Excellent tips. I never thought to lift my rod up after casting to provide slack for a natural straight fall instead of a useless pendulum fall. Thank you.
I saw a tip for the wacky rig to help preserve the worm. I can’t remember who did this, but the guy used clear electrical wire shrink wrap. I had some black so I tried it. I caught 6 bass on the same worm and there was little to no damage to the worm. Enjoy.
The Berkley General powerbait stick worms are PACKED with salt. They have amazing action and are also very durable. I have a lot of yamamoto soft plastics, but both styles of zakos are my favorite! Very versatile. Can be used as a Chatterbait trailer (split tail) or use the pdl tail with a weighted underspin EWG Berkley Fusion hook. But you're right about the hit worms! For some reason, bass LOVE the 7" bubble gum worm. I don't really know what it imitates, but they eat it like, we'll, bubble gum lol. Thanks for the videos! Love watching them!
Found your channel a couple weeks back, my parents live on Indian lake near Columbus ohio I have been an avid angler(saugeye, catfish, perch, crappie etc.) my whole life but never really specifically bass fished. I have some nice spinning rod combos but get my first baitcaster delivered tomorrow. So stoked and I love your channel for content and tips I have gone on a binge to get up to speed on bass gear, what to use and how. Keep em coming!!!
Hi don’t fish this way much at all I didn’t have any confidence in this method but I will be throwing it my next trip because of this video thanks a ton.
I’ve started using a 1/16th gamo weedless wacky jig style hook with zoom and power worms ribbon tails. Absolutely ridiculous how many bass I catch on this setup. Plus hookup ratio is about 80% also. I’ll never go back to senkos for wacky rigging again.
Good tip on the knock off. Bank fishermen tend to not have money for a skeeter. My buddy and I like to keep a big fish in the basket for antagonizing the the guys in the shiney boats when they fish past us before we let them go.😁
This info was PURE GOLD for me. I'm just learning to use my Spinning combos (Lews MACH CRUSH and Lews PEARL) after years of fishing baitcaster combos. Now that I'm in my older years I'm finding that a Spinning combo is lighter to handle. I'm using lighter baits also and trying some micro lures. That said, this was EXACTLY what I wanted to see! THANKS A BUNCH!
The wacky rig is my favorite way to fish a worm around rip rap even when using a small weighted wacky style hook. It doesn’t get hung up near as much as a shaky head or Texas rig. Dead sticking a wacky rigged FCL 6.2” Mid Mag worm has been very effective for me lately. I’ve even been catching some large white catfish this way. Great tips!
@@BassFishingHQ After reading “Knowing Bass: The Scientific Approach To Catching More Fish” I started infusing earthworm scent into my plastic while making my worms. It ranked off the charts with flavors that bass prefer. I believe that is why the catfish are biting it too. They come over to investigate and get a taste of the earthworm, and it’s game over. You have covered many points in your videos that are explained in “Knowing Bass” which leads me to believe that you may have read it. If you haven’t, check it out. Oh, I do mainly catch bass. The catfish are just a fun bonus. Lol
@@porkpine123 I add earthworm extract to the liquid plastic during the heating process. The heated plastic is then injected into the aluminum mold for the bait.
I prefer the Yum Dinger precisely because it falls so slowly. It’s great for the super shallow stuff I fish. My highest percentage spot in my lake is where a lay down touches the bank. With less than a foot of water, that slow fall is 💰
I like the video. Senko's are hands down the best ever but yes, they are way too expensive but I do use them. The second best is the Creme version. It has the same action and is very durable.
You like whacky try these riot baton worm and Mann’s springer worm version 1&version 2 those 2 worms shake like a hula girl and l use flick shake a lot and strike king 8 inch bull worm and trick worms motor oil and chartuse and green pumpkin with chartuse tail is good and I also use 12 inch jelly worm l put nail weight in nose and weedless hook you should do a vid on the Mann’s springer and version 2 they are unbelievable and riot baton worm are absolutely the best action out there
Am I the only one that uses small sliver of shrink tubing? I slip about a 3/16 sliver right over the sinko. Hook right through the shrink tubing through the worm and out the other side..
On the bobber rig whacky that was originally done with a 3 inch worm called the Jersey worm it also works to use a bobber and a #7 worm hook 24 inch drop line hook 12 inch jelly worm Texas and fish over submerged weeds bluegill come up peck bobber and l think bass are drawn to that then they see big worm soaked in licorice l have caught a lot of bass on that rig
Great tips for fishing a stick bait. Gotta love the whacky rig. I've had a lot of success with them when nothing else seemed to work. Are those okuma spinning rods just as good as the baitcasters?? I have a few of the baitcasters and love them, since you fish them both I figured I'd ask.
I have used them at times and really like them. I use them a lot when I am fishing a lighter worm like a trick worm, something that doesn’t have a lot of weight
Ive been wanting to get a few okuma rods. Ive been using their spinning reela since the 90's. Where around here can i get some okuma rods? Its hard to buy rods online if you've never felt them in person
Yum Dinger all day every day. More durable and it catches a lot of fish, and half the price. I gave a buddy of mine a bag of Yamamoto’s because I got sick of the durability and the hang ups. I proceeded to school him with the dinger’s. Haha
Something that I do when I am using worms with little to no salt content is I will insert a piece of wire coat hanger into both sides. Any time that I get a wire coat hanger I will cut several 1/4 inch pieces and throw them in my tackle. When I don"t have any high salt baits or if they're not biting the others I just slide a piece in each side and cast away!
This video phenomenal I love bass fishing so relaxing and such a beautiful fish and exciting I do videos too I actually caught my new PB bass if you want to check it out it was 100cm and 30lbs it was huge!
hey Ty, if u glue a tube in the middle of the stick bait like an inu rig, but just one right in the center, you will go thro a lot less baits cus the center tube can withstand more abuse than the bait itself. word.
Excellent tips. I never thought to lift my rod up after casting to provide slack for a natural straight fall instead of a useless pendulum fall.
Thank you.
Great video , concise and to the point: no wasted time!!
Way too many people talking out their ass because they need to hear their voice… this was to the point… awesome
I make my own stickbaits. I don’t add salt or any sinking additives. My bites skyrocketed because they hit it better suspending rather than sinking.
Just caught 4 good size bass on a wacky rig including a 5 pounder! One of my favorite lures to use. Thanks for the tips!

