Aside from providing good sport, ratting like this is also a very environmentally sound practice, where I live folks reach for the poison when they get some rats and the poisoned rats are then eaten by owls, hawks and other predators. This has devastated stocks of many small predators. Also it benefits not only the farmers but also the distillers as i drink a good bit of bourbon watching this stuff.
Thanks for uploading these. I don't know why they are so entertaining, but I can't stop watching. This looks like a lot of fun for the dogs and the people helping.
These videos are so addictive! My father in law is a dairy farmer and we used do some ratting with the labradors and other farm dogs, it is great fun and much better than introducing poison!
Some of those Rats are big enough to brand and put a saddle on. The poor Chook in the box was wondering what the hell is going on and thinking someone turn off the lights so I can go back to sleep!
Hurray Plummer Terriers! I get so chuffed watching these plucky little dogs. It is all just their favorite game to play, I especially like Bella. She's so ferocious! Are the white ones Westies and are they pups? They seem to have the fire but not the experience yet. Good on 'em for effort. Thorn is a warrior! That poor Chook, 😆! "Turn off the fecking lights, ya bastards!"
There is no better sound than of a rat in the jaws of a terroir! Thanks for the upload guys your videos far exceed any one else's on here....keep up the brilliant work you do in the fight against vermin.... all the best lads.
I love watching you guys work. It's so satisfying seeing the vermin taken care of, and I find myself saying "Good dog!" at the screen now and then. Please, keep recording your sessions- they're awesome.
Love your videos! The comments are good too! I love the squeaky toys reference. That is totally true! The more they squeak the more they shake them up!
Looks like the Schnauzer was bleeding from its rear and another dog at his elbow. No one seemed to notice. Don't the rats bite these dogs? That can't be too good for their health.
You won't ever run out of rats to kill. I heard someone say "killing vermin & this includes foxes as well. Is like removing buckets of water from a stream. As soon as you remove those then others from outlying areas quickly move in to fill the void. Nature abhors a vacuum. She fills empty space quickly, silently & seamlessly."Those Plummers are Craken good hunters. If they're not faster & quicker than the Jack Russells & Paterdales! They're neck & neck with them! Based on just what I've seen from video footage though, they appear more aware, quicker & faster? None the less great hunting dogs!
13:08 I really like that part. I just think it's funny, and I like that in some of the videos some of the dogs r helping the other dogs get rats it's just really funny to me.
Great video, as always, so thanks. Not surprised that rats live under hay bales. However, again I'm forced to wonder if anyone in the Severn Valley realizes that making your home or farm part trash heap is also very conducive to uninvited guests. If you watch a few of these videos, there is ALWAYS a trash pile that needs to be dug out. It's like everyone has a 10,000 square foot Petri dish in their homes, and then they have to call in the bacteria and mold police to sort things out.
Brian Salk that is the reality of farming... These farms, having visited them are very good, there are a lot worse out there. It's the feed that brings the rats in more than the mess tbh...
Farms are a full time job, you just don't get the time to do everything, especially around certain times of the year when you are collecting grain or it's lambing season etc. Things get put off to after the crop or whatever it is you are farming is all finished with, then, as here, you have a big clean up
Antipodean33 thank God. someone with a common sense comment. my grandparents were dairy farmers and barely had time to scratch themselves. easy to criticize if you are not in that position
matt Cullen, unfortunately people who are clueless about farm life and work seem to think it's a 40 hour a week job and on the weekends you can mow your lawns, clean the gutters and put the bins out. And as you would know, dairy farmers work the hardest, early morning starts 7 days a week. I'm a bricklayer by trade but worked on a grain farm for a year and I've never known work so hard, there is always something to be done, it's relentless work and many more hours a week than the typical 40
Antipodean33 exactly mate,,im a chippy (carpenter) I do about 45 a week. I'd hate to be a farmer. my grandparents used to get up around 4.30 am and finish around 9.30 pm 7 days a week with very little time to rest during the day. its hard thankless work with little reward and we as consumers still whinge about the price of milk. the supermarket screws our farmers constantly
Thank you for sharing this amazing experience and introducing me to Ratting. This is insane.!!!! I love it. !!! I live in NYC: you guys should walk your dogs at night, especially in the subway stations. :)
Those dogs are INCREDIBLE!!!! So amazing!!! Out of curiosity, do you ever worry about the rats biting them and giving them a disease? Thanks for sharing these videos! So awesome!
While the rats were preparing to assault the barn and stables, the special command of the dog forces was ready to repel the assault. Congratulations on the human and dog team. Good job guys! 👍👍👍
Never seen so many dogs at one time with so many "Chew Toys"! lmao!! I've "copied & pasted" several of these links and sent them to friends and relatives all over the USA, they're all going to love them.
without a doubt these plummers are the best ratters on youtube, pure class, brilliant noses and great catch dogs, they seem to make other terriers look very slow, are they any good for ferreting/bushing and can you trust them with the ferrets when bolting rabbits if you do use them for this
One of the dogs - I think it was thorn had a large patch of blood from a wound on his right fore leg. Was he ok or did he need to go to the vet and get stitched as it looked quite bad towards the end ?
I think it is natural for them to Hunt the Rats, but I think that after a while they were trained a few things like "dead" for example, they picked up that "dead" means drop it.

