Thank you for your wonderful sermons. I read chapters of the Bible aloud and think that I understand what I am saying, yet it is when I listen to your teachings I begin to have a greater understanding of what Jesus is saying to us. I find that listening to your teachings before bedtime really helps me to have a good night's sleep.

David and his companions had the holy bread in the "house of God.". In other words, they were in the presence of the Lord when eating the Holy bread. In this passage the disciples were with the presence of the Lord (Jesus) as they were picking heads of grain and eating them. When God is present in our lives.. the religious regulations become void.

Indeed, years ago, I was trying to be “good” and more I tried, the more I failed so I “knocked it off” and surprise, surprise, even can see the process of sanctification in my life. I am not what I ought to be but praise God, I am not what I used to be! My goodness, someone shd have hit over the head, locked me up and thrown away the key, I was a disaster! “But, God!!!”

I have been following these teachings for months now. However, I am beyond confused now. At 8:40 is he saying what I think he is saying about Jesus? I really hope not (English is my second language). Thank you in advance for clarifying that.

I think he was just saying that when Jesus asked "Have you not read" that it wasn't meant as an insult but that the pharisees simply didn't understand it. (Hope this helps)

Desire mercy and not sacrifices because it goes beyond "legalism" - sacrifices started with Abel and his firstfruit offering of animal sheep and not like Cain's non-first fruit from the crops which signifies doing "good" deeds and gloating on such. First fruit sacrifice is about faith of who God is and not what God has done or can do for us as it is tied to Matthew 11 with what we "expect" God to do for us if I follow His law and such expectation many time leads to disappointment because His way and His thinking is not our way or thinking because God cares for everyone whereas we care only for our own fleshly desire and our inner circles only which is seen in Leviticus 23:22

How could any person even desire to worship a God who has 613 commandments/rules? Rules, splitting hairs. Rules the Jews then try to manipulate in order to find loopholes to evade the rule. And yet, today's Jews still abide by such regulations. How hopelessly legalistic and devoid of compassion.

God gave the 10 commandments. Moses wrote the 603 laws/rules to guide a crowd of over TWO MILLION men, women and children during the journey.
Sounds about right to me, or do you think it would’ve been better to just leave them up to their own whims?
The pharisees & co. up until Jesus’ arrival added to those laws in order to seem superior, and all on their own, mind you.
Jesus came to fulfill the law of God and Moses, and to call out and abolish the hypocrisy of the hearts.

Can someone explain why the 4th commandment is the only one people agree we don't have to follow? There are many, many versus sayin to obey the commandments if you love God. I understand there is a verse about not judging those that don't keep the sabbath. From my understanding that just referred to the way people judged others based on the ridiculous rules they created about sabbath.

@@PastorPaulLeBoutillier Thanks for the write-up in the blog Mr. LeBoutilluer, I've been looking into the sabbath issue for 7/8 years. Your explanation is one of the best I've come across, I have been blessed reading your blog. My addition to it (if that's ok) would be the connection between the sabbath commandment in Dueteronomy 5:15 and it's redemptive rest that God provided for Israel. This sabbath day rest, I believe, is the shadow that Paul speaks of in Colossians 2:16. We, as christians, enter and have rest through the promises of salvation, reconciliation, justification, peace, unity and redemption through the providence of God by sending Christ as an atonement for the forgiveness of sins.

7:51 "The problem with legalism, is that it leaves no room for people. It makes no provision for caring for people and the needs of people fall by the wayside." very relevant today 🙏
