Le’s assume thr worst case and the Dodgers have to eat his contract at some point the way they ate Bauer’s contract (but not for the same reason). The Dodgers have demonstrated that they can make a big mistake / waste a lot of money and still be competitive in spending to put a great tream together. Bauer had the highest AAV in MLB at the time and eating his contract didn’t hinder the Dodgers at all in continuing to sign players. So, even if you are right and offering Soto $600M+ is a waste of money or a mistake, the Dodgers can afford it.
