What is your most prized piece in your collection? Whats the story behind it?
Probably either my Star Wars 8" Jawa Action Figure (1979) complete. When I was 5 years old we had the complete set of these figures, but our house was broken into and all of them were taken - minus the little Jawa! So I've protected him ever since. When ELF ON THE SHELF came around, I couldn't stand it, so I did the JOLLY JAWA and posted pictures of him getting into trouble around the Christmas Tree / House all December for several years. He carried a "You've been naughty" bag and wore a makeshift red and green scarf. LOL
Or maybe my Alien Anthology: LIMITED EDITION Blu-ray Collector's Box with Light Up Egg in box with a low number out of 5000? I'd have to dig out the box to know exactly what number it is, but it's pretty cool (to me at least) even though it's not a toy. LOL! I got that one from a CEO at FOX when they were just launching. :)
I would have to say my favorite old toy is my Castle Greyskull that my dad did some custom painting on, my most fav modern "toy" would be my ODERUS URUNGUS of GWAR figure from Hop Toys ❤ Rest In Pride ODERUS URUNGUS aka Dave Brockie. Miss ya man!!!
A pork chop...My mom made it for me
I started serious collecting about ten months ago and three weeks ago I got a Terror Drome in very good condition almost 100% complete. Just need the figure and missiles for the plane/ship in the middle.
That’s tough!! I have my original Thundercats Lion-o from when I was a kid my parents kept. Also all of the little minis with their small weapons that were kept in a country croc butter container.
Possibly my Monkian Thundercats bop bag with the box just because I like the oddball stuff too and don’t know how often you see it.
I’m on whatnot also

Went to your show a few years back but didn’t make it this year.
Awesome thank you for bringing back the old school style toy federation video format 20 min and great content.
Even as a 47 year old Man, I still miss Toys R Us..4 years ago, my childhood mall was demolished.
Could you imagine the display ToysRUs would have had for all these new retro TMNT and MOTU...bet it would have been great.
I'm 45, and I remember filming a video of going into Toys r Us right after they stopped selling stuff. Like the doors were open, but just to come in and grab racks and shelving. Not even sure if I was supposed to be in there lol. But man, it was cathartic, just not cathartic in a happy way. Going there once a week for over a decade with a friend was a ritual that I'll never have again, and man it was beautiful.
Canada still has TRU, take a trip sometime.
@@trollking99
From the testimony I've heard, the selection isn't good, and the pricing is outrageous. Plus, I don't live in say northern Washington where I could drive to one - plus haven't had a car in years 😞. Can't even go to Toy Federation.
@@Chalor. It depends what you're looking for and which location you go to. And to be honest, I'm from Ontario and visited Ollie's in NY, and was in Florida for a month, and found US prices too high compared to the bargains I used to get years ago.
@trollking99 Hell ya..👍🏻
That Star Wars display was awesome. Thanks for another great episode
Mcgoober action figures?! Wow. That show was badass 😂❤
Yeah, turns out those SNL sketches predate MacGyver. MacGyver totally ripped off MacGruber 😏. Unless that wasn't a mistake and there actually was a show called Mcgoober....who apparently was a total goober.
I remember watching that episode of Quantum Leap 🤣
the commercials are great, but what really makes it is the perspective. the sitting back and looking at a tv itself is a nice touch.
9:28 & 11:35 Extreme Dinos and Street Sharks! Always cool to see.
Awesome vintage toys!!
Love the national lampoons quotes 😂👌🏽
Hitting us with the previews for next week now, i like it.
You made a good point on kids growing up in 2000's or any generation and finding their fave toy in their childhood as they have families they will be looking for certain pieces and have their kids enjoy them as well. I grew up with matchbox, action figures(action man/gi joe)and majorette (not much hotwheels but now I do) and I do the same with my kid sharing what I had growing up. I do miss Toys R US after they went away when my child was 2 certain stores dont have much variety to choose from. Especially if the toys were were made in the USA and knew if it came in the US, it was high quality toys my 2 cents.
unfortunately, I have the problem of not being considerate enough of other generations, lol..... I only want a store to carry what I grew up with (80s) and not the later stuff....I'm working on it.....
@@MapleJames76
Yeah, I'm a kid of the '80s too. Even though I grew out of playing with toys circa 1990 (then started "adult" collecting years later), there was some really amazing kids lines in the '90s. Totally missed out on all the Marvel and BTAS stuff. But overall, we had better stuff in the '80s. It was the golden age of toys...not to be confused with the now, which is the golden age of collecting super expensive 'adult collectible' toys.
