Important updates to my video mentionned in the document that I'm leaving here as well:
“Cache Dump” section: It is said the cache dump is about 5GB in size. However, about 1GB has been stripped away as it only contained resources that aren’t used within the game. That means the cache is now about 4GB in size.
“Update the English Patch” section: The current quick updater (v0.6.0) supports clearing cache from all of the most used browsers as well as some KanColle viewer alternatives like poi or Electronic Observer. To update properly, make sure to run the program until it closes itself (except if you want to cancel) while reading what it tells you. There is also this new “_enable_update_checker” file you can run to enable automatic update check upon launching your PC. If you have any third party antivirus, I recommend whitelisting the English Patch folder.
“Clear Chrome's Cache Properly” section: The shortcut to clear your cache has been moved in the latest version of Chrome. It can now be found directly in the three dots menu, and has a trash can icon.
Even since the anime came out many new foreign player start to try KanColle, glad KanColle still going strong among non-JP community
I don't play too much but I am always going to stay loyal to my Kanmusu. I had to wait 8 years for this anime.
A very enriching experience for returning and new aspiring admirals alike. Like the comprehensive tutorial about not only the englisch patch, but the KCCacheProxy and assets dump also. Good job!

I hope the creator will officially release the game outside japan, azurlane is overtaking kancolle right now, alot of people didnt even know this game existed.

It's more complicated than that... the creator doesn't decide whether or not the game leaves Japan.
Since it officially never left Japan, it's only natural a more accessible game would become more popular overseas; but within Japan, both games/franchises are alive and well, and indeed the fact that they announced a new KC anime shows that.
I don't want to be offensive but Azur Lane has a completely different target audience. I believe most of their audience wouldn't play Kancolle. Plus some mechanics require overhaul the game became slightly outdated in some aspects.

Thanks for this great video. I am playing Azur Lane since 1+ year but since the beginning I heard a lot of references and a lot of talks that somehow mentioned Kancolle. I had no idea then. One day a person told me that "Azur Lane is actually a ripoff of Kancolle. You can find everyone playing it because no one can play Kancolle as it's region locked. No one can access it outside Japan". I was so curious about playing Kancolle.

Neat! Though Azur Lane isn't really a rip-off of Kancolle, both games are completely different despite their common theme.

Idk who I have to shoot. The game was literally visible confusion. I won't play it. How can I when it's a front scrolling game instead of side scrolling and enemy is invisible and also paid too. F azur lane, I will play Kancolle only.

Wow, I've been trying to play the game for 2 years and I'm so happy I can play it in english. I never though a language patch for the game would exist, but here we are. btw here's 2 questions:
1. When should we use the Damecons, because you told us to lock them for later?
2. When does the summer season begin/end?

1. Damecons (if you don't buy those in the cash shop) should only be used in very specific places in events
2. The swimsuits you mean? They usually start at mid to late July and end in some time in September

1. Event maps where you can abuse submarine tanking, which involves forcing certain enemy ship types (including certain bosses) that are ASW-capable to waste their turns attacking it over surface targets on your side. Damecon is used to keep your submarine safe until you reach the boss node.
2. Certain advantageous routing may require weak auxiliary ship, so it is considered acceptable to use Damecon on said ship to lessen the retreat rate.
Due to the existence of repair node, example 2) may come up more often, but it's oftentimes better to just accept retreats caused by your auxiliary ship until you enter the final phase.

Running pre-patch all assets is mostly only useful to speed up the loadings when playing for the first time. After that, since not many textures will be updated or added anymore, just updating the patch and playing should be fine, as the new asset storage and patching will be done on the fly!
Some updates have been made to the quick updater, so now it should let you clear the cache from more browsers than only Chrome, and even some commonly used standalone viewers.

Thanks for the great help, had to reinstall the whole thing once and verify cache once each but I finally made it through the tutorial instead of stuck on black screens.
Gotta ask though, how'd you get those Ooyodo and Akashi skins...
They're automatically applied by the devs during summer! Skins in this game are basically free, but there's no way to swap between them as you wish.

Kancolle is pretty rough, I feel like I need to have a large 3 ring binder complete with charts on equipment, lists of ships and construction, and maps with details on fleets to bring to certain ones.
It's a pretty complex game indeed... Thankfully, things like KC3 or the wiki help a lot with these different aspects. If you find yourself lost, feel free to join my Discord for some guidance! The link is in the description.
@@Oradimi i do like the wiki, it has been helpful for the last event of winter2022 but I have so much work to do on my ships. I didnt get past phase1 of E1 even. Still having so much trouble. I will add the discord.
it's a great job you've done here, i'll play it since i'm a fan of the anime, and Metal Waltz (a kancolle but with tanks and planes instead of ships) made me want to play this game as well.
Though, i must add.... for someone such as myself who just wants to play, the whole process is too long and technical.
30 minutes of downloading and installing stuff (not to mention it was sped up) would certainly kill the interest for more than one person.

Half of the video is just explaining the game a little bit. I tried to condense things more in my most recent video to install it on Android, so I may go back to this one in the future to update and improve it!
Before this, I'll try to find ways to make the process easier, as unfortunately right now it's just a bunch of bricks added on top of one another (I'm only responsible for the patch itself), and there's no other way to do it.

