The longer you do it the more efficient you will become. After all expenses are totaled you forgot to add the most important thing. The entire time you are on vacation and seeing new places, traveling, and living on your own terms. Which is priceless. The average person is sitting in rush hour traffic every morning and night doing the same drive they have done for the past 10 years over and over again waiting for those 2 weeks of PTO once a year.
$25 per day to park is extremely cheap at what you mentioned.
TIP.....You can Park Anywhere You Want For Free in Canada or the USA in Any Truck Stop and They have Water, Dumping Stations, Mechanics , Groceries, Electronics, Restaurants, Showers etc. All Free and All of These Places are Free and Very Safe.
Happy Trails.
Cheers
Trucker Dave 😊❤😊
$760 is a lot for 2 people.
When I was with my ex we'd spend (rather I should say I spent) between $1,000 - $1,200 per month just for groceries. She insisted on going to Whole Foods and we'd walk out with 2 bags of groceries for close to $200 each time. And that wasn't even for the bulk of our food, just the luxuries. We'd still have to go to regular grocery stores to get all the main items to eat. Now that I'm on my own I spend about $200 per month on groceries and feel like I'm eating quite good.
Hey lloyd we did 2 awnings this year the cost of the tarp was 220 Canadian and I watch a video on UA-cam and with 2 people and limited tools we got it done ourselfs ...good luck mate
I think you missed cell phone coverage and internet access costs, those are two big one I think
We RV full time and have mint, $40 a month per person for unlimited everything and tmobile home 5g which is $50 a month for uncapped, unlimited internet. Literally half the price we were paying for our in-home internet. This is not a T-mobile add I swear lol
You need to boondocks to save money no rv parks ,we had two dogs and lived in van for a year stayed at free sites at lakes and in national Forrest found sites to find free camping it was great
In addition take a look at BLM lands. Those are free. You'll be hijacking of course, but so what. Better than a wal mart parking lot on the weekends
That’s sooo expensive for food! Lmao what are you guys eating!?!? Is it me? Maybe it’s me. 😂
Buying frequently means fresh hopefully. Pre planning meals is always a dollar saver versus hungry shopping.
Don't forget to change the Fuel and Air filter when you do the oil.
Brilliant video guys - thanks!
Thanks this is important info, and I especially enjoy the beautiful birds singing in the background ❤
Great video and content. I found this very informative to get a rough idea of how much to expect from RVing full-time. Thank you.
Good video I enjoyed it 👍
Wow! That’s way more expensive than I thought. I’m really surprised though that the gas wasn’t more. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us and for all the tips. Good to know. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your RV journey with us! We’re hoping to go full time in 2024! Lord willing!
Wow. The camp-sight costs is surprising. Are you guys using any sort of discount membership or something like Harvest Hosts, Thousand Trails, Passport America etc.? I feel like I've heard good things about those services, but haven't started RV-ing yet, so not sure if they're worth it.
My girlfriend, our two cats, our pup, and myself are about to embark on our USA tour as well! Starting in Tempe, working towards Cali, then back towards FL!
Our insurance covered our awning a couple times actually. It’s expensive to replace, probably 1500-2000
Thank you so much for sharing...👍🌹❤
I laugh because everyone asks "is it cheaper to live in an RV" and then start rattling off all the expenses that one has wherever one lives. Food, insurance, underwear, cleaning supplies, cell service. Yea, that is a total life budget. But the point is that you take some amount that you used to pay for rent, just money sent off to a landlord, and you apply THAT to gas, propane, vehicle maintenance etc. In many places today, rent is NOT CHEAP. That rent pays for a LOT of RV (housing) specific costs. The rest of those costs you have to pay anyway, and no, they don't go away because you now live in an RV. You still have to eat.
I think youre spending too much .. especially on food for just 2 people...but the bonus is youre seeing the world...so its worth it❤
Have you tried Hipcamp? Sometimes it has some good places. I haven't actually used it yet, but I plan on trying it this summer at some point...good luck!
