Just bought my first home back in November so this is my first spring/summer taking care of a lawn. Mine is full of weeds and low spots, but your videos are helping me learn more and I know I'll have a great lawn in no time! Thanks for all the vids!
Congrats on the new home! Glad to hear the videos are helping out
youll have the best Lawn on the block in no time!
Nice information in there about how to keep that grass moist and healthy. So true about mixing your own products! Every time I come to your channel you’re growing exponentially, love it man, keep it up. 👍🏽
@@PrincessCutLawnCare pumped for it! I’m letting that grass grow out a hair so we can lay down some thiiiick stripes 👍🏽
After watching the Grass Factor and his take on “liquid aeration “ it is a nice thing to see George calling the product a wetting agent and stating what it is doing to help water get in better. Thanks for the honesty! Subscribed.
Liquid aeration... booooooooo... get the machine, pull the plugs with core aeration.
Another great video. I have learned a lot from them and look forward to more!
Love my MP Rotators! My front yard slopes so, it's essential that watering is done at a lower rate to prevent runoff.
Thanks George! You just introduced me to 3 new products that I can use on my lawn. Cheers!
I only recently found this channel and I am very happy that I did. I used to only watch CW and RK and although they make cool content, I just love the way you explain things. I can't even get most of the stuff you talk about in your video's because I live in South Africa, but at least I will have the knowledge when we do get them in 10 years!!
Thank you my friend, really appreciate that!
have you ever watched "the south african lawn" on youtube?
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Yes, I follow his channel as well. In one of his latest videos he also complained about not being able to get his hands on an aerator. We don't have a lot of people in SA that are into lawn care and we only have like four types of grass (Kikuyu, Bermuda, Buffalo and my favorite LM Berea) so watching you Americans is like watching the big leagues!
I'm up in Canada, Ontario to be exact and this will be the first time using liquid aeration. Great info mate and keep up the great work! love from Canada eh!
I'm in Ontario as well and I will be trying this as I know we have cables running under the yard so airation is difficult.
@@jampyzerozero6921 Lazy communications workers, just laying the cables under the grass. We used to cut hem with lawn spades. They would say you have to pay, we just laugh at them.
Most people water their lawns way too often. Quick, frequent watering results in shallow roots, which means it needs to be watered more often. It's a vicious cycle. I give my grass a good soaking, then I don't water again till the grass looks dried out, but before it turns brown. Then I soak it again. This promotes deeper roots.
I don't know how I came across your video but boy you are so helpful.
Thank you
Another great video with useful information! I had MP Rotators on my last lawn and they were the bomb, not to mention my wife loved the dancing sprinkler look.
Great video, George! Perfect timing for us in New England, as we’re seeing lots of drought stress already. That Aeration + Yucca and Hydretain looks like a great 1-2 punch.
Ka- POW 💥
Thanks dude! It’s been a crazy spring!
So dry it’s not even funny!
I might just brew up a batch of Aeration + Yucca next week... after the rain stops and the grass is mowed. Hydretain went down on Sunday, during a rain shower.
Lots of good tips here bud! Good work!
@@PrincessCutLawnCare been good my man! Working on a garage renovation these past few weeks. Got the summer off now too. Lots of lawn content coming soon! 👍 how about you?
Great Content as Always 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽Thanks for the link to the Kelp 4 less.
Ordering ASAP. This drought is destroying us in Delaware.
Thanks 😊 million 🤜🏽🙌🏽🤛🏽
Your lawn channel is killing it!!! Love all the tech adds. 🔥🔥🔥You have Strong lawn game sir
I don't have irrigation and made 3 of the DYI tripods over the winter and guess what I put on them? These exact hunter MP rotars.. I've been very pleased with them. I have 22,000 square foot and my PSI is only 62 so I can only run two at one time. I'm about to have another water spigot installed at the street so I can get the 90 PSI available at the street bypassing my pressure regulator, so hoping I can run three maybe four of these.. what I love about these tripods is you can put any sprinkler head on them to experiment. I used Shane Heath how to video for the tripod I built. I like the idea of putting wetting agent before the hydratain. Thanks George
Glad to hear it worked out for ya!
Im excited to check out the new diy mp stakes they look so cool!
appreciate you sharing!
Well done George. I'll have to look into using the rotator heads and see if they can reach far enough for me. I really don't want to add more heads.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare that would work perfectly.. I may just have to upgrade to the mp rotators. 🤔
Great content bro...really can tell your heart is into it and Im learning a lot..thank you
MP rotators are great. We switched all our customers out to them from nozzles when they first came out. Had customers on town water who saved $ on bill and was able to keep grass green easier. Good video
The best advantage to MP Rotators is how they perform in windy conditions however the biggest disadvantage is the cost, at least 300% more. You should also mention the type of turf you are working with, I live in Florida and see a lot of people move here from up north and get very frustrated with dealing with our climate, bugs and diseases.