NDYAK.
Flukemaster has this tip. I use small zip ties. Especially when neko rrigging it keeps the band on the hook
I don't comment often but I gotta say this was a great video with tips. Thanks.

Bass Pro sells a "Wacky Stik-O" that's thinner at the egg sack made specifically for wacky rigging. Caught quite a few on green pumpkin magic!
Yes that is a good one. I have used it too
The Wacky Stik-O is the best stick bait on the low me to me! 🤫😉👌🏾
Try an Eagle Claw 3/0 weedless hook and you won't loose a Bass, bc it hooks'em in the throat. I've lost a lot of Bass with those short shanked hooks
Hooking bass in the throat is for poozies

One great way to help the senco last longer is clear heat shrink tubing. I us 3/8”. I can catch 10-12 or more fish per bait.
Shhhh. It’s my favorite trick with senkos

Never thought to use a ribbon tail worm. I use the wacky jigs all the time. Going to have to give this a try! Thanks for the tip
This was really good advice on how to actually finess this rig. Going to try it.
The more info the better as far as I’m concerned. Good stuff
Bro where are you? That looks like paradise for me, sit in the deck, cold beer, cool tunes, and killer bass....I am soooooo jealous bro!

great tips I never though about a zoom trick worm and I fish a floating worm all the time
You definitely need to try it!
Lot of tournaments won whacking the trick worm in central NC lakes before everyone started throwing it.
I prefer the Yum Dinger precisely because it falls so slowly. It’s great for the super shallow stuff I fish. My highest percentage spot in my lake is where a lay down touches the bank. With less than a foot of water, that slow fall is 💰

👍 Liked the way you kept the background music low.. Good ending,,, (subscribed)

Yea and it can be easy to go through a couple of bags when they are eating them
Totally cool way to end the video. 👍😎
Great video….Thank you🎣🎣
You win some you lose some still it was an awesome video keep it going I like the way you explain and watch your videos
Best information I have seen thank you for the information.
Thank you for the tips, I've been wanting more options in my fishing arsenal
LMOA!! Just sub'd. Sound was better on this vid than the one previous one I commented on.