Truck Stops will have a place for Bear to Run around away from traffic and people.
LOTS OF LONG HAUL TRUCKERS HAVE DOGS.
Cheers 😊
BLM land? Definitely check out Joshua Tree after LV! (large BLM free campground close by).
3k per month isn't bad considering you're traveling the country.
Personally I think that is a LOT! I'm in UK so that's around 2300 GBP. For that I could rent a detached house near the coast in beautiful surroundings, lake District or even city like Manchester/Leeds (£850 pcm) gas/electric (£200 pcm) water (£40pcm) rates (£170 pcm) TV/internet (£35 pcm)
That's around £1250 GBP so I'd have plenty left to run a car and go on lots of day trips?
Good luck guys, thanks for sharing and making me realise van life like many other things isn't all it's cracked up to be❤
campsites/RV parks etc are actually a LOT cheaper in Europe. The DCC Camping Guide lists many cheaper options, compares utilities and extra services, luxury, beauty and everything too. For two persons, 25 a night gets you quite a ways
I subscribed, I spend about 1000 a month, but I do food videos. Good job.
gar bear
Works out to be $150 a day AUD per person, food shopping is expensive I live alone in an apartment, the days of bulk shopping are gone, most fruit and veg don’t last longer then a week, unless you get it direct from hobby farms. The problem with RV they stand out I have a Regular VW Crafter long wheelbase it has my business name on the side, I also make coffee and food coffee counselling, I have all the right tags and stuff so I can park in loading bays if I get approval from the area, most places are ok, generally if I am giving a workshop that even have somewhere. I have a generator and solar panels, I take a trailer that has a BBQ and the motorcycles, mate good work on the blog
Good info....
But sounds crazy....
What did you pay for the RV? And do you think you will recoup that cost when you sell it?
I enjoy your channel. Sounds to me like RV life is too expensive.
All try Aldi for groceries
All of that is still under the promised rent that you have to pay every month no matter what, none of these expenses are as consistent and they’re still lower then a months rent. Especially for what those expenses are.
Amazing
Have y’all traveled thru Michigan yet? Know of any places to park here?
Winco is employee owned.
Guys, you are so cute!! )))
I can’t believe the cost of campsites in the U.K. it’s around £25 here or if you join a camping club you get around 20-25% discount. Do you not have camping clubs there?
Average rent for an apartment in the US is $1,713, average gasoline monthly $200, average monthly food spending $779 which is already above your monthly costs and doesn't include insurances or utilities.
My point exactly. That is not the cost to live in an RV, that is the cost to live at all. Ya gotta eat, ya gotta put a roof over your head. Ya gotta drive some amount. What does the RV itself cost compared to paying rent? Is it paid off or are you financing a $200K rig and $100k tow vehicle?
Glad you'll going back to Asia. I'm guessing that you figured out that Van Life is a very saturated area on YT. Plus N. Americans like myself aren't really interested in seeing more of N. America (I speak for myself). Best of luck to you & I look forward to your upcoming content from Vietnam. Cheers
How much you spend on Gas per month?

But we had to replace the entire mechanism too, once from wind, once from rain. It was an act of God so it was covered. 😊
rich people have it so good. £3000 a month for two people not much? $700+ a month on food? that is crazyyyyyy
Over 1000$ CAD on groceries? That's crazy.
I live in a pretty big apartment and I spend at most.....200$ CAD on food.
Must have a lot snacking or canned foods in there.
And I have a cat as well. (his expenses included)
Please keep a carbon monoxide detector in the RV, have enjoyed your videos!
“Their possessions”
Your can hear her Australian accent coming thru😂😂😂
He is Australian
She's Canadian I think
I'm a bit disappointed in the North American RV videos :( I was hoping you would show all the different towns you are going through etc... most videos have been just taking about RVs 😢
Have you watched Kara and Nate?
Harvest hosts
With a Class C... why not BLM to save $$$ for 14 day stay?