It's always a great day when George posts a new video😁
Great info! Eventually I will build an above ground system with MP rotators. This morning at 5:30 I went out to turn on my Orbit sprinkler and the gear that rotates it broke😂 maybe this is a sign to build the above ground system
Thanks dude 😊
We will be showing the new diy solution coming up, may be something to look into!
I switched to MP800s last fall for overseeding. Once the heat came I thought I would have to water even longer in the 100°+ temps. I was wrong, I can still water just like spring because the water is actually is being absorbed properly. Using half the water compared to last year. Great investment.
Another top-notch video, my good sir. Keep it up. I hope it takes off for you soon! Blessings
Built 3 of these DYI sprinklers using the 22’-30’ blue MP rotators. Tbh I only needed two for coverage. Dialed in 1500sqft front and 1500sqft back. Tested with tuna cans and can lay down 1/2” in in 30 minutes with no waste. Looking forward to saving watering money that would normally be wasted with generic sprinklers. Btw, setting up the hoses is easy peasy once you know the set-locations. TY again
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I’ll definitely use the information for my own lawn.
awsome to hear Kevin talking about the product, giving some info i wasn't aware about
Hi I'm from Ireland and I've just subscribed!! We generally have no problems with rainfall here coupled with sun and heat you can generate a good lawn quality. The problem that I've had over the last few years has been moss growth and finding ways to curve it, it has been challenging to say the least. I have however through research come across a fertilizer that contains a bacteria (Bacillus subtilis ssl) that actually breaks down the moss and digests it saving you time scarifying and then I would recommend overseeding after that and if you had a bit of top dressing that would really finish it.
Great tips George. Just got my hydretain down... made a huge difference for me last year.
Great to hear! This is my first year with it and I can def tell a difference!
I was in the same cell block years ago with Kevin, he’s a great guy. 😝
yes ,and look what he has become....a successful home owner with the best lawn on his block , making informative videos to help people .what have you become ? My money is nothing.

Hi. Just joined the other day. Love your videos. I love working in the yard and I just bought my house in January and they didn't take care of the yard. I'm getting it together but this TX heat doesn't help. But it's getting there. Thanks for the info. You should come to TX and do a video.
loving the vids! keep the vids coming from much love from across the pond in the UK!
Huge tip told to me by an old Mexican landscaper - in the summer, water your grass at night - 7pm or so. I was stunned at how my grass responded to this versus my 530am watering which always left it challenged by the coming day's heat!
I dont undertand how people say dont water late evenings. It rains at in the afternnon and night too , no?
Thank you. We are in California in the San Joaquin and it has been hot a dry and we have another draught.
I agree a 100% on the MP rotators. I think the thing you should mention in another video is that they cannot run for 1015 minutes they need to run like a rotor you know 30,40 minutes.
On a larger circumstance like an RV resort or apartment complex you have to find out if you have enough time in the day to run them.
Thanks for the review of the MP Sprinkler Heads. I'd like to build an above ground system with these units. What other components do you suggest; spike, body etc?
Bud I would suggest the rain bird system they have a quick connect system that can water over 5 thousand square foot ... each sprinkler can cost anywhere fro 35 to 50 bucks .. I just finished my whole yard a month ago amd it is amazing.. they are in the ground .. easy and cheap you can hook up your entire yard in less than a half day and do it by yourself
Hi George, greetings from Poland, Europe. I did irrigation system using the hunter MP rotators and it's great. Proud to have the premium product installed 😀👍 I can share the lawn photos if you like, quite hard spring/almost summer this year but it looks nice so far 😀
Look at my boy with the kelp 4 less! And and loved that you call it wetting agents! Cus that's all they are! Yes! Keep up the great work brother! 🔥🔥🔥
Great job. The lawn is looking good!
It’s getting there! Reno still has to fill in a bit but it’s definitely better! 😊
Thanks for stopping by blankman!
Just recently moved into a new home that I purchased and the sod was dead in several places on arrival -- seems the builders did not water it in the days prior to our closing date. I will add some new sod and try these tips to keep it fresh!
Good video I did my own irrigation last year with black poly pipe, 3 4 zone spigot timers . and a ton of mp rotators, one of their biggest benefits is their low water volume requirement, I was able to add more heads per zone. I need to try this hydretain stuff looks promising. Also I would use some kelp in your blend, its great for summer stress. Kelp4less is great, the mixes are affordable and they last a long time.
Thanks! It’s all about that slow and deep watering!
Love those kelp 4 less products! Work work great and are fun to apply 😊
George - good work. I have the rainbird 5000's for my DIY setup but the MPs are great too.
- Patrick from Elkhart IN
Thanks Patrick!
The rain birds are solid as well!
