a little correction AWT was the original GUI toolkit introduced with the first version of Java (JDK 1.0) in 1996 where as Swing was introduced later as part of the Java Foundation Classes in JDK 1.2, which was released in December 1998. Swing was developed to address the limitations of AWT and to provide a more powerful, flexible, and platform-independent GUI toolkit, in nutshell wherever you said AWT is better than Swing and Swing was launched before AWT You were wrong about it and also when talking about there disadvantages when explaning frames and panels you explain them with the view that AWT is better than Swing which kinda messed up those parts, otherwise good explanation, Thx.
