This video we will go over how to calibrate pH probe and how to calibrate salinity probe for the Neptune Systems Apex. With the use of Apex Fusion, calibrating your pH and Salinity is made very easy. Monitoring your pH and salinity is just one of many things the Neptune Systems Apex can do. This video, I'm demonstrating the probe calibration with an Apex 2016. Enjoy.
This was so useful I have been chasing 8.3ph for ages. I constantly get around 7.2 to 7.3 once I calibrated the 7 changed to 8. Now getting an average of 8.2. I also calibrated the salinity which was way off. This guide did the trick step by step instructions I could follow. Your rock 🤘🏻
So glad it helped. Thanks for taking the second to post you comment!
@cody colina No never found that to be the case at all.
Thanks for this!!! I've almost given up on my APEX probes being right. The pH and Salinity were just frustrating. I think you identified a couple of the mistakes I might have made during the process so I'll try this again. Greatly appreciated!!!
Hey Tim, I really hope you'll be able to fix the issue. Thank you very much for the post!

After watching your presentation I follow your recommendations , worked as you indicated. I am
very appreciative of people like you, unselfish and eloquent, Mario.
Mario, you made my day! Thank you!
Bookmarking this video for future reference when I need to calibrate. Way easier to follow then any other Calibration video out there. Nice work Gil
Ha, thanks Phil. Really appreciated that comment.
Good info Gil. I'm going to try and calibrate my salinity probe again. For the last 9 months its been reading 1. This video was also a great reminder that I haven't calibrated my PH probe since I got the apex which is over 14 months agp.
Hey O!!! Thanks man. Been missing your Thursday livestreams, I need to get home sooner and catch them.
Good timing I need to recalibrate my PH probe. Thanks for the video👍
Right on Ktown!
Companies should use you to make videos for them. This step by step video is better than the other out there, including Neptune's own how to video on this topic.
Bree, huge compliment. Thank you!!!
Great update! When I get me Apex one day I will have to circle back to this video.
I'm really enjoying it. Thanks SC!
As always, excellent presentation, easy to understand, Thank you
Thank you very much!
Good info Gil. This will help a bunch of reefers
Right on Dave, thanks buddy!
Good walk thru!
What's up BIZZZZZ! Thank you very much sir!
Well done Mr reefer well done 👍,happy mothers day to the wife bro
Thanks Sheem, right back at you!
Awesome walk threw man but my apex system just keeps counting up its at negative 680
very informative! Thanks
No sir, thank you!!! 👍
Great video
Thank you WIll!
thank you!
Awesome! Thanks reefergil!
Counting down the hours!
would love an apex controller, maybe one day. sundays would not be the same without some reefer gil videos :D
Ah shucks Alan. Thank you very much!
Now I have to learn to program my
Skimmer ....pump ...etc... Because I just gotten my apex today
Where do you get your solution packets for PH and salinity ? TIA. Great video too !!
Don't forget for BOTH pH and SALT calibration to FIRST make sure that the Configuration under ADVANCED tab has TC (Temperature Control) accounted for if you ALSO HAVE A TEMPERATURE PROBE.
Can’t wait to get my apex system...hopefully a few more weeks!
You're going to love it Cory. Congrats!
I like that rodi trick
It comes in handy, thanks TMG!
Great detail thanks
Thank you
Every time I do my salinity probe calibration it is spot on for a day or two. Then over the next week it becomes uncalibrated. Anywhere in the range of 24- 40. I've done it at least 5 different time and with 3 different probes. Used different brands of calibration fluid. In 4 separate tanks. I do t understand it. Have you ever experienced this? Right now its reading 31.2 which I know is incorrect. I have 2 refractometers and they both read 1.026
Hey Brian. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues. It's reading 35.5 in the main DT. I also have a salinity probe in the nano tank and that one is reading 35.1. I just compared it to my refractometer and both systems were reading correctly. I would contact Neptune System's support to see if they can help you. Excellent customer service from my experience.
I liked your video
Thanks Cienna.
Whats sup Gil! Do you still have the Reef Keeper, Im gonna have to refer to this when I finally get into apex, lol
Stop buying tanks, grills and corals for one week and you'd have saved up enough for the Apex, lol. Once you have it, you'll never run another system without it!
Hey Gil what is on your apex TEMPNA and is 26.1 great video, you teach me something again Thank you!
Thank Cuban. TEMPNA is the temperature for my Nano. I think it was unplugged when I did this video so it was reading 26.1.
What if after calibrating twice but it shows 7.16 on my fusion dashboard when placed inside the 7.00 PH reference solution...Temp is 77.9
That's not way off to the point I'd be concerned. But in reality, it should be a little closer to 7.00
Great vid! Have you been following the apex triton ?
Oh yes. My application is in to be a beta tester. We shall see if I get in on that action.
ReeferGil nice! Just curious but how did you sign up to be a beta tester?
For the Trident. I think they had a link on their facebook. I'm not sure if they've closed it, but jump on their FB and check it out.
ReeferGil Awesome, thank you for the info.
Thank you & great video! My only problem is with my Salinity Probe. I can't get the green check for the "Acceptable Range." The probe is straight out of the box and bone dry. Yet it still says to "Dry the Conductivity Probe." Am I missing the brain cells necessary to get this to work? If I understand you correctly it shouldn't be put into the solution yet at this point. Please help! I'm no Chip so I have little love for technology.
Correct. Needs to be dry prior to placing in solution. I took a paper towel, wrapped the probe, and shook it.
@@ReeferGil I finally got it to work. But def. need to try recalibrating. Kept getting messages on my phone that it was high. Came home and tested it with my Refractometer and it was a perfect 1.026. Guess technology needs to be taken with a "Grain of Salt."
👊👍
Thanks Rico!
