- If youre serious about selling books on amazon fba, this is something you need to know. Your time is valuable and since we know most books are not worth money, we need to know how to scan books fast. This requires 2 things; a proper scanning app with database and a bluetooth barcode scanner. Without these things, there's no way you can compete in a competitive scenario like a Library Sale, or be able to scan an entire store of books in 1-3 hours vs a whole day. All the links you need to get started are listed below :)

I don't know if you mention this, but you have to have an Amazon Pro account to make Scout IQ work. I'm just getting started as a book seller. Buying a blue tooth scanner, Scout IQ and Amazon Pro account adds up for someone who's never sold a book on Amazon, Reezy. I don't mind spending money on necesary tools of the trade, but you can't even try the Scout IQ 14-day free trial without the Amazon Pro account.
Wow, Thanks Reezy! All these video's about apps and phone things are hard for this old man to understand but I'm kinda getting it. I just got an iPhone 7 last week after seeing a few videos of people scanning books and then running into a young girl at Goodwill doing it the slowest way you showed. I stood behind her for a few and just watched and she had 1/3rd of a small shopping cart filled. I finally asked, "Are you a reseller?" Yes! She showed me 2 old books which were going to yield her a $50 and a $90 profit. I don't know what her profit margins are but you're right; she scanned many books and picked up 1 out of 15 or 20. She sold thru eBay and amazon and just on the Big A alone for January she made $3192 profit and has been doing it since last summer. I wanted to pick her brain a bit more but she was "working" but kind enough to chat with me for a few minutes. She said it's kind of boring repetitious work, especially the shipping which makes most people quit. For her it's either this or some minimum wage job and she's staying with it. I don't know if I can afford $45 a month right now although that will be an incentive to me to keep hustling! Thanks again!
Such a concise video over an overwhelming topic for a complete novice like myself! Even went through the trouble to describing the ScoutIQ app, not just breezing through it. Truly appreciate it, Reezy! You've got a subscriber!
Thanks!! Let me know if there’s anything you want to see that I don’t have ;)
Completely sold me on using database. You broke that down incredibly well, props and thank you 👏
it makes all the difference. One day in a location w lots of stuff to scan and no DB and youll wish you had it
@@ReezyResells Absolutely. I went once and realized how slow live lookup is. Good shit
I've seen a lot of your videos and this is the best demo on working Bluetooth scanner, thank you.
Thanks man! Because of you I'm never slippin!

@@ReezyResells Thanks man!
Very Nice Set Up, I have 4,000 Books, had a serious accident and need Dental Repair. And I'm going full tilt on your advice. Good One , much respect on your Very Logical on your Know how.
Thanks Jerome: good luck
This video will be a game changer for most
I literally watched one of your older videos similar to this this morning to learn about Scout IQ. Talk about right on time! You are the man! Any info on how to list them quickly?
Did you try google? always works for me
This is exactly what I was looking for. Next step I guess is learning how to set up the triggers properly and how to read the info I'm receiving.
Yes, just start swimming, you’ll figure it out. The sooner you make mistakes the sooner you’re in business
same here brother
reezy is nice with the skating
Very thorough video, But simple as well. thank you so much
Thanks Gage
Thank you Reezy for this video. If you can, could you do a video on how you choose the books which you scan. Does the app beep, alerting you on which books to keep and profit from? Keep up the great work! You have inspired me!
Talk about adding value with one UA-cam video. Sheesh!
HI Your's is the best video so far to tell how to EXACTLY use a scanner! I will be ordering the scanner and using free trial for Scout IQ
Love your book choices.
Thanks for the tips.
Great channel.
Loving your videos! Would enjoy a video like this where you scan a bunch of dud books with just 2 or 3 keepers and allow us to hear the beep sound that you referred to that the app makes to indicate that this would be a good one to buy.
Thank you for the showing the timing. I truly appreciate it
Yow... much respect for the scanner that's put in it's time... not a newbie just outtta the box.
Thanks so much for providing all this valuable content bro
Thanks Reezy great content as always!
