Lasting Consumption perk on bags increases Fire (and ele pots in general) 5sec per bag, for a total of 15sec.
Making it a PvP perk as well.
Just in case someone is not running it yet.
is that perk stackable ?

in a mage v mage scenario, burnanator v burnanator situation, go for a healing tomb on the weapon IG offhand to cleanse the burns and heal with the potion nerf
Out of curiosity; Does damage or damage absorb perks scales differently PvP vs PVE? For example, If I see a 15% fire damage reduction on an amulet does it scale differently PVE vs PVP (timing or base of damage where the 15% applies to)? Some other video games that mix PvP and PVE, the perks on gear and weapons scales differently depending on which activity you are going in.
i've heard distained infliction is bugged and causing dots to extend to their max duration instead of 5%. would this bug not simply make this burnanator "fix" not really do anything?
I don’t know I haven’t tested Distained infliction yet
From what I understand distained is no longer allowing the previous burn ticks to reset their time when a new stack is applied.
@@Artanthos i dont think that was the distained infliction bug, i think that was the burnanator bug. you can abuse distained infliction without burnanator. you can get 100% uptime on dots with distained infliction, even on dots that should never get full uptime, like firestorm dot. this makes cunning firestorm really good for pve when you can have a 1000+ dot ticking the whole fight, but fucks pvp
As a new player, every time I struggle with getting around this I get told I’m shit lmao I just need to know how best to balance defense and damage output. Where could I start?
Yeah classic new world players. Most of the community that’s left is the most toxic player base. Really just run heavy frigid dawn with a defense artifact and you won’t die make sure you have lots of fortify. Med/heavy are you best bets cause you have accesss to better defense artifacts, fortify more useful, illegal perk combos like frigid dawn, or keen speed heavy Wurm boots. Light armor is really bad and the highest skill gap unless you sit back and ranged people. The best defense for light is feather weight with 2 frigid dawn pieces but with all the vgs and life takers your better off running koyas cause of how much remds there are.

Vigor is a perfect counter for burnanator... Yes it only applies on base burn duration. But the dmg reduction you get is still.very high. Recently, I wanted to test how much overall dmg output increase I get from getting the burning ring perk (25% increase in base burning duration), and I found out by having this perk, I get 1 more burnanate burn tick ,and 2 more smolder tick, and 1 more ignited runeglass tick. I compared the "total dmg output", between just having 250 INT and 250INT +burning ring perk, I had about 8-9% "total" dmg increase. If you go full vigor, assuming you get 3 less burnanate tick and 8 less smolder tick, and 1 less runeglass tick, you will reduce the overall dmg intake by like 25% at least. This is stronger than full flame protection which ONLY primarily applies to fire dmg only, whereas vigor applies to ANY dot dmg types. Don't assume vigor is weak just because it only applies to base duration. Look at how much it reduces the overall dmg intake. (The increase number burn ticks will make less and less difference the longer the fight and I took them into consideration. If you JUST compare one heavy attack dmg difference, 25% duration increase will do 10-11% more dmg, meaning full vigor will reduce overall dmg by like 30%+ dmg intake)
Explain in a short video what Elemental Aversion actually works versus please sir.
Pretty sure everything outside things like fire storm and ice storm if I recall. But there’s usually a million storms non stop so it doesn’t matter. 5 aversions I think mitigate around 600 dmg or something. You get fb and aim lock pillared while in a fire storm by 3 fs players your dead anyway if you play light
What about Hasted Vigor? does that work exactly like normal Vigor?
It should behave the opposite as distained infliction. It’s a better counter to burns.
@@mecr0w is hasted vigor stackable? on NWDB it says 3/3 stackable, but not with haste i felt

