I'm in an After Effects college course and this one video has been infinitely more helpful than anything else I've learned so far. Thank you SO much, I greatly look forward to the next installment.
@@eisenhalle9328 Check if the program you are going to use the most needs more memory. Some programs needs a better graphic card (meaning better memory, as Blender 3d. Others requires RAM memory)
@@eisenhalle9328 my perception have been widened over past few years for non 4k box office editing, doesn't require you to have high end gpu or cpu at all. Here's the sweet spot : ips monitor/tv(yes, been there it's actually decent nowadays), 4 core cpu with turbo boost(doesn't have to be lastest one) , high speed ram lastly the most important thing is sdd for editing then for saving long term you needed a hdd that's all. I rarely comment but I have to say that this is the best tutorial by far for using After Effects to add VFX to an animation. Literally no other tutorial goes in depth about the entire process
I am only now discovering that "preserve transparency" box, and that could've saved me soooo much time on past projects. Thank you so much for saving my future project!
in tvpaint, you can export "layer structure" (as psd sequence), and have the layer structure on after effects. about the frame rate. you can define the fps after effects interpretates the sequences. in "edit - preferences"
This is probably the best and most informative compositing lesson I've found on UA-cam. I have been looking for good guides on creating a 2d animation compose for a long time, but I can't find anything so useful and compressed in the public domain.
Great examples. Love your work. For those that may not know, You can set up your preferred interpretation in the preferences, so you don't have to do it on each import. Also you can double click the ellipse tool and it will fill the frame automatically.
you gave whole information that is years of experience and hard working and knowledge enough to put it in 2 basic and advanced courses and you gave it all in a video and free! I never forget this because always compositing was a great challenge for me and you are my savior thank you, thank you!
The timing of this video couldn't be better, because I was just about to research effects that can spice up my animation thesis. Thank you so much for this handy video!!
I adore your works and you giving time to teach us this. My animation teacher never went to depth with After effects. Its more you do a final project and she gets credit for " Helping Producing" when she never guide me on anything..
This is such a clear, helpful and in depth guide I'm so glad I found it! Just in time for my animation final and I gotta say it's more useful than most of my classes were lol Thank you SO much for sharing this with us!
Technology is truly fascinating, and you sir are a freaking life saver. Every questions i had have been answered, and my life is complete. thank you so much!!!!
Oh wow!! I wanted to do something like this for my class 2d short movie, but I didn’t knew how so I didn’t do it in the end, plus not sure if I would have had the time, but I will definitely use this info for next time
How have I never tried that rim lighting trick? That's brilliant, and it'll save me a bunch of time. Thank you! I learned some really cool tricks from this
This is soooo badass!!! I've been using flipaclip all my time animating....I can't believe there was all this!!!! This also too looks confusing to use...that's why I'm so intimidated to start animation on a PC!!!
I'm not a pro at either. But I tried doing this in premier and it gets messy and tricky. Whats nice with after effects is there seems to be more options, better layering, and organizing (especially with the pre-comps and such). Itj makes for an overall more accessible and cleaner workflow.
Do you have any suggested tutorials as well? I noticed it's hard to find specific after-effects ones that cater solely to adding to a finished 2d animation piece.
Amazing and important video. Could be nice and very helpful to a lot of people if you could make a little course that goes in depth to this kind of stuff.
Absolutely loved that video !!! I struggle a lot getting into after fx for animation and these quick tips can be a starting point for me to learn more. Would love to see other videos like this if you're willing to
i had NO idea you could loop png sequences through the "interpret footage" window, you've saved my life

I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS EARLIER TODAY WHOOOOAH
Okay calm down everyone
Considering I'm about to build a pc that can actually handle video editing this Friday, this is excellent timing
I’m also planning to do the same. What specs do you plan to build? Would just want to see for reference~

Build? From what? There's a global shortage of pc components. Graphics cards prices are through the roof.

At 13:00 minutes, you could just duplicate the animation/image etc. and add the fill effect to it to save some time.
