Alright I already know people are going to ask so here's the long and short of it. I planned originally to do a bit of something for each of the Law, Chaos and Neutral endings. However, when I started recording the footage, what I did not know was that if you passed a certain point in the game while your alignment was too far in one direction, you would be locked out of the other two endings. Sooo... because I'm a nice guy and I never did anything naughty (aside from kill puck), I ended up trapped in the law route and only found out once it was too late. So if your looking for the probably much more satisfying neutral ending then I apologize. I also apologize for this video taking so damn long. Real life responsibilities are a pain in the ass >.>
If you still have a save file from before the alignment lock, you can go and kill Gimmel. You get an alignment choice after; choose the Chaos one and you might be able to do the other routes. Though I get the feeling a save that far back isn't there anymore based on how you worded that comment...

Ahhhh, Aleph's entire rant against YHVH was absolutely perfect. And starting off with the whole mother/girlfriend thing and ending on how HE was the one who was behind everything, taking all the wind out of the God of Assholes sails. Just magnificent
Aleph being a six year old? If you take certain bits of dialogue together, the implication is that he's the little boy that went missing six months ago that Hiroko was looking for at the start of the game. Mekata also states in his monologue that he was able to instantly age Aleph ten years after his birth. The conclusion to draw from this? Aleph isn't six years old. He's six MONTHS old.
If that's the case it means that aleph,during the whole game,is ten(at least physically). And it isn't the case. So he lived a few normal years and then he was accelerated or he was added 17 or 18 years
@@yorgo2255 Mekata probably just aged him again before they got separated, or Aleph just aged faster over those six months anyway. I just don't see any other way to interpret it all.

I noticed a lot of typos for the custom dialogues, but overall: I think you did this game justice. I can't wait to see more of another game from SMT of that's on the horizon. Or perhaps another Tales game?

What a trip... I played this along your video, watching as I advanced in the story. We diverged when I chose the neutral path, but very happy to have finally seen this through. I had an incredible time, played through on PS1 in Japanese. This game was really something, definitely one of the best in the Megami Tensei franchise. Thank you for your video, it was a nice solace in the lonely world of Millenium

So basically in the Law ending Zayin first follows YHVH's orders and kills everyone left on Earth,then goes against YHVH because he didn't agree with him? Why didn't he go against him since the start?
The way I see it there's a couple ways to think about it. Either Zayin always thought God was an unworthy ruler, but agreed with him that the destruction of Demon-kind was necessary for man to survive. And the sacrifice of every human not on the ark was an unfortunate but unavoidable side effect of that plan. Or he was literally incapable of defying the order he was created to follow, to "judge" and his judging of God was inevitable once everything else had been. Either way he doesn't come across as the most empathetic guy does he? Who knew Satan could be such a dick.
@@firescale2091 There was a GBA re-release of SMT1 and SMT2 that adds a lot of new flavor text, and confirms the second one: once Zayin was transformed into haSatan, he had a voice in his head brainwashing him into following YHVH's orders. In the final boss fight, he twists the brainwashing back in on itself by following the orders literally: if he is to be YHVH's judge, he will _judge YHVH_
I totally LOST IT and the moon pillar dancing contest section *lol*....now I want a SMT2 Dancing all over Tokyo game :p Also why does FF5 music seem to fit this game so well when you're trekking around.....??

I dislike having to watch the screen for all the dialogue. I like to listen to reviews at work. More of a me problem i know. And several of the text sounds you chose for characters are really anmoying to listen to with no context for 2 minutes. Lol😂
Speaking as a massive fan of SMT (who thinks II's story is especially top-notch despite certain flaws), I think you've made a fantastic video. It does a great job summarizing the plot and piss-taking certain less-than-sensible elements, and most of the humor is pretty good (I think the fortune teller bits are a little too on-the-nose, but they're inserted at logical points. Even then, Aleph's rant and the Daleth scenes more than make up for it). Speaking as a fiction editor, though... There are A LOT of typos and grammatical mistakes in those custom dialogues. They're still legible and you obviously put a lot of effort into writing / placing them, but they still detract a little IMO. At the risk of sounding pretentious or self-important (since I'm unsure if you'll even see this and had no other means of contact), would you be interested in having someone edit these dialogues for you in the future - if you're still using them for other JRPGs Told Long? Obviously I'd be interested in helping out, even if it's in a small capacity!
It's a kind offer for sure, but my channel has always been nothing more than a hobby of mine, and most likely will remain that way until I either run out of ideas or lose interest in video making. So I would be... I guess uncomfortable is the right word, to ask a stranger to proofread or edit my stuff, especially considering I wouldn't really be able to compensate them. Still I am very grateful for the feedback, and should I ever attempt something like this again I will endeavour to check my work far more thoroughly than I have been.

This was sooo good, this vid gave the love smt 2 deserves. I played through the neutral ending, and while i like the chaos ending best i loved seeing this law ending. I’ll probs end up rewatching this vid 50 more times, the editing and jokes were top tier. I look forward to what you create next!
