The speed difference and size of Max at 155 was impressive, he landed two body shots and right hand before Gaethje threw one hook

The best part for me after all that is when Max is raging on the mic and calls out Ilia. The camera pans and the dude is in awe of what he just saw.
That moment is what UFC 300 was supposed to be about and celebrate. Two guys fighting for the fans putting it all out there. It takes the throne of best KO ever, for the aww and shock factor, excitement in the moment, opponent... awesome. I can't think of a knockout that came with a bigger explosion of energy in the moment.
Max said he started sparring more for this camp. I think that was a big reason behind why he looked so sharp and alert.
If you watch the fight back, his eyes are wide and alert throughout.
He looked DIALED IN, but you're right I think the sparring really helped him

Max was brilliant, but we don't know how Gaethje would have reacted to the shots, if his nose wasn't shattered. For all we know, Gaethje keeps enough durability to shrug off the shots, and land his power against the fence.
Being a Hawaii resident for over 30 years, Max has been my favorite fighter since he entered the UFC in 2012. And I understand recency bias, but this was my favorite fight ever. I was nervous af for Max coming into this fight but he went full Hawaiian Warrior on Saturday night. It's been a helluva ride following Max's career, and he's still got a few more prime years in him. The Best is Blessed. Aloha.

So I’ve been watching your channel for years (I think 2018 time). I started training properly from 2020-2021. I have recently been doing essay type analysis of my peers and myself and damn, the amount of time that goes in for only 1 round is insane. It would take pages for 1 round. I just wanted to say that deep breakdowns is hard and truly appreciate what you do. Not just for the content but basing my analysis structure like yours has made my analysis great.
I appreciate it man. These deeper analysis really take experience to do. I was a lot slower when I started, needed days for any breakdown I did. Now I usually get most of my analysis done once the fight is over, but fights like this always need more time. Would love to read your progress man.

All credit to Max and we don't make excuses, but you have to put that fight into context. Justin broke his nose on a freak injury and then had both of his eyes gouged out. By the end of the fight, he was essentially blind and unable to breathe which left him vulnerable. Being the warrior that he is, however, he never looked for a way out and fought until the last second. I had it 2-2 going into the fifth in a razor close fight. We need to respect Justin too.

The fact he put on that 5 rnd clinic, Yet also pulled off that Last Second KO win! Is something we only see in sports once in a lifetime. I've been a huge sports fan all my life but there is something very special about MMA especially once you witness it at the highest most elite levels of it. This sport is amazing. The coolest thing was how the final standoff came from a place of honour. It wasn’t an arrogant “I’m too tough for you, my chin is indestructible, I can stand and swing just for fun and you can’t do a damn thing”. Instead, it was a genuine act of honour and generosity, “you’re the BMF and you granted me this opportunity where you had everything to lose, so after beating you convincingly and astonishingly for 24.5 minutes, I’m gonna offer you the chance to flatline me at the buzzer and take all the spoils of victory, bro”. And the universe was like: “let’s top this entire awe inspiring narrative off with the perfect ending”.
Max has to be careful now in the last 10 seconds. His opponents are going to know its coming and be ready for it, taking advantage of the situation. Like nods and walk to the center then jump in with a flying knee or something.

I think what I loved most about this fight was that Max proved he does have power, he just has a style where he doesn’t throw 100 percent into his shots because he wants to have good endurance.
The angle max threw that punch allowed him to get torque and really put power into it