Thanks for sharing 😊
George, Mike again. I have a few questions about my renovation I'm gonna start on. I just bought and received my 2 GCI cool blue 45lb bags of seed.
1) if I really wanna put it on thick, should I exceed the 10lbs per 1000?
2) once I seed, should I do what I done the 1st time and cover it with topsoil again?
Very informative video George, thanks. Quick question, when is a good time to water your lawn? During the day while the sun is out or evening, big cooler conversation at work.
Early morning between 4-6am. During the day just evaporates water and is wasteful. Late afternoon is ok but don't go too late. When water sits at night on the grass, it's prone to start fungus and disease.
I use those MP Rotators on a 22 degree slope. The water output gets absorbed slowly into the soil to minimize runoff. California has huge water restrictions.
Nice One George!! - Looking good~!!
Thanks dan! Im loving this shinobi for outdoor shooting!
Really appreciate the recommendation!
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Really glad that is working out for you, great little monitor. You can even get a little sun hood for it lol.... :)
Time for a renovation and some no parking signs on your strip of grass between the sidewalk and the road. Thanks for the content!
actually i just seeded it a few weeks ago! doesnt look pretty right now but its slowly filling in:) check out the video i made about it ua-cam.com/video/fgay0NwSUhY/v-deo.html
Do you have to water after applying liquid aeration?
1. Liquid aeration
2. Wetting agent
3. Water properly
Great video BTW!
Great video. Another tip for watering is to water from the top of the grade to the lowest. Usually from closest to the house to the street. We will have over 1.5 inch of rain between today and tomorrow and then we climbing into the 90's. It's been a weird spring weather wise. I'll definitely will try that aeration + yuca. Would you say it's similar to aer8?
Thanks bud! that is an awesome tip! Thanks for sharing!
Not sure about air8 but i like this one because it also contains 25 percent Potassium which is excellent for summer stress
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Thanks for sharing quality content with alternative products.
Great stuff George! Quick question, what is the adaptor connecting your stake to the sprinkler? I recently got the valves, sprinklers stakes, but didn't realize there is an adaptor needed to connect the two. Thanks for your help!
Good information George thank you. Checking out the watering system the MP Rotator.
Watching your videos my lawn has gone from embarrassment to pride!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
What I found is that you can mix MP rotors with traditional sprinkles you get uneven watering. Also, some water companies give away the professional model MP Rotors.
Good tips... hard in Canada to find some of the products but I like the thought and process...so dry right now the grass is screaming
Awesome video as always! Any idea how far those will throw? I definitely have a problem with windage.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Oh you’re talking about the sprinkler. Thought he was asking about the spray applicator.
Good video George, a little late for me to choose the mp rotators. Rainbird R-VANs were my sprinkler nozzle of choice. I think they have better dance moves 😅
That hydretain pulls moisture out of the air like my mother in law pulling 20’s out of my wallet
must be able to pull the water from nitrogen, and somehow take the water from that element cool stuff 👍👍
Ol Johnny Sins in the sprinkler business as well 😂😂
This is a great video and I agree about the fertilizing but here in central California we had about 1/10 of the rain that we normally get so we are very highly restricted on how much we can water our lawns, and if we fertilize them. Depending on what we use it only fries them further I myself use ammonium sulfate but I'm a gardener so I try to be gentle with whatever fertilizer I use but this is the worst year I have ever seen almost every line I do has a brown spots dead spots dying lawns are so dry!!!! I just cannot believe how dry the soil is. I've never seen the soil this dry in the 30 years I've lived here. Every gardener every other Gardener I talk to well I am a gardener that's what I mean is they're afraid to fertilize once because it will fry them because we can't water them but on the Eastern side of the Rocky mountains I guess it's a different story in Texas it's raining so much that they're sick and tired of it here in California it is bone dry this entire state is about to turn to dust powder powder
Used the MP's last year for overseeding and can connect a few of them in a line.
Yo do you think you could show us a DIY install with this product? I'm trying to figure out how to do it but can't figure out how to span long distances or figure out how many heads I need. Your videos are awesome man! Thanks for the info!
Funny you mentioned that! We are in the process of doing a video on the new diy solution!
Stay tuned!
Appreciate the support
I really enjoy these videos. I wish I could use all these fancy chemicals and stuff but my front yard is 1.5 acres and I'll go broke.
Thanks 🙏
No worries! they are just luxuries that will give you minor improvements.