Glad you got the display lighting up, I was worried for a bit, the plug is finicky. It was a cool find in the wild and I thought you'd appreciate it. At the time I could only find one on Ebay asking 5k for it, yours is in better shape, the ebay one was cracked and split. It is strange that it's totally backwards lol. Was cool to see it make the channel. Hopefully you found a place to put it. Would be a cool diorama project for someone to fill out around it.
thanks for the episode, see you next week...
Ahh man, what a tease at the end with that trailer full of awesomeness!
Grading a such a scam, gives nothing to the consumer, but I guess it raises prices so big resellers love it.
It really is when it comes to grading toys and comics and cards. You don't have to be an "expert grader" to look at something and assess what the condition is. But if you want to go that route, I'd say find a file that looks like some of those grading stickers, and just tweak some stuff in Paint. Then print it up on some sticker sheets, BAM, there you go, a nice grated item.
attn. Ryan, I use large gift basket wrap bags to cover all my boxes so they get no more shelf where and they are protected from oily hand picking them up, you can even trip and spill your Kool-Aid on it with no damage, I shrink wrap mine with a hair dryer but you can also simple wrap it like a gift if you dont want to do the shrinking process, still the same protection
Kids have been conditioned to want screens and buttons… unfortunately toys r us, child world, children’s palace and Lionel kiddie city couldn’t exist today even if the leases for the stores were free. It’s sad that kids will never experience the fun we had at those amazing stores. 😢😢😢
Besides KB (or Kay Bee as it originally was), there was this other toy store in the mall that was very similar - just can't remember its name. Even though KB was even more overpriced than Toys r Us, you could find all sorts of old expired treasures in that store. I vividly remember the huge netting near the ceiling that'd house the big plush toys...and always with the little table out at the front with the barking and flipping dogs.
“Grade the o-ring”…lol
Dude your store is awesome, I live in BC and your store reminds me of Toy Traders in Langley BC. Crazy you got those TVC vehicles graded ! I just got back my first AFA graded TVC figure and it was my rare Canadian Yoda VC20 and it’s got a 85 NM+. One of my favorites in the collection by far. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I can confirm Toy Traders is out of this world. The amount of vintage "decorations" is staggering. I'm about 45 minutes south in WA state.
@ out of this world for sure 👍
@@returnofplex
Nice! And I'm only like 35 minutes from Toy Federation, but haven't had a car in years, so I can't unfortunately just go there. The cost to Uber there and back would be staggeringly expensive.
Toy Traders is awesome 🇨🇦
I swear every video he says theyre expamding Ryan just go for it bro lol
Back at the shop! Nice!
on Ebay at this moment there is a Glasslite MacGyver carded figure for sale for $799.
man i havent seen that Street Sharks toy commercial in 30 years, what a blast from the past
I want to see some of your other store employees talk about toys. I can’t always watch the same person talk about toys. Great work keep it up!
Well, since you're new to the channel, there's a plethora of other episodes exactly up your alley. Ryan has two main employees that talk a lot about toys, especially Travis. These guys also have a podcast channel on here. Feel free to check that out - I think you'll dig it.
I have a Carrie Fisher Princess Leia orange card POTF autographed figure, too. One of the only original Star Wars pieces I still own. Had sent it out sometime early in the year back in the early 2000's and she must have opened the mail on Valentine's Day and ended up signing it "Love to (name) and dating it 2/14, which was pretty awesome to get back and find in the mail. Got it PSA authenticated last year after just having it all this time.
Need to open up franchises store like toys r us but only for collectors
Not a bad idea
That is an awesome idea that would be a ridiculously crazy expensive and difficult undertaking. I certainly can't think of a business that's like that. I mean you have a few that will have a couple locations, but nothing to where it's nationwide.
how would the store owners get supply though? people come in from afar to meet ryan and the team, dont think you can replicate that.
Seems like a good idea on the surface but toy federation is cool because there's only one. Might be great business to have multiple but Starbucks isn't very special...
When I was in Colorado the closest dunkin donuts was like 45 minutes... made it feel better when I was in the area
Patty and Selma: MacGyver!!
That's cool all the action figures 👍
These videos need to be longer and they need to be weekly 😎
They are weekly.
Yay! 20 mins! I know you guys are super busy, and I absolutely love the content, But I think you should try longer format, or 2+ Vids a week.
Woohoo! Been waiting for this to drop today!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Do you guys have an on line web site? I'd love to shop for stuff at your store. Thanks
The card on that graded R2-D2 has some divots in it right above the bubble, that's probably what dinged the grade.
