I love the fact as the gunship is firing upon the Dreadnought and it's shielding itself, it begins to pre-rev the Assault Cannon before firing, nice little detail there.
getting the rotary cannon up to speed or precycling it is not just a futuristic thing, it can be done in the modern era too. it really is a funky detail to ground the otherwise insane universe of 40k into some semblance of reality and really draw in the viewer, yeah.
This is exactly why dreadnoughts are so awesome. They look big and cumbersome, but the Astartes inside is a master of the mechanisms and weapons, and can easily wipe an entire fortress by himself!
My thoughts exactly. You always read in novels and fluff about how agile and quick Dreadnaughts are, but it doesn't seem possible when you see the art or the specs. Then you see something like this and... yep, I can believe it lol
I'm pretty sure most Dreadnoughts have shields though I'm probably thinking about the ancient Dreadnoughts (I never read the novels/books of Warhammer 40k, only play the games, and you would think people would built a small shield generator of some kind that doesn't make the Dreadnoughts slower than it is, and I'm sure you need more than a standard anti tanks missile to take down a Dreadnought if it was built to tank small arms fire from other space marines which blows you up on impact on your body for a couple of seconds, I even seen a Dreadnought surviving a shot by a las-cannon in a video called siege)
@@AkenValle you said that but I seen a Dreadnought surviving a shot from a las-cannon in a video and you need more than a standard anti tank milssle to take it out, and you are thinking about Modern Warfare against a frictional race, never put frictional and reality together, it will never work, and beside if it's stupid than ignore it, not throw a fit and said will never work 🙄

Then, Alfabusa quit because "asking GW for a licence would expose me", as if knowingly refusing to adjust his position would be of any help, and as if they didn't already know about him, and kept his stuff on a monetized Patreon (it doesn't matter that you don't really have to pay to view them, that's how it works) while, given GW's stance, the sensible thing would have been to keep all Warhammer-related stuff on a demonetized platform, and keep the new projects on Patreon. Still, they didn't go after him. Now, I don't really like how aggressive they are in protecting their IP, but I know this isn't the exception but the norm. Max's "Dread" series is amazing for really getting across and accurately portraying the *True Imperial MIGHT* of these steel behemoths. These are war machines created for the sole purpose of rapid annihilation of the strongest enemy forces all while being nigh impenetrable walls of mayhem, their Bulwark construction only rivalled by *literal TANKS.* Wielding some of the heaviest and most destructive weapons in the Imperium's arsenal, exceeded only by the weaponry of the near-godlike Titans of the Knights Errant, manned by a veteran Astartes that has seen hundreds if not *thousands* of years of combat. These machines are the closest thing to being the Avatars of War, and it's an absolute *crime* they haven't been depicted very often or very well in official GW media.

This is glorious! I really like it Just a small thing for the future: I think the gun-sounds, especially of the dreadnought, could use a litte more bass to give them weight. But other than that, this is what Warhammer Animation should look like!
Really loved everything about the animation! The brutality, combat intelligence and especially the movement of the Dreadnought... superb! Only one remark from a lore-perspective: a dreadnought (chassis) is a venerated part of the any chapters armoury, and in the case of many chapters, a respected advisor or counsellor in the command structure of the chapter. (That's maybe also a bit of a personal gripe towards Waking Dread, but that's another subject). So it would be a most exceptional situation in which such a prized relic would be deployed as a single entity on the battlefield, without support. I can only recall this happening as part of re-enforcements for already engaged units on the ground in the lore (but I must admit that my reading of the lore is far from 100% hahaha). I understand that this clip is short enough not to need that context, and once again... I really enjoyed it! So please take my comment just as something to keep in mind if this excellent little clip gets (hopefully) many sequels and builds into a little story.
EVEN IN DEATH I SERVER Man, 40k is just the coolest. I feel like the Dune concept of 'no machines in the likeness of a man's brain' and the Adeptus Mechanicus concepts like entombing the remains of a soldier into a giant mech basically on life support or the Servitors go really well together, but 40k DOES have AI in it also.
0:54 The gun is manned by a trained solider. They're aiming to the best of their ability and scoring hits in a difficult position on a moving vehicle. They are doing what is humanly possible. It makes for a great contrast when paired against the dreadnought who's perfectly tracking and making consistent hits on a moving target, with an inaccurate weapon! The fact the dreadnought still blocks with its arm while making inhumanly accurate shots, strikes a great balance that this thing is both man and machine.
Now imagine the auditory madness of all of the destruction a Dreadnought causes while also bellowing about how you all deserve death at an earsplittingly loud register.
As awesome as this whole thing is, I gotta say, the best parts have got to be the assault cannon firing, with the amount of shells pouring out, and the flamethrower effect was PERFECT. That wide cone of photorealistic, billowing flames. Very nicely done
This is fantastic work. I absolutely love it =) So I watched it multiple times to see if I can give you some feedback, and I have to say it is very close to being perfect. getting the rotary cannon up to speed or precycling it is not just a futuristic thing, it can be done in the modern era too. it really is a funky detail to ground the otherwise insane universe of 40k into some semblance of reality and really draw in the viewer, yeah.
@@AnikaJarlsdottrRevving a rotary armament without firing is the most unrealistic fucking thing ever.
Yeah, let's ignore that if they had anti tank weapons it would be blown up in sec. Stupidity of 40k is legendary, everything is made for rule of cool.

Later, AbsolutelyNothing was told to either join them or demonetize his work, which he did.
After that, GW changed its stance to only allow for licenced animations.

Max's "Dread" series is amazing for really getting across and accurately portraying the *True Imperial MIGHT* of these steel behemoths.
1:04 THATS what I imagine when the books describe how big and powerful their guns are. That flyer was trying to just run from that barrage of bullets.

Best part is, this is one of the more basic, simpler patterns too. Now imagine if it was a Contemptor, or Emperor forbid a Leviathan.
EVEN IN DEATH I SERVER
Man, 40k is just the coolest.
Dreadnoughts are the scariest things imo in 40k lore, for the enemies and the dreadnought itself, they're walking around in their own tomb basically.
The only thing that I could think of was maybe trying to give everything a tiny bit more weight, maybe this would make it feel even more epic.
I agree with this criticism, the tower in the beginning flew away like it was paper. Besides that, everything was great.