Question for you after I put down fertilizer on the bag it doesn’t say you have to water the lawn after is this true ? I thought it would make more sense to water the grass after using the spreader
Hey, I had asked you a question last week about dallasgrass and you gave me a good answer. However, after further review I believe I just have a bunch of crabgrass. After I applied the tenacity, the weeds I thought were dallas are actually turning white. Plus, the seedlings are different. I'm 100% sure it's crabgrass. Now, I do have a few dallasgrass but way more crabgrass. OK, so my question is; when the crab turns white, do I dig it up or just let it die out by itself? Thanks
Once it turns white, it will not be able to produce chlorophyll and the risk of it seeding will be gone, don’t mess with it and it will be gone it a few mows
@@PrincessCutLawnCare thanks. That was my 1st time ever using the tenacity and with your videos it looks to be a success. Wish I could post pics for all too see
@@PrincessCutLawnCare sorry, 1 last question: I had just planted my new lawn. So it's not as thick as it will be. Since I have the crab grass dying, should I overseed now to fill in those spots left behind by the dead crabgrass? Or overseed in the fall?
Hi .... we're getting 4-5 days of crazy humid/dew point weather. Definitely fungus activity (North NJ, TTTF/KBG grass). What are the suggested cutting principles? I am usually at 3.5in and cut every 5 days. During fungus activity, continue cutting? Cut shorter? Collect clippings? Don't cut as often that opens up also foliage to fungus? Thanks. (P.S. I have been applying Propiconazole (2 apps so far in the last 30 days. Will be switching to other Fungicide group on my next app, but still minor fungus showing now on the lawn) ... also, is applying an organic fertilizer now like Milorganite would have a positive or negative effect? .......... currently my lawn is green, but as I brush the blades by hand, down in the soil level, I do see some decolorization, but overall, grass is green. thanks.
Hey Igor, good to see you again buddy, i would stay at the same height and cutting frequency your at now but just be diligent with your fungicide application, its normal to have minor fungus problems in these conditions. Sounds like you have a solid plan in place to switch up the fungicides , also i would deff apply some milo now as the warmer it gets the more the microbes in it are active so it can feed your lawn.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare George, what are your thoughts on spot treating instead of entire lawn apps. I'd say that about 10% of the lawn needs a "curative" rate.
got a link to the drill setup used to agitate mixture in your sprayer?
@@PrincessCutLawnCare perfect i actually ordered the 5 gallon one last night so glad to hear I ordered the correct brand. Keep up the great work.
MP head are awesome! But they clog and hang up after a while lot depending on your water mineral content.
Clearly he’s a salesman...and now I want to buy it lol
This system works great, I have installed it in my lawn and I'm really glad. Greetings from far-away land: Poland, Europe 😄
I have the MP nozzles front and back yard. Best ones ever. Easy to adjust as well.
I got the Rainbird version of these rotators, they are not very reliable. I have to pull them up to flush them all the time. I heard these Hunters were better because they flush each time they pop up, and have a slightly higher flow rate to help prevent the clogging that is an issue for this style of nozzle. I love the like and precipitation rate though. Gonna switch to Hunter MP as soon as time allows it.
Awesome, you’ll be happy with the mp’s , no headaches!
You can see them flush each time, it’s pretty satisfying to watch:)
Question for you I just put down fertilizer on my grass a couple of days ago and now I have yellow spots on my grass I can’t figure out why this would happen after applying lawn fertilizer to my grass any suggestions??
I have three products which one should I apply first tenacity hydretain and aerating kelp?
Any product that contains sodium lauryl sulfate will work as a great surfactant. Buy cheap baby shampoo or bubble bath from the dollar store and use in a hose-end sprayer. (I combine it with epsom salts, to green the grass).
Totally dude, I like using this product mainly because it also contains 25% K
@@tcap7917 You don't have to be too accurate. In an Ortho Dial N Spray, I use a cup of Epsom Salts, then fill to the top with hot water (to dissolve) and a little bubble bath. Shake well, then spray using the 2 ounce setting. If I want to soften the lawn (i.e. the ground), I'll fill the sprayer with neat bubble bath and apply that. Epsom Salts is so cheap, that I do the application about every two weeks and my lawn stays nice and green. I only do the bubble bath treatment when the ground is hard, to help prevent run-off. You'll get a big bottle of bubble bath (various fragrances!) at the Dollar Store. (Just be sure NOT to use anything that might be labeled as anti-bacterial).
I’ve been using MP Rotators for about a year now with a DIY sprinkler setup. Totally love these sprinklers. I’ve completely moved away from oscillating/impact sprinklers to these.
George, do you ever have to worry about your KBG creeping onto your neighbor's lawn? I am going for the golf course/ putting green front lawn but am undecided between KBG and rye. I am leaning towards rye because it doesn't 'creep' as KBG does. Thanks in advance bro!
No problem dude! no im not worried about that but i am worried about there grass creeping into mine!😂😂😂
Ill tell ya man the kbg is tough! it hurts my soul that i dont have a perfectly filled in lawn by now!
If i had to do it all over again i would do a 50/50 mix of kbg and rye
I wish that Kevin would have shown how to change the spray from 210° to 90°. I've been running MP nozzles for 2 years and haven't figured it out yet.