It amazes me when I see a video like this and it only has 75k views
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ran into this trible today on my first day out
You can use an Eyoyo scanner, they are between $30 and $40 and it works just as good as the more expensive ones
Also ScoutIQ scans video games and audio books
I have heard good things about the eyoyo, def works, just a bit large and hard to conceal. Audio books are in the books category. I believe whole ScoutIQ does scan those other non book categories, I think it’s only in live mode for now??
Reezy Resells I only use live mode and I can scan video games and audio books with my eyoyo. I am pretty big into books, sending in on average 100 per week.
BEST CONTENT AND BOOKSELLING APP STUFF EVER! m a noob
I found myself doing double scans, db and live. This is because I frequently had differences in db & live scan that was substantial enough to affect my decision to buy. I always had a freshly downloaded db from the night before or morning of scanning. I only scan live now.
The reason is 2 fold; 1 the database is not downloaded directly from amazon when you get it, but rather from the server of the app that you’re using. They usually update it once or twice a day. Secondly, there is limitations w the amazon api to what data it allows the scanner to grab. Live is way too slow for pro use. I actually don’t even consider people without database my competition, that’s a hobby seller - you should be buying w database on a slightly loose setting and then double checking w live before you buy
awesome skateboard deck collection
Thanks for dropping the knowledge Reezy
Awesome video. This is the info I needed.
Wow! Way to think young business guy :-) Thank you for the video!
u r the best out there
Nice video. What do you do for books that don’t have barcodes because they’re too old. I’m gonna look through your playlist I just subbed, thank you
All books have an ISBN Number. You type that in, or if it's so old it doesn't have that (pre 1970 or so) you search by the title and you confirm the result is the write edition by matching publication date along w amount of pages and cover image. Sometimes you can also use the optical recognition for the cover using the amazon app
I'm glad you told the truth about used books from the get go...
Tossed a couple scanners out the other day, their rage was precious.
Hopefully they deserved it and you weren’t on a power trip
Thank you so much! Just what I needed :) can you please do a listing and shipping tutorial? Thanks!
Hey Reezy, thx for the content, I have been on Poshmark for awhile and eBay b4 then for awhile also. I'm diving through all of you videos, thx for the content again and where can I buy that "Thrifter" hat, it's 🔥
You kick ass! Ty for your videos
Thanks very helpful video man!
Great info man !!! Thanks!!!
Hey Reezy could you do a video covering set-up advice for setting TRIGGERS Thanks
Great information. I have two questions. 1. Can we use Bluetooth scanner to program to search for for a bunch of Barcodes that we may be looking for so that when it is scanned, it beeps to let me know that I was looking for this particular one.
2. Can you recommend a software for keeping the books inventory and then reducing inventory based on orders and then replenishing inventory based on new stock?
Awesome. Does it only work with books?
Hi such great content, thank you! Do you already have a video on triggers?
It would be nice to know your triggers thanks for the video!
Preach Reezy!! Tell em' all!!!
Great video 😊
After setting my triggers to buy or not to buy will it alert me on my phone through a buy sound or a different do not buy sound? I am just trying to understand after scanning hundreds of books do you put them aside and buy them depending on a sound you hear from the app or do you go back and look through the entire list?
The workflow with accelerlist + amazon central - when you label yourself....I would love to find that (with the updated accelerlist version)
Get em' Reezy!
What up Reezy!? Love the tip vidz. Love the background as well to your vids with the Rob Roskopp decks! Do u make those Thrifter (Thrasher mags logo) hats and beanies. I must buy. Thanks and keep on keeping on!
Thank you! Yes, here’s the link for the hats in Camo/Black www.etsy.com/listing/699318896/thrifter-hat-yupoong-6089m-wool-blend
@@ReezyResells Thanks for the link brother! I will support the cause and buy a beanie whenever they are posted for sale. My and my wife love your vids and learning a lot of thrifting tips from your videos and many others. Absorbing the info like SpongeBob. Much appreciated!
