Just a quick note: Mildura does not produce pink Himalayan salt - that is rock salt from the Himalayas. Sea lake nearby Mildura produces pink Murray salt, from the river and lakes surrounding the area.
Impressive how narrow and small is the biggest river in Australia!!!!!...........thank God for Artesian basin and lets hope rains increases and irrigation is better managed........
I lived there for a few years in the 80s. Its a lovely spot but just way too hot for me. Gosh, it was hard to sleep at night at times with the amount of heat remaining from the day. Also, its a very flat region, very little change in the landscape. Still, the river is gorgeous and so are the paddle steamers.
A dozen or so years ago, I did quite a bit of work at Mildura. Difficult to get to from Sydney, bu an attractive city once you've arrived. Lot's of good eating - Stefano's was doing very, very well at the time, but there were others nearly as good and rather cheaper. Just remember that the Murray's in NSW. Victoria does not start until the southern bank.
540+ Kms to Melbourne. The Bridge at !:45 is George Chaffey Bridge. Correct about fruit fly, Fruit Fly can destroy the local area! High Temperature and HIGH UV in Summer! Great Video!
