- FIRST DRIVE: The F-150 is getting BIG updates including BLUE CRUISE from Ford for 2024. This truck competes directly with the Chevrolet Silverado, Nissan Titan, Ram 1500 and GMC Sierra. On the outside of this Platinum you will be greeted by 22in wheels, a new grill and front fascia. On the inside you will be welcomed by an upgraded leather interior, standard 12in infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 paired to an electric motor and mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Platinum PowerBoost the BEST hybrid truck to BUY?

I just picked up a 24 King Ranch a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it! I think it’s a better value than the platinum as well I got every feature of this platinum for thousands less. And love the brown interior!

I don't often think much about trucks, which is why I like that you cover them! I was really surprised by the 0-60 time. Much quicker than I expected.
the platinum lettering on the hood is tacky... like its trying too hard to tell the world that you spent $100k on a truck
I don't care for it but tacky it is not.

I think the changes and the Blue Cruise are a nice addition for 2024. I just still like the taillights, and I'm gonna zonk the fact that I took them till MY 2024 to give us a HUD in their trucks. I like the aluminum finish, but I would go for hopefully a trim available with a blackout appearance package would be sweet.

Blue cruise is not an addition for ‘24 - it’s been available and standard on the limited since ‘21 when this version of the f150 was introduced
I feel like the Platinum is the only trim that the Ford got right on this redesign. Personally I don't care for the Platinum on the hood, but this truck is sharp.
When I visualize what a truck should be, this is it. They should have included a bed liner for the price though.

torque is 530
I have the 2023 F150 Lariat Powerboost, it has 430 HP and 570 lb ft of torque. I think the 2024 Platinum Powerboost also has the same HP and torque.

You can't get the 5.0 in the platinum. For 24 model year.
It's all new and cool until you gotta pay to have the battery pack replaced

After all the tech emphasis, this may be a dumb question, but why didn't Ford install a bedliner to protect this truck? It's beautiful. And I love the wheels.

I went out and got the Line X aftermarket spray-in bedliner in my Platinum. Great product for less than what Ford charges you for the factory version.
I think the Lariat is the sweet spot in Ford's product line. I just got a 2024 Lariat Power Boost, with 7.2 K pro power on board, mobile office, tow/haul, FX4. Much cheaper than the Platinum, better payload, yet plenty nice enough for most of us.
No spray in bed liner at this price is crazy!

As a GMC Sierra Z71 owner I think that GM needs to be afraid of this truck, absolutely gorgeous truck that is loaded with tech and a hybrid to boot with 24mpgs and 700mile range is crazy good on a full sized pickup! I posted recently about a Ford pickup that looked Plain Jane but this pickup in very nice inside and outside and the bed set up is top notch, some might say $85k is expensive but I think if this was a GM product it would be around $95-100k .
Did you test drive both new ones back to back? GMC Sierra drives like a luxury car, Ford F-150 drives like an appliance. Huge difference when you actually drive them.
I have been waiting on one ordered since December 2023, with the new tailgate, here we are almost in to August 2024 and still waiting.
Super stunning exterior color along with two tone leather interior specific to the platinum trim with badging on the center console which tells the number they made these luxury pickup trucks just like the limited models

Am almost done paying off my 2019 ford 150 limited am looking forward in buying another one, or I’ll probably consider getting the big brother the 450 limited instead I’ve love ford there’s trucks are mean for luxury and style but mostly they built tough .

Disappointed they did away with the "Limited" trim level, also the front camera washer, the rear tailgate applique, the lighted step plates and the multi colored ambient lighting (at a quick glance). Although, I would still rather this than the GMC Denali Ultimate I purchased last year..

I have a late 2022 Platinum Powerboost, it’s an awesome truck. Almost identical to the 2024 complete with blue cruise.
If I hit the lottery, I'll take one with the 5.0 and the extended range gas tank.
Unfortunately for 24 model year you can not get the 5.0 in the platinum or King ranch. Highest level you can get the 5.0 is the lariat. Because those are my thoughts as well get the 5.0 Platinum then put a supercharger on it that was my intention unfortunately cannot do that for the 24 model year.

I agree with a couple things: the horn button area needs some love, along with the correct color Ford emblem. Vented rear seats, and where is the digital rearview mirror for that price?

The regular ecoburst has better MPG and range on the highway. The fuel tank is 6 extra gallons so if you spend most of the time on the highway and don't need the pro onboard power then it doesn't make sense to get the powerboost. Especially when you factor in that the insurance is more expensive. I got a quote for the 3.5, the 5.0 and the 3.5 powerboost and it was by far the most expensive around $170 more per year.

You can't go wrong with a full size truck, especially when you have different engine options to choose. The F-150 will always be one of my favs.

That’s a Platinum Plus. Why can’t these reviewers get it straight. The regular Platinum doesn’t have that interior combination, wheel set or grill. Also, it only comes in a power boost. The platinum you can get without a power boost.

Just a friendly FYI I can't believe you did not know this😮 anyway I do enjoy your videos but you cannot get the 5.0 motor in the platinum or King ranch model. You can with the lariat. I wanted a platinum model in the 5.0 so I can put the supercharger on it. The only model I can do that with now the highest level is the lariat. 2023 and older you can get the 5.0 on any model.

Have 2021 powerboost f150, mpg in reality about 18-20, if use gas a little harder no more than 15

I really love the F-150 lightning, but with how fast EVs are evolving, and I think GEN 2 is supposed to be out in 2028 last I heard this is probably the truck I’ll be going with next year. Plus I’m one of those people in Texas where that pro power onboard really comes in handy.

Seems like every truck brand took a step back with something.
Grandpa trims too much chrome. Powerboost kinda scarce. Not many available at the moment unless you go for an XLT.

My truck just started doing this it’s very scary feels like the transmission drops out at 60 mph u down to 10 mph instantly I almost got smashed by a semi as my truck wouldn’t pick up speed afterwards ! This is outrageously dangerous

Less speakers on the b@o, less led lighting all around, no more rear tailgate plaque. Fords been on a mission to cut quality and got yet raise prices. I almost built a brand new platinum in 2020 when the new model came out but honestly it’s unaffordable now. The interiors creak and rattle more than the last gen also.
We will see how this all pans out