The card back you have for MacGuyver actually goes with the Pocket Knife, AKA “Super Canivete”. The MacGuyver card just says MacGuyver.
I like that Funko Pops are nowhere to be seen in the store… unless they are now hiding in a dark corner that we don’t see on camera. I imagine that floor space is too valuable to waste on them these days.
Now this is a video!!!! Back to basics you guys are awesome
I do not hear the term ‘lollygagging’ nearly enough.
I have a complete collection of all the 90’s Action Fleet ships and figures for Star Wars, Predator, Aliens and Starship Troopers plus all the Hasbro run of the Star Wars Action Fleet ships in the 2000’s. Some extremely rare pieces in the collection all in mint condition as well, but I never seem to see these lines show up in any Toy collecting videos. Would love to find out if anyone else has a complete collection as well and have no idea what they are worth as the rare ones never show up on eBay.
Where did you buy/order the display cases for your store (11:15). Thanks.
I dont even collect toys from this era, but I love these videos!
thats no moon, its a space station!!!
Loved this video.
I've never seen you guys with any StarCom toys ever. Have you guys ever encounter it ? One of my favorite line from Coleco. Too bad no one is reissuing them.
No! Sorry, you're not better because my memories were not at your store, 80's, 90's Toy's R Us will never be beat, surpassed or equaled too. it's nice you're here and better even that you share online. You help to keep those "TRU" memories alive and well. Thank You!
Awesome stuff. That MacGyver is sickkkkk.
Currently prized ..TMNT universal Monster black and white figures. So good. So exciting
I really like how the light was reflecting on that star wars
Holding XAI315K tight. I tilt my hat to you for mentioned it the first time
@ToyFederation Can I ask where you pick up those newer, taller cases you mention and show in the video at 11:12 or so?
Hm, those cases were mentioned the other month when they got them, I just don't recall if the specifics were given, other than those things are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Unless you just have money like that, you're better off making them. And you don't even have to go all the way with making the shelves, you could get some black bookcases from walmart and then add the glass doors. I like for my stuff to breathe, not imprisoned behind dangerous glass. So no glare, and if you want to grab something, you just grab it with no problem. At least this is what I tell myself to justify that I'm far too poor to purchase detolfs and other fancy IKEA-like cabinets.
As a kid I would tell my mom we need to visit Toysrus in the 90s and check out the news toys ... only to just demo new n64 games at their n64kiosk AND maybe buy one if mom was in a good mood. Ahhh so many great memories, best place for a kid. N64 games and toys!
Ofc ps1 was just as great if not better, but they didnt sell ps1 games there.
Those cases amazing
I havent been to a toys r us since the 90s but i would say that toy federation and modern toys r us arent even comparable . I live in the atl metro area and toy federation is my favorite store. I find more items on my list there than i do at joe or toylanta. I dont collect vintage though.
Appreciate that!
@toyfederation appreciate everything you do for us,between the videos and such an awesome store.
@@Amh10780
Not sure how old you are, but I'm 45, and it's the same with me with not collecting vintage stuff. I mean I've dabbled before with original Star Wars and Ninja Turtles, but it's all about the most modern superior (source accurate) versions of those characters. And I am very sentimental and nostalgic, I just don't go gung-ho over vintage stuff. Definitely really cool to look at, but I don't remotely have the money and space to get into every facet.
@Chalor. I'm 44. I would love to have vintage stuff and the stuff I had and wanted as a kid,but it's not only the price and condition I really prefer updated modern versions of those toys. Gi joe classified is a great example
@@Amh10780
Same here. Expounding on the Joe stuff, Ninja Turtles is another prime example. As awesome as those designs playmates did, I much prefer the cartoon accurate NECA versions. Are you into the Valaverse stuff too? I don't have any of 'em, but they sure get a lot of praise from the military figure fan base.
That Hakes auction or whatever the Star Wars Collector I saw his top 20 solds INSANE like 10k min 20k..... each or more it was like 300 THOUSAND on those few items like 1/1000th of his collection... I really wonder if that's just hype and good advertising or if graded stuff will actually hold value like that in 20yrs.....
Tikka to ride is the only Kennedy assassination story to watch.
Red Dwarf series 7 episode 1
I met Hulk Hogan and he signed his Sports Illustrated for me. (FREE!)
Love the mega blocks tmnt sets so awesome
HEY YO!
You can tell you don't collect Turtles, as you thought Tortugas Ninja was bootleg..it's actually the Spanish and Latin American name for TMNT, and is 100% legit.