I agree. It is the most natural pest control I know.
fringehead I enjoy a nice Jack Daniels and coke while watching it
Well said and I like your style !
Thanks for uploading these. I don't know why they are so entertaining, but I can't stop watching. This looks like a lot of fun for the dogs and the people helping.
That evening looks to be like christmas for dogs. Everywhere is running grey squeak toys just waiting to be bited :-) Great video!

I have no idea why this is so captivating, but it really is
Great to see the Dogs enjoying themselves in all the Ratty goodness!
Lovely Puppies and doing such a GOOD JOB! Need more lights for the Puppies to see by!
These videos are so addictive! My father in law is a dairy farmer and we used do some ratting with the labradors and other farm dogs, it is great fun and much better than introducing poison!

Love it. So satisfying to watch. It's great to see good dogs working and having a whale of a time. These vids always cheer me up. Cheers guys.
Some of those Rats are big enough to brand and put a saddle on. The poor Chook in the box was wondering what the hell is going on and thinking someone turn off the lights so I can go back to sleep!

My Bichon Frise thinks she's quite the "Ratter", she's caught a few Roof Rats here in Arizona and left them on the doorstep for the Mrs. to find.
grate videos of the dogs working hard and having fun . do the dogs take much damage from the rats ?
HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME.
Poor Thorn! Hurt leg, flying rats, and he keeps biting. :)
Hurray Plummer Terriers! I get so chuffed watching these plucky little dogs. It is all just their favorite game to play, I especially like Bella. She's so ferocious! They are Sealyham Terriers, one of them is a pup.

I think I saw these guys in the Netflix documentary called "Rats."
Love watching working terriers in action. Keep these videos coming.
These dogs are fearless and having fun. Crazy Cool. It's like a switch gets turned on and these dogs just are on a mission.
There is no better sound than of a rat in the jaws of a terroir! Thanks for the upload guys your videos far exceed any one else's on here....keep up the brilliant work you do in the fight against vermin.... all the best lads.

Love to see dogs at work, not just for decoration!
now thats how to properly get rid of vermin 👍
Love Toad’s chicken. Also LOVE you had Sealyhams there, too.
A bunch of new pups? They've got the instinct, don't they?
joec0914 I noticed that as well 👍😃
Best terriers on the planet, real beaut little dogs
That close-clipped sealyham is givin' the plummers a run for their money!! Damn fine ratter!
Looks like the Schnauzer was bleeding from its rear and another dog at his elbow. No one seemed to notice. Don't the rats bite these dogs? That can't be too good for their health.
That white one is always bleeding from the butt. Idk what's wrong. Hemorrhoids?
@@camojoe83 I hope that whatever it is that its not a serious problem.
Excellent and the chook was happy watching the dogs.

Another great video! I could watch these all day! Question. How many dogs do you use?
without a doubt these plummers are the best ratters on youtube, pure class, brilliant noses and great catch dogs, they seem to make other terriers look very slow, are they any good for ferreting/bushing and can you trust them with the ferrets when bolting rabbits if you do use them for this
Your videos are oddly satisfying. 😏

You should give those rats a sporting chance and dip them in lard first! 😄😄
Were the dogs OK at the end of the job? It looked like a few of them had blood on them.
Bella!!
Bella is fantastic
Super
a happy dog is a working dog and these are the happiest dogs I've ever seen.
I’m was just wondering if these dogs are your pets or just working dogs?
the real macoy
go bella!
go bella!
Sooo many rats, woah!!
do they ever bite the dogs?
are the dogs 🐶 trained to hunt them ?
is this considered a sport ?
I DON'T LIKE THE BASTARD RATS!!!!!!!!!
xX💙
I think it is natural for them to Hunt the Rats, but I think that after a while they were trained a few things like "dead" for example, they picked up that "dead" means drop it.
But do the rats bite the dogs?
Do you treat the dogs wounds when they are done working?
Good dogs work!!!! 👌
@3.38 the one that got away.
