What about the Sennheiser HD 820?
Personally I couldn't stand it. I returned it within a few days. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but it's got a weird signature and tinny frequency that I couldn't get used to. I was looking for something to double as an office headphone while giving me that 'airy' quality of the 800s. Personally, I'd rather have the 800s 10/10, and then use a closed back when needed. I personally use the Stellia and 800s, depending on use case.
What if I’m looking for something cheaper? Sub $500. Any recommendations.
Lots of great choices in the IEM market, as for closed backs.. Meze 99 classic, Focal Elegia, Audeze Maxwell, maybe a 2nd hand Dan Clark or LSA HP-2.. 👍
What about ZMF Verite close?

VC is better than any of those
Looking for a closed back audiophile portable wired headphones. These are certainly sound awesome. But they are not portable, they have stayed for couple of years. Wireless headphones certainly good for average consumers, but as an audiophile, why fewer companies wish to make portable wired closed back. Have tried too many IEMs and to my ears, closed back wired headphones sound a lot better than flagship IEMs, and even more comfortable for longer listening sessions.
The Meze Lirics she listed are pretty travel friendly but if somehow still too big, look at the DCA Aeon 2 closed backs? They fold up really small and are even easier to drive.
@@KipFox No. The Aeon 2 is hard to drive.
Headphones should be huge then everyone can wear them comfortable. This travel friendly cutting down on size is not fitting every head. The only way to make it travel friendly is to make it foldable and efficient. The dca is a perfect example of what a travel friendly portable headphone should be, only just efficiency to cover

I got the LCD-XC a couple years ago and i love them, but boy is the standard cable horrible, tanglecity.
Until the ZMF Bokeh release in November and wipes the floor with this list. Great video but Octobers too early for an end of year wrap-up.

@@moon-audio I understand that you are a retailer and don’t carry ZMF. But to call it a “Best Of” list is pretty misleading. A top selling list would be a more accurate title. Especially since you don’t carry the worlds best closed backs. A tonne of the comments here will echo my sentiments.

oh believe me that my verite closed is better than Stellia 😆 with great tube amp it is perfection
I find the Verite is excellent with tubes but the Stellia pairs better with solid state. Dare I say I think the DCA Stealth performs better than both.