Great show I can’t wait for the bravestarr next show
As cool and great as Toy Federation is, TRU was 50 or so minutes away, and figures weren't hundreds of dollars.
XAI315K get to $2? You can't seriously think it will stop at JUST $2 it's going to skyrocket
Never even knew they made McGyver toys.
Question guys if it's graded at 80 and degrades over time what happens to the grade
...you just keep it at that 80 grade. No mention of any continued degradation 😏. If someone really cares about that, and has the money, then that's on them.
definitely. but i must say if you are attached to a store like a Babys R Us then youd be unstoppable
True!
We all like R2. Saved more situations than any character
“Are we better than Toy R Us”, not for those that are looking for a great deal, and a collectible that will properly appreciate. 🤣🤣
I did not know macguyver had figures
MacGyver action figure!! HE BETER COME WWITH DUCKTAPE!
Do u do NYC comic con ?
You guys still get to enjoy shorts ????? fist bumps from Canada :)
Toy Museum!😱
I don't know about you guys but if I ever hit that billion mega lotto; I know where the first place I'm going.
Tatooine?😂
@@partycakes456 I'm gonna go to Toy Federation and when they ask me what I want, I will look around and say, "Everything." lol.
@@amusedjester
_Damn man_ 😂. That would be crazy to see. Like what would happen if you genuinely had enough money to buy not just everything you see on the "show room" floor, but ask how much would it be to purchase everything in the store room. So even though everything is now barren, Ryan would take a chunk of that money and start ordering. The whole place would look exactly the same after like a week lol.
@@Chalor. Hahahaha! So true, he could totally do that.
Your selection is far superior to Toys R Us
Bought 10K XAI315K tokens. Another 15K XAI315K tokens and now another 30K. Truly the best crypto out right now.
Super Bull Cycle for XAI315K. This coin won't stop profitting.
I mailed away for 4-LOM
...and legend has it, you're still waiting for it.
Yeah no one will ever be cooler than Toy’s R US
Anyone know the price prediction for XAI315K?
Meanwhile... as Craig watches the register...
You right lol
Please can you say what Hulkbuster at 15:57 this is?
Judging by its non-dynamic pose (so probably not a statue), I'd say it's the Hot Toys 1/6 scale version.
Ok so this was filmed in november?
Bring back the podcast!
Y'all store reminds me of KB-TOYS
I'm up over 60% in just XAI315K. I def ain't selling now lol
nothing. nothing will ever be better than 1980s - early 1990s tru. if you know, you know.
I believe XAI315K will defeat bit coin😂😂😂😂
Yo joe
Do you buy Hot Wheels collections?
XAI315K = Millionaire Maker
Ryan is a 🐺 in 🐑 clothing 😂
If you're saying he's dubious, like some cliché used car salesman, you're definitely inaccurate. He's a genuinely good guy, that's a fair and balanced businessman.
💞😍😍😍😍💞
I still don't understand how this guy mistreats all toys.
Whats the app on your phone you use to scan the carded boxed figures ect love your channel excellent shop would love to come
0:30 Is the word tr4n5f0rmer censored? Lol!
You wil never be better than Toys R Us unless you franchise and and sell all the new shit that kids grow up with. You definitley make adults happy though.
Number 1,Toy federation is much better than Toys r us. Facts. Number 2,took my son to get Lego yesterday,we live in Wales UK. Anyway, the normal toy shop said they sold out but to go to Toys R Us. Was very confused but discovered,W.H.Smiths,a stainonary/book shop chain. Now has a Toys R Us section full of toys. Even got a picture of my boy on the beach with Geoffrey. Just thought you US guys would like to know
Apparently toys r us is still going strong in Japan from what i have seen. Cheers from the US ! ! !
Wow!
Toys R US only sold new, complete, and not at rip off prices. So no. Everything this guy buys was sold in bulk at toys R us
You need to widen your horizens if anywhere near toy r us. Its all about touching every demographic when it comes to toys.
Nahhh, just focus on the cool stuff. We don't need bicycles and Power Wheels and toddler kitchens.
@@Chalor.nah your talking from a personal perspective not a real connoisseur/business collectible one, there’s cool bikes, cool toddler toys etc, that why Toys R Us where No1 and still are even now.
@@ceylangonen7387
I was referencing the original commenter saying Ryan needs to widen their horizons. Like it wouldn't make sense for Ryan to start carrying those aforementioned items. I mean unless he would genuinely be trying to come out with a company like Toys r Us that's nationwide, but that would require _waaaay_ more undertakings and funds than he's got.
They are BETTER than Toys R Us.
Shitter was full.
