dallas,Texas). Bought a magazine on coin collecting,had REALLY good article's in it but one stood out,read it 100 time's, I was on cloud 9 but the 1st detector I saw in that magazine was a GARRETT and about a year later white showed up in the same mag.Detectors have come a long way since 1972 especially being waterproof in SALTWATER AND FRESHWATER,WOW, THAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE ESPECIALLY SALTWATER.THE ONLY ALLOY METAL'S THAT I KNOW OF THAT CAN WITH STAND SALTWATER (DEEP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN) AND NOT GET OXIDATION IS:GOLD,BRONZE AND TITANIUM.But the bottom line is,since I first got involved in metal detectors back in 1972 and still remember alot of the knowledge from back then I'll be using it to this day.Now in the paragraph you had mentioned why people are wanting the GARETT AT MAX, and that there's a back order on them (which should tell you something right there) I got involved in metal detectors back in 1972 and here it is 2022, it's been 52 years and GARETT is STILL AROUND,WHITE went out of business (because of covid-19,CHINA SHOULD PAY WHITE THEIR 💰💰💰💰💰 BACK !!!! WHERE DO YOU THINK COVID-19 CAME FROM.Sure there are other companies out there but if GARETT didn't make a excellent product then why are they still around?

    Tough Life Guys LOL... AND to all of the naysayers: It seems many were hoping Garrett was going to reinvent the wheel (the metal detector) and instead they took the best features from 2 very successful machines, combined them, along with adding a couple of modern and popular features missing from it's predecessors; a backlight and wireless headphones. Also, made a machine more versatile with enhanced ground balance resolution and optimized the frequency a bit, updated their processors to increase the depth "significantly". All of this for a couple hundred more but still several hundreds less than some of the machines it can compete with if not out perform in the real world. I'd say to Garrett... THANK YOU AND BRILLIANTLY DONE!!! In fact I will... THANK YOU GARRETT! And thanks to Ringy, KG, Aquachigger and Garrett Crew... IGNORE THE HATERS!!!

    • @-meganeura
      @-meganeura 7 років тому +2

      In that price range of the ATpro, and if you will hunt mostly on land and shallow waters I would choose the makro racer 2, unbelievable deep searching, more advanced technology! check it out! I have an ATpro and like it because they are made for abuse and work well, but in my opinion it´s not very comfortable to use, bit heavy and unbalanced, Makro Racer 2 is more powerfull than ATpro even in discrimination of types of targets. best thing you could do is test it and compare booth in a shop!

    Aguachigger, which detector is best in your honest opinion. Garrett AT Gold, Whites MX Sport or this new MAX you are talking about here in this video. I want a good all around detector that can detect small gold but work well in every other environment and be waterproof. I was sold on the AT Gold then I hear it doesn't work in salt water and I seen this one. However the Whites video makes that detector look really well especially picking up targets in iron. Good lord which one is best for under 900 dollars?

      White's Electronics, Inc. Not any at all so far however my wife and I are getting ready to start. We are heavily into detecting, prospecting and RV camping and have several reviews we are planning on doing with our experience in all areas. I buy a lot of things that definitely wish I did reviews on before I bought to share with others. We learn as we go and enjoy being outdoors. Thanks for your replies. In the area where I live (North Georgia) I want a detector that will pick up small gold in the rivers and bedrock but as I said we travel a lot and I want to take my hobbies of metal detecting in all environments. We have a lot of Civil War history at our doorsteps as well so I was just wanting one detector to do it all and be water proof. Garrett has a lot of people on You Tube that obviously gets paid well by them, so finding an unbiased answer is hard. That's why the wife and I have decided to start doing blogs on Social Media and You Tube. Thanks again and have a great day.

    You know, I just ordered my 1st metal detector,a GARETT AT MAX AND ALOT OF EXTRA'S COME WITH IT,been wanting one since I was 15 yrs old.But watching your video I thought,who would fly all the way over to Italy just to go hunting with a metal detector but you guy's talk about drinking beer, I think you guy's should go to AA and get help,glad I didn't go with you guy's, good luck.

    They don't seem to be to serious about the Garrett AT Max.....Cuttin up trying to have fun I guess.....Stevie Ray at Kellycodetectors told me he thinks this will be a great detector......Stevie is a nice guy. I guess we will see when folks start running the detectors.

    it was a fun video but I was specting a better review about the performance on wet sand and salt water, with this review You make me think that the at Max doesn´t handle the beach mineralization too well. I´ll wait for more reviews in salt water/wet sand and then I´ll decide! Cheers GL & HH

    Ah, metal detecting. It combines two of America's greatest natural resources: trash and luck.

    A lot of newer options than the Pro. The wider ground balance, the rubber handle, and especially the back light.