I love you for this. I have been wanting to get into the book business for a while. I want to team up with someone. IS this legal? I have really old books at home that may be worth some money
how well does it work on other than books ?
Not so necessary, you can just use your phones camera as you're not gonna be scanning thousands of items quickly like you will be doing w books
Reezy do you provide the suggested triggers if I was to purchase ScoutIQ. Great videos btw
No sorry that’s only something we share on my
Mastermind
Awesomeness yes
Reezy thanks for all the content I have done all the hard work to scale my amazone store and bring average 4K a month. I want to scale and buy pallets even a container. Wouod you be willing to share with me some places where I can buy in bulk?
Your Opticon affiliate link goes to nadamoo. Just a heads up 😊
Thanks, fixed it
That's so cool, I skate too and was looking at book reselling too. Any tips on ollie? Lol
BTW is it just the barcode or any barcode in boxes where you won't be able to see the item. Thanks man
Thanks Junior :-)
I went to one book sale on Mars, but didn't get to find many books because I was running out of oxygen too fast, lol.
Plus all the book have red sand in the pages
I needs this badly AT&T service has suck for the last two months
It's way more brutal at some ah these libraries. The sales in my area are in basements where I can't get good wifi OR cell signal. Definitely gonna switch to database before the next sale. Very painful lesson to learn jus cuz am too cheap.
Hi do you have a video on buying triggers setups
Nope I do not share those publicly
I have a nadamoo with ScoutIQ data and live but it is not as fast as in the video. Weird
Can ScoutIQ be used for other selling platforms like Ebay?
Nope, it's just for amazon
Thanks, good to know.
Can you use a scanner on the Amazon app?
RR why can't I get this NADAMOO scanner connected to Scout IQ, and Amz Seller Central with my PHONE? The bluetooth connected but that's it. I'm stuck. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPP
This video is pretty old, is there any of the newer barcode scanners that you would suggest
Nope still the best ones
I've decided to sell used books but I can't decide which app to use. I'm wondering why you prefer ScoutIQ over Scoutly? Thank you!
They’re basically the same, ScoutIQ is not only owned by a good friend of mine but also they changed the game w the introduction of “escore” (w scoutly copied). Scoutly actually used to be called Asellertool and they change their name just so that they would show up when people searched for ScoutIQ. They also copied their entire layout. On top of that scout Lee completely neglected the Reseller community and all their input for 5+ years and only decided to start making changes when scout IQ came around and started changing the game.
Scout IQ also hosts regular low cost reseller meet ups and education events where they invite and fly out and pay resellers like me to come speak. At least pre covid anyways. Moral of the story they’re both pretty similar but I choose to use and recommend scout IQ as that’s who I prefer to do business with considering they’re an active member of our community and actually are owned by an active bookseller. Nobody at Scoutly has sold a book or understood the game for 15+ years. TLDR, Scoutly is a Wack company
Just subscribed to your videos how do you switch to Ebay not amazon ...I dont do Ebay and never have done books ...does it work on other products?
Yo Reezy..does is that scanner still applicable in 2021 or are there a new method(upgraded device) to scan books? Thanks brother!
What if the place has no service, no signals?
You weren’t on speed mode either it’s pretty quick if you do it right the scanner will eliminate mistakes
not sure what you mean by "speed mode"
i wanna know how you would grind this out with little or no resources to start. eg car, money
sales on amazon in general
Bus it, uber, hoof it, bike with a basket, electric scooter, sell the stuff you own, look for books or stuff on trash day if you are in an area that has lots of junking, ask family members for donations of there old stuff or books, my uncle finds a lot in his apartment complex trash, good luck
ua-cam.com/video/IltLTakSrfI/v-deo.html
Yo Reezy
What repricer do you use?
Thanks,
Eric
with a scanner should be much better, cos I'm tired of camera getting blurry and not being able to read a barcode
Yep
Does this app only work with books?
I am looking for something that I am not sure exists. I have a storage full of cd's. I have sold music online for years, but am creating a website to sell my own music & cut out sites like amazon.