So uh, I haven't logged into the game for about a week due to work and I'm catching up on events in LoL. When I tried to log into the game this morning, I don't know why it just stuck at the DMM games login (white screen). Maybe you know how to fix it, do I need to reinstall TunnelBear VPN and log in with it? Thank You

Can I just end KCCacheProxy whenever I am not playing and start it when I play? I try to keep as less tasks running as possible. And thanks for the patch man, keep up the good work!
You can yes, but if you do, you must change back the SwitchyOmega profile to "System Proxy". Put it back to "proxy" and launch back KCCP whenever you want to play.

so i initially tried this without the cache dump, and it worked fairly well, with a bit of slower loading. but when i tried to do this with the cache dump, my browser (opera gx) gives a "no internet" error message

I came back to the game after a few years, do u know how is the farm? I remember before I used a lot SS to farm in 2-4, but that doesn't exist anymore.
With the map revamp of 2018, many farming spots changed. I'd recommend joining my Discord and asking there, you're more likely to get a better answer than from myself as I'm not really the farmer type y'know

Has anyone had an issue where when trying to play Kancolle, the screen is just a white box surrounded by purple?
Yes, here's a copy-paste of text instructions from the main KanColle Discord:
In case you suddenly can't access kc via chrome anymore [because of chrome update, but most people won't notice silent chrome updates]:
- check whether your address bar has a lock icon to the left of it. if yes, this is the guide for you. if it already shows "not secure", then it's caused by something else.
- click lock, go to web site settings, enable insecure content
- close and reopen dmm tab, kc should load now again. if it doesn't, restart browser completely
technical background:
- chrome is enabling the "always use secure connections" setting by default in the latest update (116), but kc doesn't support HTTPS, so the responses of the KC servers are rejected because they're insecure
- you can also globally disable the setting for all of chrome, but you should probably only do this if you only use chrome for kc
- if you have already manually disabled the secure connection setting at some point in the past, you should not be getting this issue
Besides, I recommend joining my server for more readily available information like this.

You didn't need a new DMM account honestly.
Nord VPN might have problems with this, try using TunnelBear instead. SwitchyOmega needs to be on yup.

It's been a few years since i played this game but the event routing seems to be more and more messy.
The routing not so much, but the amount of phases is really getting out of end, we've got 21 in the current event, spread across 7 maps

Usually this happens when you're running an ad-blocker. Deactivate adblock/ublock on dmm and try again. If, and only if, it still doesn't work, some other extensions may be responsible, so you may try deactivating them all, except for KC3 and SwitchyOmega.

There's a few outdated elements and additional steps that you may have to do now. I'd recommend to join the Discord for further instructions, but if you don't want to join the Discord, try the steps on the pinned message. I'm going to update the dead link, sorry about that.
hi. im a returning player (not by much) and im wondering how to transfer the game to another browser (Opera GX) without having to redownload the whole thing?
Everything tied to KCCP will remain.
You'll just need to redownload and set up SwitchyOmega and KC3. Be sure to create a backup of your KC3 data from your previous browser to be able to import the data into your new browser. If you need more details, you can join the Discord!

The PSVita game is a different game altogether, and support for it has been dropped, there's no more updates. But since it's an offline game, you can still play it.

what happen if you don't follow the steps 1 to 8, will it still work?
If you basically just launch the game right away without doing anything else? Well first you'll need to register anyway, and then you'll need to use a Japanese VPN each time you log in. You won't get the patch, the convenient cache storage or the very useful stats and information provided by KC3.

Can you make a Tutorial in Android for kancolle?
As I've said under another comment, it's planned, but not until we finally manage to port the full english patch to Android!
In the meantime, you can still join my Discord server discord.gg/krMeMKB to find written instructions on how to start the game on Android, and you can also ask for as much help as you want. We will soon have a partial patch on Android as well, but it's not hard to play the game in Japanese either, as you have useful tools that provide enough help without the need for a translation.
Unfortunately KCCP doesnt work for me anymore, I keep getting the error "A JavaScript error occurred in the main process Uncaught Exception: SyntaxError: unexpected token" also after reinstalling it :(
You need to uninstall it completely before reinstalling it. Go in AppData local and roaming, and delete the KCCacheProxy folder in both locations! You can then start the installation again, and it should work 👍

285 changed version tag, but weren't modified *
858 had to be downloaded from KC servers
94 failed to load
Saved 3.47 GB of bandwidth.
Well that's normal, these are just your cache stats ever since you first installed KCCP.

Sidenote I think you have forgot to mention that english patch has to be enabled in assets modifier otherwise prepatch button will not appear.

Can i transfer my DMM account from Mobile to PC? I started playing on mobile but my phone battery dies out fast and i was thinking on continuing on PC
You can use the exact same account on PC and Android, so no need to worry about it

KCCP is still useful to permanently store the game's assets, and to use asset mods like the English Patch. It is still largely in use.
@@Oradimi it is , for most people , changing pc sometimes the caches block from each acc might changing, theres a quite perma wae to not use kccp, which is using editthiscookie method, its still works but kccp is best tbh
EditThisCookie method has been obsolete for quite some time now, with KC3's DMM Cookie Hack. Moreover, it has nothing to do with the more recent IP block.
I used to play this game a lot in the past. I got 200 ship gitls and couldnt buy the dock upgrade. Unable to (basically) kill any of my shipgirls I had no choise but to stop playing.

Much of the workarounds as well as the patch are against the terms of service, but despite people using it for years, we haven't had any report from any person getting banned. I would say that it's pretty safe.
