Proff, I am happy with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. But your knowledge of fashion .....priceless. Love watching.
There you go Wolf 🔥
Don't let the trolls get to you, Proff! You are doing a great job
Of course not 😅
Wonderfully put! Education on hat etiquette is needed and appreciated
Indeed Brendon 🔥
I love watching these videos and I’m neither a man nor am I married…just love the knowledge.❤
There we go Keisha 😁
Let’s keep going dear
Hats may be worn in public areas but not private areas. Reception areas, waiting rooms, elevators, malls, outdoor restaurant tables are public areas. Homes, indoor restaurant tables, and other areas where small private affairs are taking place, hats should not be worn.
Being viewed by million people around the world? A little optimistic dear old boy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No a hat must not be worn indoors at any cost
Please listen again sir
There are exceptions to every rule
@@alimuzhussain8394According to you
I was always taught that an elevator is a private space, same as say someone's office, and a gentleman should remove his hat. And so I do. Churches are another place where you should remove your hat.
@@mph7282 All very good points
This is good advise. I guess for the "non performing" gentleman, a good rule of thumb would be: Imagine you were wearing a coat, if you're not wearing one already. Not a sports coat, a trench coat, greatcoat, even car coat. Outerwear. Now, wherever you go, consider if you would take the coat off or not. If you'd take the coat off, you should also take the hat off.
Very good rule of thumb Komrade 🙌🏾
Thank you Proff, I’ve never seen an issue with you wearing a hat on camera, but I’m glad you cleared this up for other viewers. ^^
Of course not my dear ☺️
As an individual who enjoys wearing hats, thanks very much for that clarification on when and where a hat should be worn...I have often been told that a gentleman should always remove his hat indoors whenever in the presence of a lady again thank you very much!
There you go Frankie
I started wearing a hat after speaking with a Dermatologist. They reduce your risk of skin cancer. At first it felt odd. But now I do not feel properly dressed without my hat.
That’s a smart move especially if balding
Exactly, Prof.
That’s right Sir
Very Beautifully stated Proff. I love the outfit as usual, especially the shoes.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Works for me....... Nuff said
Thank you Big Poppa
Thank you so much, I was looking for this!
Thank you and welcome aboard 😁
Prof is always Right,, listen ,, ( critics) you may learn something from this gentleman 💜💜
That is a GREAT explanation. Well done, Sir!!
You’re welcome Kelvin
Thanks Proff. By the way I enjoy how you paired that dark hat with the rest of the outfit
Thank you 😊
It was a most natural pairing
YOU ARE CORRECT, GOOD SIR!
@@darylowens8854 Tell em Darryl 😁🔥
I agree Proof as I wear my Fedora at certain public event well said....... Two thumbs up👍🏿👍🏿
Question: what about wearing a hat at a party? Say, a private home but with lots of people enjoying a drink, some light bites to eat, music, chat and general enjoyment. I have worn a hat in this circumstance and enjoyed it. Have I pushed the etiquette boundaries?
Tony
p.s it was a felt fedora.
Not in someone else’s Private Home no matter the occasion
C'mon now all due respect but in certain cultures especially in the black culture hats are worn at parties indoors go to Detroit and Chicago u will see this has been going on forever@@AskOkeyInc
Well said PROFF!
@@ElizarGonzalez-z4y That’s right Elizar 🔥
Very well explained
With great pleasure Mike
Never of the means to be in the style you advertise, but still of the means to practice etiquette (as in you don't need any means to be polite). I always got annoyed with people telling me to take my hat off unnecessarily, I'm in costco not your fricking house grandpa.
Rock on, Proff! I agree. Indoor hat wearing such as in a hotel is fine and even all the way up to my room. Same for airports. I'm doing my part to bring back the hat!
@@johnnie2638 Let’s GO Johnny 🚀

Brother, just ignore these naysayers. They have an agenda that is different from obtaining accurate knowledge on fashion etiquette. I see it all the time, especially when it comes to women & other ethnicities. Their attempt is to merely discredit your authority as a reliable adviser. Keep up the outstanding work!
Q: how about at indoor sporting events, movie theaters, performances, etc.? Public space rule suggests that it’s ok to leave on. But, I feel like etiquette demands removal for respect of those immediately behind you.
& I second that 😊
Thank you and welcome aboard Tru Shadow 🔥
@@AskOkeyInc no thank u! brethren keep up the fine work

Spot on
This makes me want to wear my hat again. I have two beautiful Christys fedoras. You look fantastic as always