Fire staff meta made me uninstall the game. Dying inside opr outpost to burn damage when there aren't even any enemies inside the outpost gets old. The entire opr map is just 1 big meteor shower... It's so cringe
They didn’t change it they changed to it😂 so many people I have seen swapped to it. Most people that hate it just quit the game, became part of the problem and started using it, meta slaves, or just flat out mage players that think they are good.
@@twlsrovrdaaryeah fs has me on the edge. Burnanator was my final straw if it wasn’t resolved quick. The sad part most of the skilled PvPers left and they hated fire staff. Now you left with mostly toxic community the meta chases and have their skill elevated cause of certain weapons. People spamming void blade another brain dead INT mechanic.
How the hell do you make 5 sec burn to 15 sec? 250 INT perk only gives 30% increase. And as far as I know, the firstaff passive skill gives 20% "smolder" duration.
AGS should nerf controller aim bot
Meh. How often do you actually die to this? I bet it’s extremely negligible and if it isn’t then it’s a skill issue. You have many advantages over controller players, all they have over you is aimlock. How many times do you die to cheese musket or bows? People actually use BB on your server? There’s like 3 on mine lol.
Skill issue. If you're dying to bows/muskets you're bad at PvP.
@@xSkwintz you can use controller mapping on mouse and keyboard to gain controller aimbot functionality and not ever miss a shot while also on mouse and keyboard...

I haven’t really played with that one. Would be interesting to see if that’s a multiplicative or additive increase…
@ from what I’ve seen basically unlimited dots, maybe fixed after this patch but haven’t played yet

VG/IG is a hard counter to a Burnanator since you can keep purging the DoTs

They need to buff other artifacts. People are using the same ones because others are so weak. What's the point of having 2 artifacts per weapon if people only use 1. The new rapier garbage. Both muskets are garbage. Aconite? It's a much worse finisher... when was the last time you saw anyone not trolling using The Butcher? Gladiator shield... lol?! Trsna... no words for whatever that is. Hell, I only see a Spark of Mjölnir once every 20 OPRs because I try to make it work. Tempest Fury is a troll weapon. Spears are rock solid, jealous of dem spear boys not going to lie. But yeah, you guys get the point. Love NW absolutely, dislike the devs.
Artifacts shouldn’t just raise dmg, that makes them too necessary. Artifacts should be like scorpion sting and tempest fury, where they change a skill function. Oddly enough some of the ethereal weapons have better functioning perks than the artifacts themselves. A bubble shield, making yourself larger and a knock back vault kick, an oppressive bow dot they hits Zergs hard, a greataxe you turn into a monarch, a non shield sword… Artifacts should change playstyle and maybe even scale with your highest attribute.
@NYgiants88 agreed. I was sad when I saw how awesome those pvp weapons are cause I was/will not be touching those pvp servers. Fastest way to 65? Woodcutting, lmao 🤣 pvp go crazy!

Worst is that even having 50 fire res and i might be wrong but this is cap for any resist, you still recieve imense fire dmg. Compared vs thrust res still feels that fire in general is much stronger. If i put 50 thrust i can tank bows and muskers but with 50fire res i still melt to burns.
Heavy armor you have over 50% resist basically without gems, artifacts, defense perks, and fortify. You have access to almost a full set of frigid dawn. Heavy is probably the only way you could not complain about fire staff because heavy is broken.

The nerf to Burnanator is stupid. Outside OPR the weapon is useless and by stagger the Flamethrower is useless.
You don’t play enough pvp bud. The weapon was extremely broken. There’s been times where I’ve got caught with one single heavy attack at full hp with 100 con, run 100m away from anyone and still die to the burn. If you play in pvp server it’s deadass 80% fire staff. It’s not fun lol.
Man I was in cutlass keys and I caught some dude with ONE light a attack and a fireball. The DoTs killed him AFTER he ran away 😅
Flamethrower has always been broken, they changed how it works multiple times. AGS never goes through with nerfs and are scared. I remeber when they gave fire ball a 5% dmg reduction and dudes was crying saying it’s unplayable😂. There’s not much information out there cause this is a dead game sadly, so a lot of people are not informed, like people figuring out after 3 years how base dmg works and that going from light to heavy isn’t that drastic lol
