Excellent stuff. You've got a real talent for explaining complex things in a simple way, which is not an easy thing to do!
Thank you, @samb2543! You're too kind 😁.
This is amazing. More please.
❤️ more incoming 😁
Eyyy! Great explanations. I wished I knew more about it, despite it being one of the modules I had used the most. 😛
But hey, at least we get to learn more about it now. And happy holidays, dude!
Thank you @WailingRaven! Lol, yeah I should have known these things about the resonator months ago. Happy holidays! ✌️😁
Nice video, excited for the rest of this series.
Thank you, @Erdna1234! 😁
Killing it with these videos Rob. 😘
🫰😁
Thank you rob!
No problem! @00akcarl 🤘😄 glad you liked it
yes, I like this kind of stuf. Thanks, very useful.
Thank you @ZoeSpacecake! 🤘😄
Great video Rob. Had this module for a while but didn’t use it much. Settling in for the afternoon with it. Thanks!
Thank you, Sami! I'm looking forward to using the Resonator more, too 😄. Hooking it up to an Arp has been a lot of fun for me.
Hello there and friendly greetings!
Thank you for the video! I learnt a lot about a module I nearly never used. You rock, man! 😉
Back at cha, dude! ✌️😁 I'm glad you liked it.
Nice overview, regarding polyphony there's now a fully polyphonic Rings clone in the library called Anuli, from the Sanguine Mutants collection. It's insanely good! You can send it polyphonic modulation too, so parameters like structure and position can be changed for each note/channel, and even the model (although that tends to sound a bit of a mess if you're not careful!).
Would be good to see the audio input explored a bit more too, there's a lot you can do with that. I like to play live guitar though it for example, or process samples and different types of noise bursts to make ambient textures. I never get bored of Rings to be quite honest, seems to be an almost infinite source of cool sounds 😉
DUDE! Thank you for telling me about Anuli. I've been eyeing the Sanguine Mutants Collection. I like the style of the modules but now I know they are really good too haha. Just like you said, The Resonator is a high potential module and so much can be done with it. It's hard to show all of its awesomeness in a short video. I'm going to try playing some live melodica through it now. 🤘😁
@@yourpalrob ha, melodica through Rings sounds nuts! I find it's a bit nasty if you leave it on the same frequency, so you need to send it some pitch CV. You can try something like Entrian Follower or Nysthi P2V to track the pitch of what you're playing but may find it doesn’t track that well. I like to just send random notes from a quantiser, then play in the same key on guitar. This works really well polyphonically too.
@VirtualModular ooo. I think I'll set my Midi keyboard up to send v/oct. I'll play the same pitch on it with my left hand, and I'll play melodica with my right hand and audio in through my mic. I'll just have to figure out how to hold the melodica haha. Maybe electrical tape and my camera stand. I'll post how it sounds on the subreddit lol
@@yourpalrob that sounds immense 😂
Don't know if I wasn't paying attention enough, but I'm not sure from this which of the selectors at the top does what. Obviously I can go and find out with the module itself so I'm only mentioning it because you're usually spot on with that level of clarity.
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it and will try to be more clear in the future. The one on the left selects polyphony and the one on the right selects the resonator type. They are mentioned at ~ 1:11 and 2:45 respectively.
@@yourpalrobAh, thanks. I should have re-watched it. I remember being a bit confused at the polyphony bit, probably because I missed that you were selecting it. Definitely demystified and otherwise complex module.
The module's features seem to reach different levels with its demonstration, Your Pal Rob! 😉
Thank you and thanks also for the suggestion, Jafezy_JD!
I'll be eagerly awaiting the development of this series ❤
Thank you, @lungaoson8374! The Audible Instruments modules are great. 😄 I'm excited to do more videos on them.
Shouting at granny's piano, just like the holidays of old, lol!
Ha! I've shouted into my grandma's piano more times than I care to admit 😂
worth noting that you get lower quality with higher polyphony
Spot on! Thanks for saying that.
I honestly never noticed that, but it probably makes sense given the limited processing power of the original hardware, which is quite old now.
See my other comment about Anuli, which is fully polyphonic, so you don't need to use the pseudo-polyphony control. I've used it in a few videos and it's one of my favourite modules. 😉
@@VirtualModular nice!
Hello again!
I have seen you made a very good tutorial about Squinktronik Harmony.
Could it be an idea to make a tutorial on Harmony II?🙂
Great suggestion! I've been meaning to try Harmony II out. I'll check out the manual and then make a video 🤘😁