Bass pro shops stick O is my bait of choice here on the Colorado River.
Thanks for the tips I'll try to try them tomorrow but you know how this UA-cam goes not always as planned kind of like losing that fish lol
Thanks for the tips. Great Video
Good tips man, love the wacky rig. Thanks
Yes I use the yum there are 2.99 a pack and they work great
Am I the only one that uses small sliver of shrink tubing? I slip about a 3/16 sliver right over the sinko. Hook right through the shrink tubing through the worm and out the other side..
Caught my PB last night, total of 5 bass and 1 blue cat on a wacky rig. Great video. I was rigged with mono but next time I'll use flourocarbon.
How you catch a blue cat on a wacky ? Thats first !
It was in my buddies pond and he snatched it near the bottom. I wasn’t tryin’ to catch catfish, but I did that time.
I prefer Yum dingers it’s cheaper and I catch a lot of largies with it
Smallies love em’ too ! I don’t care what anyone says , Dingers are the best bang for your buck and catch a poopton of fish ( wacky or Texas rigged )
Man I need to work on my skipping game.
Idc bout the more tips I love to here more tips 🤷🏻
Good stuff brother thanks for sharing
2:43 another problem is that with the amount of salt they pump into the senkos also results in the senkos becoming less durable
Yes that is very true
Another Great Video!
The octo flutters well on its way down.
I’ve caught so many bass on wacky rig robo worm.
Yep Tyler always good content keep em coming. One thing , change that opening theme music 😜
Yum dinger is the next best worm I use both. If you'r yum dinger is not shimmering you hooked it wrong. Look up stick worms pool test.
If the Yum Dinger is all I have then should I put a small weight on it to speed up the fall a little bit?
Wacky rig also works good on a drop shot
Do you have any videos on how to find a bass in ponds or lakes ? Thank you in advance
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WEIGHTED TEXAS RIG WITH A SKIRT, AND A JIG??? OTHER THAN COST????
Great tips for fishing a stick bait. Gotta love the whacky rig. I've had a lot of success with them when nothing else seemed to work. Are those okuma spinning rods just as good as the baitcasters?? I have a few of the baitcasters and love them, since you fish them both I figured I'd ask.
Yes it is the Okuma TCS spinning rod and I really like it. It is extremely versatile rod and I really love the action. This is the 7’ M
@@BassFishingHQ
Sweet, thanks. I love my tcs casters, been eye balling the spinning rod for a bit.
Good tips. What's your opinion of using a weighted wacky hook? I use the bass pro shop stick worms and they are great

@@BassFishingHQ that's a good idea. I will have to give that a try. You definitely opened my eyes to using other style of worms. 👍🏻
What kind of hook do you recommend when fishing a wacky rig worm? And do you use o-rings?
I don’t use an o ring unless I am using a Neko rig. I like the 2/0 long shank VMC drop shot hook
Your a great fishermen
stik-o is the deal!!
Ive been wanting to get a few okuma rods. Ive been using their spinning reela since the 90's. Where around here can i get some okuma rods? Its hard to buy rods online if you've never felt them in person
What kind of hook you using in vidoe? Looks like a kind of weed'ss. And what size?
I bought the venom worms for a wacky rig and it didnt wobble at alllllll on the way down :( just fell slow and motionless.
The bass pro ones weigh 152 grains the Yamamoto Senko 155-157. The Yum is about 150. The Yamamoto isn’t that much heavier
Hey, big Okuma rod fan. Which one were you using for your setup?
We call that a long line release.
What action spinning rod would you recommend for wacky rigging? I'll be using 10# braided with fluoro leader.
What about a strike king ocho, do you like them?
Yum Dinger all day every day. More durable and it catches a lot of fish, and half the price. I gave a buddy of mine a bag of Yamamoto’s because I got sick of the durability and the hang ups. I proceeded to school him with the dinger’s. Haha
Yum Dinger. Far superior.
What size worm from bass pro are you using for better action in water? In your opinion
What’s the “go-to” hooks?
What the knot you have at 1:12? The braid to mono/fluro?
What kind of hook you useing?
Good tips but Yamamoto’s are 100% the better option… at least in my area. I’ll catch noticeably less when I’m using any other brand
Hey Tyler! Q: What knot do you use to tie your leader to your mainline?
Crazy Alberto knot

Whacky beneath a bobber definety works
Also you can use an o ring to save your senko/stick baits
Yum dingers work fine
What was the rod and reel combo used in this video?
7' M Okuma TCS Rod (Shakey head Rod), the reel is a Daiwa Fuego (size 25 or 2500)
A really ending , great video!!
Not sure if this works consistently but at one lake I was using it like 1ft to 1/2 a foot beneath a bobber and that was working.