Part of building my site consists of physically/manually uploading each item, while simultaneously creating an inventory management system. I need a device like a barcode scanner, that can scan each cd upc, create a spreadsheet from each scanned item, and if possible, have software that can interact with the internet & auto-populate public information/date of that upc code from the internet into a spreadsheet cell. Ultimately I would like to have this information so i can seamlessly import it to my e-commerce site and sell it.
Does this make sense? Essentially I want to avoid manually entering data for each item I have. Do any of your products have this capability? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Also, is there a way to pull the database from sites like Ebay & Discogs? This would be so helpful!
I understand that app is used for books, but can you use the scanner with different software to scan other products?
Thanks for all your tips R E E Z Y🤙🏼 Can’t wait til those hats hit the net!!!👌🏼D O P E #thrifter
They are available now!! www.etsy.com/listing/699318896/thrifter-hat-yupoong-6089m-wool-blend
What are some iPhone apps for listing and pricing books ?
Is the Opticon scanner better than the Eyoyo Mini CCD Bluetooth Barcode Scanner at about 1/3 the price?
Where do you normally shop for books?
I just paid $44 on scout iq, So as long as it says approve buy the book . If is says ignore, don't buy them. Correct, Any suggestions.
Do you know if you would be able to use the database mode on a cell phone that has no service?
I live in a town with almost no other booksellers. Problem is, there are limited places to source. Would I really need the scanner or would scanning the barcodes on my phone be enough?
Btwn the cheaper scanbers eyoyo or nadamoo which is the best?
You just purchase based on the number that pops up on the database?
Kind of, the database has all the prices and the sales rank. Sales rank indicates sales volume (demand) and you can see the amount of offers and the pricing so you know the supply as well. You can set custom triggers on the software that will give you an audio alert in your headphones and tell you to buy it. However it’s not perfect if you’re going just by the triggers you’re either going to over buy a little or under buy a little. Triggers are useful for when you need to be very fast but there’s always going to be some I put to the side to double check before I buy it
Thanks man. Tryimg to get my amazon book biz going again after 6 years being out of the country
So I saw the video and got a scanner. How do I open an account and send it to Amazon and make money???
Does it have to be Koamtac KDC200i or could it be the 350/350i? I found it for a good price but I'm not sure if the model makes a difference.
Reezy how can you find the value of a book when it has an FBA label covering the UPC code on a book you are trying to get information about?
Peel it off! Fingernails and hot dragon breath can help 🔥 🐉
@@ReezyResells I think I know what you mean. Thank You.
So after you find the books with scoutiq.. don't you have to still add them to your inventory by scanning them again on the seller central site?
Reezy...binging on the content, but the big question for me is how does most of this content translate for people outside of US? I am in New Zealand so sending books to Amazon is probably not really a viable option for example. Any advice on this?
Is there amazon FBA on NZ yet?
@@ReezyResells Naa... No amazon here in NZ mate.. I think there is a com.au which is our friends across the pond in Australia. Which would be the closest
Are there any 50 dollar scanners you would suggest?
Heres a $40 one amzn.to/33ntSfb
Realistically. If you did this as a ”full time” job how much money would you actually be pulling in regularly?
Depends on how hard you work
Reezy Resells yeah that’s a given. But as a full time job. Putting in the work you would be able to. What’s an average return?
Once you scan the app does Amazon say they will take it or do you have to buy it and be stuck with it?
Hey Reezy last month I ordered a Eyoyo 1D Scanner from Amazon trying as you recommended, instead of this 1D scanner they unbeknownest to me sent a Symcode Scanner instead! Is this Symcode just as good or should I get my money back and order the Eyoyo? Thank you
Why do you choose Scout IQ over FBA Scan?
So thsts fsr but not as dfast in book srorkkn thsy was FBA scanner
Do these scanners only work for books?
hey reesy, i would like to take advantage of the scout iq free trial, but the link is not working! hopefully you can get it fixed, so we can use it, ty
