Loved your video, Malcolm. I'm also considering to start up my transport business as well and found this video super helpful. Great find with the truck man for only 1200 and being in pretty much excellent condition. With all the nonesense working under people that want to rip me off, I figure now its the time to start venturing out starting my business. I know its a challenging feat and a lot of work involved to get going, but I know in the end it pays off. Thanks for the insight, man. And I wish you the best on your business journey!
I own 2 laundromats in low income areas. I work about 25 hours a week and gross about 240K a year. whilst working with an advisor like Julianne Iwersen Niemann. I used to work in Sears repairs,, so I saved money by fixing my own machines. Believe it or not, the soap detergent vending machines bring in a good amount as well. Trust me starting and maintaining a profitable business starts with properly managing your finance.
Laundromats are easy to operate...I know this lady you mentioned. I bought a laundromat from a friend many years ago who retired overseas. Repairs are costly. Try to at least learn the basics. I have bill acceptor machines to exchange for tokens, much better than counting and hauling quarters . My locations are near low income housing and apartments, which are very good for business.
I owned 3 laundromats in SF. The biggest 3 issues? The Lease, the lease and the lease. Got screwed by two owners that didn't renew the lease. If you own the building, different story. Probably, it will not be bad to work with your advisor
thanks for talking about your situation. Definitely helps a young and desperate poor guy like me to stay encouraged in striving to achieve my first ever owned business ... 240 gr. < - electric, water, mechanical, supplies, janitorial, city taxes, county taxes, insurance, business license heat, cooling costs & misc.. = ? . these taxes really want to make me work with a CFA. so that i can know how to joggle my way through. how do i reach her
Thank you for sharing, I must say, Julianne appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her web page, I went through her resume and it was quite impressive.
Lucky, my dad just takes everything I have and lies to me in my face. When he asks for a loan, he never attempts to pay back and gets mad if I ask him for the money many months later. Like, I thought we were on the same team, smh.
it sounds to me like you're talking to a broker for your loads. As a former broker I would highly suggest that you negotiate those rates. You should be able to get a little more money than the original price they shoot you. I know Im a little late on this video but i hope this helps. Good Luck man and stay safe!
Hi there! Do you do videos to teach people how they should negotiate for themselves with brokers, the latest trends and what's a good deal and not. Do you teach strategies and recommend any specific brokers?
Trying to do this as a stepping stone to my box truck business! Figure it will help me build my DOT/MC Authority age (since many box truck shippers want to see 3-6 months of commercial insurance on your authority). After 6-8 months of saving and building my brand and networking with shippers, I plan to buy a non-CDL box truck, hire a full-time driver for the cargo van, and then drive the box truck myself till its paid off. Then rinse and repeat. Thanks for sharing your experience! It was really helpful.
Congratulations! You and your father make a great team! Now This is a great way to help secure our children’s future! Sending them to college for a degree is not the end all be all. No matter what career our children choose, they should also know how to start and run their own businesses. The American educational system usually doesn’t teach students very much about that.
My guy you can make 6 figures. It all depends on the contract that you get and the amount of work your willing to put in. You have people out there getting $2000-$2500 per week using cars and suvs to do medical courier service or other courier services. The fact that you have a cargo van kinda put you in a better position cus it’s bigger than a car and suv. Just have to find the right contracts. Oh it’s local runs too.
Definitely made all the rite moves bro 1,200 for that truck is great and only having to pay $350 for insurance is awesome. I’m in the process of trying to find a van and from watching your video I may have to start off with a mini cargo van as well! Salute 💯

You're right, I never would have guessed that you paid such a GREAT price for that vehicle. It's really a nice find. Do not sell yourself short, you can definitely make six figures with that van.

$350 a month for insurance is a lot but then again, my mindset is car not truck so I guess it's good. This rate scares me but I'm sure it will balance out once I get the business started. I am thinking of renting truck which includes insurance.Question. Can you talk more about payouts? How do you get paid? Cash, direct deposit? Do they pay in advance? Is gas included? Thanks so much for sharing.

1200 isn't bad, but I got my van for $300!!! That's right, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! Now, it has higher mileage (230k) and I had to fix the fuel pump and replace the battery. So you got a better deal, but my up front cost was much lower!
Yea with 230k miles u will have a few maintenance issues to pay for as well. Mine has 140k miles