In due time Samy
@@AskOkeyInc thanks 😀

Go right head Chris
Absolutely right; watch Raymond Reddington.
Going off at a tangent, your outfit today looks very smart of course but, matching jacket and waistcoat/vest with non-matching trousers/pants looks a little odd, to me at least.
a video just for me. thank you proff❤
There you have it 🔥
Come on performer!! I love it. I wear hats as well!!
Thank you Kev 🙌🏾
How about if you're in someone's office?
Good to know 👍
You’re welcome Johnny
Master of European etiquette.
How about at a table? If it is a private dinner in somebody's home - it is clear from this video. In a restaurant I would also remove the hat. However, maybe an indoor cafe is not that clear cut of a situation - what would you do?
Could you please explain where sunglasses should be worn? I usually take mine off when entering indoor public and private spaces.
Well they are called sun glasses for a reason 😅
Awesome thanks 🙏
Of course Wayne
how about for dinner at restaurant - hat on/off suit jacket on/off??✌
Teach!
I shall Mack 🔥
A wicked heart is of more concern than a man with a hat in my house.
I’d imagine so 😅
Honestly, I know this isn't correct but I take it off if they have a space for a hat (coat hooks/racks or a shelf, etc).
If they don't have one then i keep it on my head because it never ends well if i put it down on something.....and its really gross to put it on a table people eat at.
Indeed a bit of a conundrum 😅
Y’all thought you could come for Proff and he made you all face the wall as punishment 😭
FIRE for FIRE 🔥 😅
I'm going to need a larger closet
Go on right ahead 🔥
restaurants? Church? Driving your car? Movie theatre or concert hall?
Good questions. I would say that being in a restaurant means wearing no hat. It's not a thoroughfare. Same goes for church or theatre. As for driving a car, many people wouldn't have the headroom for a hat anyway so it's a moot point for most.
@@ABC-rh7zc Good points - this is connected to the presence or absence of a coat rack. Most concert halls still have either a coat check or rack. I am going to check out some old movies and talk to some older gentlemen who may remember.
Restaurant: At the Bar not at the dinner table
Driving by your car. Of course if you wish and there’s enough headroom
Concert Hall: Not unless you’re on stage
Bars and pubs might be the modern exception?
YES
I’d wear my hat at the bar or pub for sure
not indoors, and that is that
@@curtrod As you wish
Restaurants are public spaces but it would be weird wearing a hat while eating or having conversation with someone over a coffe. What do you think about that Proff? Watching pleasurely your videos by the way 🖐🏻
If there’s one place you DO NOT wear a head covering it’s at a table, eating. It’s a shame parents don’t teach their kids this basic etiquette.
Good question, but hats are NEVER WORN at a dinner table or while eating.
As I understand it, you can wear your hat at the bar, or counter, but not at a table or booth.
I would take off my hat at the dinner table as a mark of respect to my co-diners
@@YakubibnEsauYES I’d agree
At the bar or counter, YES but not at the dinner table
In general people have lost the art of “dressing” . Proff - do you think hats/caps are acceptable at some dining venues and not others? Say you are at a pizzeria or coffee shop vs a fine dining restaurant ?
I personally only wear a hat in the summer. A Panama fedora.
A Panama Hat is a standard I believe for any man in the summer
Where do you get your hats from? If you don't mind me asking

...when is raining, it is cold, sun is burning my face and neck..want to add some high to my stature (stetson 10...)hanging around the swanky dudes in Nigeria. Freak my neighbors, wearing a black top hat on Wednesday...sometimes, for the heck of it.
@@pepepepito623 Right on 🔥
The only exception to being hatted in public is sitting down to Dinner right Proff? A gentleman always takes his hat off at the dinner table especially with ladies present.
That is ABSOLUTELY correct Jack

I see Men wearing hats in church, I don't think that is right.
ABSOLUTELY wrong sir
I surely wouldn’t recommend that

Anyone wearing a hat inside of a building doesn’t know how to wear a hat.
A hat should be worn at a funeral, a day out with a beautiful woman on a Sunday afternoon in the park . ❤️♥️❤️♥️

What about the courtroom or in a church?
I believe that a man should where a crown whenever he enters into the public atmosphere.
So do I pharaoh

In some dance communities a hat worn on the dance floor is appropriate. I dance the Chicago Stepping Community. I am never without a hat.

Proff. Im a welder. Lets make an 18oz cotton or wool welding shirt, heavy duty and durable. But also professional and styalish. Many welders wear ascots too. Expand your market.
So it's okay to have your hat on while eating at a restaurant😅

What about a funeral ? Inside a church?
Would church be a public space???
Church is church. Men take off their hat, even outside, as a mark of respect to God. Ladies leave the hat on, for the same reason.
Also: no hats in church.
Proff, I see guys wearing them in church and it looks disrespectful. Actually, it looks distracting when the hat is worn..
@@wilfredopiris7335 Surely not men 😅
Women are allowed to wear hats in church
Hello. As a man, you should also take your hat off when you enter a church. This would be in reverence to God.
Can I add if no one has churches and religious spaces. Hats should be taken off in church.

Bless you Tracie dear
Is there ANYTHING this man looks bad wearing !?
Nice fedora
I've always wanted to wear a stylish fedora, like Frank Sinatra, one of my fashion role models.
Unfortunately I've just never been able to find any hat, fedora or otherwise, that looks natural on my head... So the only hat I ever wear is the occasional 'baseball cap', and then only when outside doing yard work, or you know, actually PLAYING baseball ;).
@@StreetPreacherrtry Akubra. I can’t recommend them enough.
@@YakubibnEsau Is this the style that Paul Hogan wore?
@@StreetPreacherr I think what he wore in Crocodile Dundee was called the Croc. More of an Outback style than a fedora.
Thank you 🙏🏾
