Your story brought back memories. The dollhouse that I played with as a child had a family made of porcelain. I also had a family of cornhusk dolls. They were the Porcelain’s servants😮It was like a tiny “Upstairs Downstairs.” I’m glad Saadi adores Marguerite just the way she is! He’s a good man doll!

My husband's Dad and Uncle in the olden days on their farm were experimenting with electric storage batteries to power the lights and a few slate roof for out buildings ( that roofing idea didn't go well). 😂

What a lovely, generous and creative box of treasure!!! I know your imagination is running in overtime, Gretchen!
For those “volts” - which I’m not familiar with -- if they are hollow and can be cut …I see the cut “cardboard” as an umbrella holder and the copper end could be cooking pot or flower pots. If they can’t be cut, maybe they could be used as “columns in making a fireplace or as posts on a porch.
I know we will be seeing many of these supplies made into some fabulous things, Gretchen!
Your porcelain, clay and various doll compositions SO reminds me of a well-crafted story we create share with children - as it helps them understand bigger, important lessons in practical, relatable ways! Love that! TFS! ❣️Kathleen

The big cardboard bolts are old "buss" type fuses used in electrical boxes for the main breaker box. They were used in conjunction with the old, round, ceramic and glass screw-in type fuses. They aren't hollow and really shouldn't be opened.

😭😭😭😭 YES! We are ALL made by ONE great Creator and we are all dolls AND everything starts out as dirt and clay. Im glad the wedding is going forward as planned and Margarite has realized just how much she truly loves Saudi. Sometimes theres a need for a bit of distance in order for people to realize and understand how they truly feel about someone. I've heard it said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. And I've also heard the saying that it's good to miss someone sometimes. That, too, can oftentimes provide clarity to feelings and situations. All distance or time apart isn't necessarily a bad thing.The big "bolts" are old buss fuses used in the screw in type fuse boxes in houses. The buss fuses were used for the house "main" breaker and if there was ever any electrical issue or work needing done, the main could be turned off without having to remove all the smaller, round, screw in fuses. They went out of favor awhile ago, though they can still be found in use.

Also!! The big fuses aren't hollow and they shouldn't be opened or punctured in any way. Sometimes corrosion can be seen around the seam where the copper meets the cardboard. If that ever becomes apparent make sure to discard them. Wear gloves and don't touch the corrosive material. It will look like white, powdery baking soda clumped together and there may be some green tint to it from the inside contents coming into contact with the copper. Don't allow children to play with them, don't get them wet, and don't have them near anything electrical like cellphone charger ends, plugs on cords, bare wires, or other metals. They can conduct electricity, so please be extremely careful with them. Maybe see if your son, the electrician, has any other suggestions. ❤

The dolls made from various materials could be used as a metaphor for the differences in people and how some people are treated differently because there is something about them that other people may see as a negative and use it as an excuse to be mean, hateful, unkind and unfair in their treatment of said person. Also, the feelings Margarite is having for Saudi being gone and what I wrote concerning absence and appreciation is a metaphor that can be used to show how we as "real" people can take someone's presence for granted and just assume that person is always going to be there and the appreciation for that person can be diminished. ❤️
