Yup. In his book “Disloyal,” he talks about witnessing trump weasel his way out of paying others, so he recorded the conversation specifically to make sure he got paid.
Michael Cohen is pretty street smart, so I’m sure it was insurance in any case.
And thank goodness he did record it. We're just surprised that trump hasn't tried to claim (like he did with the Access Hollywood tape) that it wasn't his voice.
He knows that clientele. Cohen got hired by dump 45 for his expertise in these areas. So.........he knew who he was dealing with from the start.

That is what the trial is there to prove. tRump had to be a participant knowingly and with intent. If it was a conspiracy that was Cohen directly working with the tabloids and lying to tRump about payments and what it was for, than no tRump would not be guilty.
Fortunately tRump and his lawyers are so useless they all but have admitted to the criminal actions in front of the jury at this point. Just have to have it documented in court records and the i dotted and t crossed.

Contrary to what most people believe, I think this was the best trial to have first. The Stormy Daniel's payments didn't hit the news until after the election when most people had disengaged. It's one thing to convince the Evangelicals that the election was stolen, it's another thing entirely to tell them, especially Evangelical women, that he was raw dogging a porn star and a Playboy model when he had a wife and infant at home. I do believe this will hurt him, especially when he can't afford to lose a single voter.

I informed 4 NY Times reporters that his Contempt of Court convictions are indirect violation of his pre-trial releases in his three other criminal courts prosecutions. One reporter confirmed receipt and indicated he’d investigate this contention.

The prosecution hasn’t finished and Trump hasn’t put on a defense yet. MTG needs to frustrate a couple more GOP members into quitting. If they lose the majority, it will take about 10 minutes for the dems to pass a law saying how to enforce the 14th Amendment Section 3 on federal candidates. THEN (and likely only then) Trump would be off the ballot.
His supporters will still whine that it's all political even though they said nothing about the 14th Amendment being used to disqualify Former Otero County, New Mexico, Commissioner Couy Griffin.
He was disqualified after Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) sued to eject him from his role under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. His appeal was recently struck down by the Supreme Court - as the problem with Trump in Colorado was only one of jurisdiction.
If there was a mechanism to enforce this at the federal level, Trump would already be out.
Unfortunately the SCOTUS right wing is deaf and blind to truth, bought and paid for by Trump and have effectively ripped up 14th Amnt s3.
